Again today my review was deleted. Its happened several times now and for what I have no idea. It was even a GOOD review because I like this game. I will never even attempt to review another review here. I do not use bad language and do not "slam" anything I've ever reviewed. If I don't care for a game I don't even review it. But enough is enough. This isn't the first time either. There's plenty of other sites to get free games from.

Seems that his head was fallen on the keyboard. Thanks GOTD for deleting them.

Downloaded, Installed and Activated with no problems on my Win10x64 machine using Edge as my Browser.

I must say first that Time Management are some of my favorite games so my bar is set pretty high with them. Having said that, this is an excellent game. Its a little fast paced, even for this genre but I like that actually. Keep your eyes open and scan the whole screen though, especially at first! Easy to miss things, at least on the first few levels. I've only played the first 5 levels so far but am impressed so will be keeping this for awhile. Not sure about the replayability but that will come later on. The graphics are decent, above average actually but nothing to rave about either. Not up to the quality of a Playrix or Alawar game but better than you get with a lot of these type games. Each level takes about 5 to 6 minutes to complete in "3 Star" time. I have no idea what would happen if you run out of time.

Only a quibble or two. One, you have to hit the arrow button to go from the jump scene to the next level, instead of just clicking on the screen. Minor I know, but...... Two, and I have THIS "quibble" with the vast majority of this kind of game, is ...... the "cuteness" factor. Why in the world these developers feel everything has to be cute is beyond me. You know what I mean, large heads on a smaller body, big eyes etc. I must admit that this game does tone it down once you start playing the actual game, but the cut scenes though static are just too cute for me. A common thing with me and it detracts NOTHING from the game itself. As I said , a quibble.

Overall this is a very welcome addition to my games folder and if you like T.M. games I would recommend giving it a try. If T.M. aren't your favorite then you probably wouldn't try it anyway, but I would still recommend giving it a try because its pretty good. Not positive its a great game for a total T.M. noob due to its very fast pace ( I even had to re-do 2 of the 5 levels I've played to get 3 stars!), but even then its worth a look. Thank you MyPlayCity and GGOTD for this.

Hey Wabbit,

I think this is just for the weekend..Not sure. But you do keep it forever.... Cortex Command Free on Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/209670/Cortex_Command/

I didn't get the game but if it's a BigFish game they are usually good. So If you like TM games, then get it.

I was at the Doctors half the day yesterday so playing catch up today.

Thanks to GGOTD and MPC for the game and Wabbit for his usual glowing review.

Huggles to the you and the family, Wabbit.

This is a good time management game. I have played the first 3 levels and what I do find a bit frustrating is that you cant click on the next task until a worker is free. Apart from that this is a very good TM game and will definitely be a keeper for me. Thank you MPC for the game today.

Installation:
Monument Builders: Colosseum downloads to a 140 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set-up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives can save games on any drive they wish. The newly installed game is 336 MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed by the user if you prefer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPlayCity.com\Monument Builders - Colosseum
Four shortcuts are installed to the desktop. three of which can be safely deleted (Play Online Games, MyPlayCity Games and shortcuts to a free online game which vary each week). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you uncheck the box when the additional tasks window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window)

The Game:
Review 1:
In 70 AD, the Emperor Imperius sought out a volunteer from the Senate who will build him his most ambitious project ever – an amphitheatre that reflects the glory and grandeur that was Rome. Young and ambitious senator Victorius stepped up to the task, and receives the mandate from the Emperor to build for him what would become an icon of Rome in the future: the Colosseum.
But Victorius was not without his detractors. Antivirus, another senator who sought the riches and glory of the project, has hired bandits and boars to prevent the project from ever taking shape. What follows then is an epic virtual world game that will keep you entertained and, at the same time, educated about the history of one of Italy’s most popular tourist attractions in modern times.
As Victorius, your main task is to slowly build the Colosseum. The story plays out in individual levels, each of which will have their own obstacles and goals for you to pass in order to play the next level. Typically, you’ll be asked to collect resources like stone, wood and food, as well as build structures. It’s fairly simple, but what complicates your tasks are the presence of obstacles that appear as early as the third level of the game.
These obstacles include the “hard hat” bandits that Antivirus has hired to annoy your project and to keep it from succeeding. The bandits can be dealt with by moving the cursor over them until a heart icon appears. Keep pressing the left mouse button until the heart gauge depletes, and the bandit will fall down and is considered “warded off.”

image
Next to the bandits, you have the boars that accompany them. They are a bit trickier to deal with – you’ll have to feed them food in order to drive them away. These boars present more challenge than the ordinary bandit, because they’ll literally leech from your food collection. When they are present in the level, any goals of collecting food can be delayed by the need to ward them off.
Last but not the least, you have unfinished roads. They block delivery of resources, so they’ll need to be repaired so that the donkeys carrying the resources can be on their way to the prefecture.
Collection and construction are carried out by your workers. At the start of each level, you have two workers that can take on only one task at a time each. You can recruit more, however, for 40 Gold in the prefecture if you want to hasten the processes you are undertaking.
In between each levels, the game gives you titbits of information on the history of the Colosseum. Not only are you entertained, you also learn some history along the way while playing Monument Builders: Colosseum!

Review 2:
The game puts you in the shoes of the humble servant of the great Victorius, the man challenged with the task of building the greatest structure that was ever built: the Colosseum! Of course,
being such an amazing structure, it attracts some negative influences too from the ruthless Antivirus who does his best to sabotage your works.
In terms of gameplay, this translates in your familiar, fast paces time management style of play: each stage challenges you to reach specific objectives which get gradually difficult. In order to reach your objective, you will have to cut wood, produce resources, battle the invaders and generally do a lot of tapping everywhere, trying not to get lost in the multitude of things that you can do.

There’s also a time limit, but it’s lenient as Monument Builders – Colosseum does want you to enjoy the experience, not get frustrated in the process. And it is a pretty enjoyable experience: during the first few stages, it will look like that type of game that’s about to become pretty boring fast, with repetitive tasks, but it rebounds quickly and somehow manages to bring in new challenges and increase the complexity level.
In most of the cases, you will have to build different types of resource producing buildings, collect the resources they produce and either stack up enough of them or use them to build parts of the Colosseum. While you do this, you also fight against the enemies by simply tapping them or gathering enough food to tame their wild boars – so in concept, everything is pretty basic, but you never get the chance to feel bored because there’s a solid pace and you’ll always be busy having to tap on something.
Although the graphics in Monument Builders – Colosseum are not out of the ordinary, they still manage to entertain and offer some eye candy, with bright, colorful houses and workshops, with sweet animations and so on. What I really liked, though, was the music of the game, one that fits the theme flawlessly and always keeps me on my toes. Plus it makes me believe that any moment now Russell Crowe will appear somewhere, wielding his sword. He never does.
All in all, for those who love the time management genre, Monument Builders – Colosseum is a more than decent experience. It doesn’t try to bring any innovations to the table, but sometimes it’s better to stick to the plan that works instead of breaking things with something new and crappy. And this game is far from crappy, it is fast paced, challenging, fun and has a great soundtrack to accompany you to the end!

Problems getting the game to work:
If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Monument Builders: Colosseum to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e. the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.
If for any reason you want to contact the giveaway team, for example, you have a game to offer the community, or are unable to download the latest game or other issues that the FAQ's thread or these comments don't cover or solve you can do so HERE
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank MyPlayCity for giving away Monument Builders: Colosseum and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games.
