Unable to select anything on the title page of the game.

Tried compatibility mode and a fresh download and reinstall. Same outcome.

Perhaps a bug which can be fixed?

Running on a Win 10 Pro 64 PC

Hi C, I was just about to post my short review when I saw your post appear. There is a simple explanation for the issue you have. I had the same issue and was scratching my head when I noticed moving my mouse above the three buttons highlighted them. The problem is the games native resolution will be different to what your monitor is set to so you will need to move your mouse above the menu buttons when it's highlighted you should be able to access the game, access the control button or exit. Whiterabbit-uk, Thanks for that information. Previously I was swirling my mouse pointer around without any success of activating a menu option.

I can now play the game but can't seem to light any of the candelabras. Maybe to do so requires a pixel perfect spot next to them?! I stood the character in front of them pressed L and then moved to different positions next to them and pressed L but couldn't get any lit. It appears to be a little tricky when the candle goes out because it takes a while for the flame to appear. The ghost has usually caught the character by then. Due to wandering in near dark conditions to find a safe spot to stand and light the candle flame. Would be a lot easier if I could get the candelabras lit.

Quick update. I had another go and it appears I was initially too quick with releasing the L key to light the candelabras. It takes a short while for each of them to light in turn.

C, Please excuse the later reply. I was online with some friends when you posted this' ended up staying up later than expected so went straight to bed after finishing our game and discussions. I didn't think to check the forums first.

I don't think it's an issue with where you stand as such. I stood directly next to them, in what looks like beneath them when looking at it directly. you can see from the images I posted that I was able to light them. The lighting action is basically the same as when you have to relight your candle. Though it may take slightly longer to light the wall lights/candleabra's. I died several times while trying to get those lights lit. Frustrating, but it is possible, you just need to make sure, when you start to light the wall lights that the red arrow isn't visible. If it appears within a second or two of you trying to light the wall lights, I found the best strategy was to abandon that light and go on to another, in the opposite direction to where the ghost is coming from. when it appears, you usually have about 5 seconds before it touches you. You also need to be careful that you don't trap yourself, by making sure you have an escape route.

My Mind Ghost

In Brief

My Mind Ghost is a story about a girl lost and wandering around in an unlit mansion, with only a candle to light her way. She is looking for painkillers for her headache that are scattered around the mansion. She imagines ghosts are trying to catch her.

The Game

When I booted up the game initially I wasn't able to access any of the three buttons i.e. PLAY, CONTROLS & EXIT initially, then found that the collision mesh that enabled me to access them was displaced. Moving my mouse above the buttons allowed me to click on each button. You can see where I had to place my mouse pointer to access the play button in the first image below. This could be due to the games native resolution being different to my screen resolution; My display resolution is set at 1920 x 1080. The controls include WASD for movement L to turn on candles and Esc to go back to the menu. There appears to be eight levels all of which are locked apart from the first one.

You have to collect all of the pills scattered around a dark level. Initially all you can see of the level is a small section lit by a pool of light from the candle you are carrying. However there are candelabra's scattered around the level, which you can light by standing next to them and lighting them. This will enable you to slowly open up most of the level as the pools of light cast by each candelabra overlaps. While doing these two tasks you have to avoid the ghost that is wandering around the level, which if close by a red arrow will appear showing you the direction the ghost is coming from. Every so often your candle will extinguish and you have to stop to relight it (L). If the ghost catches you the level starts from the beginning again. On the first level you have to find 11 pills, some of which are hidden under barrels which do roll away if you approach them closely; watch out though because they can trap you against walls in confined area's.

Overall I quite liked this particular game. The simple but pleasant graphic style and the simple challenges should easily be accomplished by most playing this game. I'd say its one of those coffee break games that spending 10 to 15 minutes on at a time should sate that gamer spirit in you. Once you've completed the level you can progress to the next level. Progress is only saved when a level is completed.
