Simple concept, but harder to master. Good game!

This is actually a slight reworking of the card game Rack-O, which is a great little game. However the challenges do seem pretty easy on the Quest Game, which is a bit of a shame. If you like the idea but want to play face to face with a person who can pose a real challenge look for Rack-O!

I have just downloaded this game and am about to give it a go now, however, I wanted to put my two bob's worth in, and say that, I really like to explore new game concepts, originality in games these days is getting harder and harder to find. I enjoy my games being a challenge, and have enjoyed many GAOTD games so far. Keep up the good work guys, myself and most of my mates, think this site is a gem!

Your long windy inane posts are of no help, & hardly worth reading at all.
Don't quit your day job!
LOL!

.......

Thanks but no Thanks, GAOTD.
Simple game for simple minds, not needed here.
Bring on something a heck of alot better!

I would love to see Brainsbreaker jigsaw puzzle offered as a game Giveaway. As for today's game, it may be mediocre but the company's little snake logo is so cute I wish I could add him to my serpentine gang here.

It's the game Rack-O on a computer. It's got some use for kids to learn thinking skills, but I find the 2-player version boring.

Sometimes ya just gotta try it for yourself....so that's what I did. It's really kinda cute and not as simple as it first looks, but that's only because of "the luck of the draw". I agree it would be good for kids but they'd need some basic number knowledge first. I wouldn't buy this one, but it's nice for a free trial. Thanks Guys!

Very cute game, definitely geared towards children, my main objection to using the game as a learning tool would be the poor English... as a math skill builder game would be very beneficial though. It is fun trying to make matches and beat the computer at the same time! Directions are difficult to understand (a child would need the game explained to them) also, it should explain that when there are two towers each one is played by itself. Glad I downloaded and am anxious for my nieces and nephews to visit as I am sure they will enjoy playing it! Thanks GGOTD.

Thank you Gambana and GGAOTD for today's game offering. The dsl download/setup took under 2 minutes on my Windows XP and I choose to have a desktop shortcut created.

This game would be good for a person, child or adult, that would like to arrange numbers, lower/higher. This is a simple game to play and has no time limit. Thumbs up because it is a 'learning game' in nature, but a 'leap-frog' it is not. Thanks.

Ohh no, Just from the screenshot. This look like a math game. I think I’ll pass on this one.

above is the very first comment. They guy hasn't even tried it. Anyhow, it's not a math game.

THIS IS NOT A MATH GAME, PEOPLE!

You just try to stack a more stable tower. I've played other versions of this, and it's challenging but with a nice easy pace. Download it and try it before you assume you won't enjoy it, you might be surprised.

Good distraction, easy to play (not challenging but great time killer), really good game younger kids that need practice with sequencing numbers.

What a surprise.
Everyone drools over a crappy "find the cat on the ceiling" game last week and complains that a game is for kids when they need to use their brain for a few minutes.

This is a fun game for a few minutes here and there.
The basis is similar to many card games in which you have to make the most of the cards (or bricks) that you are dealt.
That some "geniuses" can finish the whole game in half an hour is not the point.
A good game is one that you can pick up and play again and again for just a few minutes and this is one of them.

Thanks Gotd.
I'm looking forward to more games of this ilk and no more idiot making games like last weeks.

The system requirements listed at the top of this page are:
Windows XP/Vista, CPU: 1800 MHz, Memory: 512 MB RAM, HDD: 50 MB

The system requirements listed on Gambana's site are:
Windows XP-Vista, CPU: 800 MHz, Memory: 256 MB RAM,HDD: 10 MB

I am assuming that the one listed above is 'suggested' and the one on Gambana's site is 'minimum' requirements. The reason I point this out is I wanted to put this game on my son's older, slower machine but it does not meet the 'suggested' requirments. It does however meet the minimum requirements so I will try that and see if there are any problems.

I did play the game on 'my' machine with no problems. Yes, the game is very simple for adults but should, at least, be a game the kids can play.

Oh, I get it! It's kind of like trying to get a run in Gin but you can only trade "cards" from either the "discard" or "draw" pile. It gives you bonus points for getting a true "run" (3-4-5, 7-8-9, etc.) but as long as the cards are in sequential order, you win the level.

I do have a 6yo, 8yo & 10 yo. This might be fun for a short while for them, but I don't think they'd come back to it very often. It would probably be a much better game if you could have people play against each other & not just against the computer. I could see that as a much better family game.

Ever thought about checking out
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open_source_games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeware_games

You can find all types of games there ranging from FPS to RPG, from simulation to puzzle and from platform to chess... all of them free all the time.

Compare those to this one and keeping in mind that for this game offered here you're normally expected to pay.... then perhaps you and others will understand why I'm underwhelmed by a 7 MB download for a kiddy game that you can play a variation of online for free (http://www.grab.com/games/tower-blaster)

At last here's the game video I promised earlier. The quality is quite low, so it's hard to see the different numbers you are exchanging during the instructions section; however it still gives you an idea as to what the game looks like. I'll have to save the next video at a higher quality setting:

Installed quickly & easily on our XP system. Following the "Read Me" instructions for registration might help those having difficulty, but you do have to activate it BEFORE you run set-up, which is not always the case with GOTD software. The program does what it says and I am happy GOTD remembers there are children around needing software too. A good lot of my purchase dollars go towards software for the kiddies, so it seems reasonable we could test their products too and let the designers know what's working or not before spending it, same as the rest. Gambana might want to work in more variety in levels of difficulty to make this software more appealing, but it's a decent game for practicing sequencing. Thanks!
