Natural Threat 2
In Brief
Natural Threat 2 is another Hidden Object game and is the sequel to Ominous Shores which we were given two weeks ago. :)

Natural Threat 2 downloads to a 631 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set-up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives can save games on any drive they wish. The newly installed game is 789 MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed by the user if you prefer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPlayCity.com\Natural Threat 2
Four shortcuts are installed to the desktop; three of which can be safely deleted (Play Online Games, MyPlayCity Games and shortcuts to a free online game which vary each week). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you uncheck the box when the additional tasks window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window)

Reveal the truth about secret experiments in the great game Natural Threat 2! Have you ever thought that your life is tiresome and dull, and you want captivating adventures? If you are sick and tired of daily routine, you get a unique chance to dive to the whirlpool of events together with the brave Iris, the main character of the game Natural Threat 2. Lily and her father are missing, and you are to venture out on an epic adventure to rescue them both! Iris won’t be able to cope with everything alone! You must be brave, as Lily and her dad are counting on you. So start your adventure right now! It will be extremely dangerous because the deadening vines are everywhere. You can’t come closer to a room with hidden object scenes or even explore locations without clearing the space from ubiquitous plants. What happened to the small town and where these mutants came from? You are to disguise the truth and find a way to get rid of the monsters and find Iris’s family. There are lots of hidden object scenes for you to explore and lots of mini-games to solve, try your hand at repairing, matching fragments to a whole puzzle and boost your logic! What happened to the secret laboratory and what is the leader of these mutant plants? What do they want from Iris’s family? The Game:
Calling Natural Threat 2 a sequel, the story in this game has nothing to do with the first game. The only reason we can see that this serves as a sequel is that both games have the same theme of mutated plants try to conquer the city, in fact, the story in this sequel is very similar to the first game. It is so similar that sometimes it feels like the developer just use the same story but sets in a new city with new characters.
With that being said, Natural Threat 2 is quite a hooking game. The story starts out very well with an intense cutscene and then it gets more exciting. You will stumble upon many notepads as well as posters and journal pages so there is a lot of reading to take; anyway, if you are not too keen of reading, you will not be disconnected from the story.
From the graphics point, Natural Threat 2 has an awesome, epic graphics. The artwork is brilliant, and the scenes are crystal clear; all the animations are done well, and many locations are very beautiful to look at. However, some might say that Natural Threat 2 is kind of a disturbing game which is true. Many visuals are not very pleasant to look at; like plants eating humans or little girl being wrapped around by plants, that’s really gro=ss. As for the audio, the music is Natural Threat 2 is okay, nothing to be praised about and the voice overs are great.

What the developer failed to deliver is a challenging game because Natural Threat 2 feels like a beginner Hidden Object game. There is no map in the game which is not a major deal since the game is very linear. Most of the items you pick up will be used almost immediately and it is very easy to figure out all the tasks and interactions. The Hidden Object scenes comes in only one type which is the standard list one unlike its predecessor which has a variety of HO scenes. The puzzles are nothing original and they are not very difficult either; many of them feel out of place and not really related to the theme of the game.

Problems getting the game to work:
If you're having problems installing or activating or getting today’s game to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e. the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.
If for any reason you want to contact the giveaway team, for example, you have a game to offer the community, or are unable to download the latest game or other issues that the FAQ's thread or these comments don't cover or solve you can do so HERE

I disabled my antivirus as I always have, downloaded with no problems but it would not install. I attempted 4 times during the day and no matter what I tried, it would not complete the process to install. Uninstalled it and hoping it comes back around so I can try it again.

Extremely buggy; have tried to play it all the way through twice now (both from the start with new profiles) and at the same point, you have nothing left you can do and hint quits working because of the bugs. It seems to be that one of the hidden object scenes fails to give you something you need to keep going.

Cannot pick up the pink flower on the blue plate to decorate the birthday cake. I like HOG games. Tried deleting and reinstalling but it still didn't work.

I tried several times to install this game. I disabled AVG and downloaded the zip folder then ran the setup program. I got a msg that it was activated but I was never asked where I wanted the game installed nor was an icon added to the desk top. I can not find the program anywhere. Any ideas would be appreciated. This is a Win7 sys.

Jerry, if Win 7 has a search feature just type the program name in the search box.

Zen, Tried that, it just finds the setup folder & files.

I deleted all the files & rebooted twice then went through the setup again and this time it installed. :-)

I haven't actually finished Ominous Shores so I will go back to that one before resuming this. However, game installed fine on Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition laptop, I notice lots of videos to watch, interspersed with game play. Game is also a bit full of dark colors which might be difficult if you have vision issues, but OK so far. I have a general comment: why do so many games not have lighter colors? There's a lot of older people who like games but the dark colors make it hard to see the items we are looking for. It would be nice to have more contrast.

Looks like it's gonna be a good game. I'm on Windows 7, 64-bit. I had to disable the bottom three things in Compatibility mode and change it to Windowed View instead of Full Screen to get a steady custom cursor. The way they've done the sound is problematic. I much prefer games that separate the music, the voice, and FX effects into 3 different elements. The music in the first puzzle was so "la-dee-dah" that I just had to turn it off - but, it was obvious that the the music was mixed in with other sound elements, but with the next cutscene, there was silence since I had turned off the music..but I still had the other sound "on". So, I turned up the music volume a little and when the reporter started speaking in the next scene - it was obvious that his voice/dialogue sound was mixed in with the music volume.

Anyhow, it looks like an enjoyable game - I'd just definitely make all sound elements separate for any sequels or other games this Developer makes.

Hope you and your family are doing good. For the last several months I get a message "The key can not be decrypted" when trying to activate. I have stopped anti-virus and firewall. Still get error. I have used expressZip and 7zip both for years with your giveaway. I've searched but with poor results. At 73 and like you on the computer all day and night due to my handicap. Have been a member here from just about the beginning and love to read your reviews. Look forward to weekends when I can get a new game. Just don't leave as many comments as I used to. If anyone has a work around that would be great. Thanks WR for all you do for us. May you and your family be healthy and enjoy.
