In Brief:
We've had a similar game some months ago (name escapes me. In Monster Phenomenon you have to navigate your monster around the arena by using your mouse to attach the monsters three tentacles to the surfaces of the platforms. Each move requires three clicks of the mouse to move the three tentacles. The direction the monster travels in and the speed it travels is determined by the placement of the three tentacles. Avoid getting caught in the targeting reticule. If the reticule manages to get a bead on you, your dead.

The aim of the game is to kill all the humans on the level by moving the monster over them. Succeed and you'll be transported to the next level. Fail and you start the level again. There is no save mechanic, so, when you close the game down, then restart, you start from level 1 again.

The menu system is accessed using the up and down arrow keys and enter to activate. to return to a previous menu use Esc.

Hi Jason, the giveaway team usually extend the giveaway if they find a fault.

As a moderator I don't have to rely on FB or emails, so I can't say whether or not there is a problem as I was able to re-download the game to check to see if there was any issues downloading it.

sailorbear510 aka Jason, other people are having the same problem with the FB plugin. They deleted that comment and might have fixed it. Did they completely remove the face book plugin? It just downloads directly, no pop up anymore. It would appear they are in the process of fixing it. The push notification did not work either but the email option was the only one that worked.

Jason Gibbs, I can actually confirm it's broken. Thankfully I was able to use the email route to get today's giveaway and it arrived immediately. However I was able to use FB share yesterday. Hopefully this can be fixed.

You play as a monster that wants to get rid of all people on Earth, moving between levels destroying everyone in its path. Upon seeing this game and reading the description, the monster in the game screen looks like a beholder which is a fictional monster in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game and is among the D & D monsters that have appeared in every edition of the game since 1975. Many interesting quality games over the years included a beholder such as the Eye of the beholder series, Doom and many more so I decided to at least take a look. Further, many games have used monsters as the main character, from Carrion https://store.steampowered.com/app/953490/CARRION/ or the Viruz platformer on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/1553650/ViruZ/ and Destroy all Monsters https://store.steampowered.com/app/803330/Destroy_All_Humans/ going all the way back to very old games like apple cider spider a platformer with a spider (hey some think they are monsters), and non platfomers like Crush, Crumble, and Chomp where the player takes control of many different movie monsters and attacks a famous city, such as New York or San Francisco.

This one is a GameMaker Studio game template for doing a pixel art retro platformer game, however it goes in a different direction with mouse-only controls where you control an alien monster with three tentacles that moves only by sticking its 3 tentacles to the surface one at a time and killing people on its way that just stand in place. There is a reticule moving about you have to avoid or the weapons are fired and kill you restarting the level if you stay in one place too long, and here is where the gameplay fails a bit imo and I believe most will uninstall after a short playing time after a quick checkout. For now its a quick timewaster if you want to check out something interesting in a spare moment.

If the reticule were removed and instead make it an interesting platformer or explore type game with goals and puzzles perhaps using that movement mechanism it might be quite interesting and different. There should also be tutorial level either way without any enemies to understand and practice the moving mechanisms. Maybe both buttons could be used rather than one to better hone the movement.

There was an error when starting and it was due to the shortcut pointing to the wrong filename, the shortcut needs to be changed to MonsterPhenomenon.exe or run that file from explorer.

Thank you Whiterabbit-uk for your synopsis and also thank you GGOTD for your generosity in providing these games. Even though I read review of this game and tried it myself I could not just get past level one.

This week on the giveaway site, the games seem to have a common theme. Games with a high level of difficulty. I must be not good at them as I've not been happy the way they play and so forth.

Recently, I've been playing Capcom Arcade Stadium Second Stage on my XBOX, They recently had a sale for $29.99 which gets you access to the whole collection within the game. It was a fantastic value.

It should be noted that if you intended to purchase Street Fighter Anniversary Collection or Capcom Fighting Collection, you can purchase the full suite of games on Capcom Arcade Stadium and it will be a balanced collection between the two games I mentioned.

FYI, $29.99 is the best sale they can do right now on the full packs between Stadium 1 and Stadium 2. But in the end, it provided me with more nostalgia and so forth

I still want Commando and possibly Strider from the first CapCom Stadium package.

As for the Second Stadium bundle, I only have four of those so far; i.e., Hyper Dyne Side Arms, 1943 Kai - Midway Kaisen (free) , Last Dual and A.K.A. Block Block. There are quite a few of the second stadium games that I still want to pick up, so I may wait until it's on sale to buy the package. Sadly they don't appear to include a discount for games already purchased like some other bundles do.
