Downloaded and activated but the installer crashes after that.

I do not have anti-virus, and I have defending disabled
I installed and try to play with Administrator privilege.
I installed the "Moai III - Trade Mission" for days, it worked OK
What can you do to help me?
I loved the Moai III - Trade Mission, I did not want to lose this version of the world that is provided today.

Hello,
I have a strange error message after starting the game:
engine.exe - Einsprungspunkt nicht gefunden
X Der Prozedureinsprungspunkt "SymGetLineFromAddrW64" wurde in der DLL "dbghelp.dll" nicht gefunden.
In english this means something like:
engine.exe - entry point not found
X The procedure entry point "SymGetLineFromAddrW64" was not found in the DLL "dbghelp.dll".
I hope this can be fixed, because I like such games very much.
Sincerely Walter

Walter,
A quick Google on your error message: "SymGetLineFromAddrW64", indicates you might be running Windows XP. If that's true, there likely is no fix possible. The problem **might** also show up in Vista, though I say that because of its age -- I didn't see Vista mentioned when I Googled, but then it was a very quick Google.
Microsoft adds new programming features to Windows' core with each new major version. It also adds them to new versions of its programming software. If the code for a program [game] tries to use one of these features, and it's not there because it's an older version of Windows, then you get an error similar to what you've reported. This sort of thing is not more common because coders may use 3rd party software tools, &/or they may incorporate work-a-rounds for the problem, though eventually those 3rd party tools catch up with Microsoft's, and any work-a-rounds become more difficult or impossible.
So why is XP listed under the requirements? Most likely people working for Big Fish &/or MPC just copy that list of Windows versions onto the page for every game -- they don't test each one on every version of Windows or on every hardware configuration because that's the developer's job. Maybe with Moai IV the developers didn't bother with a more complete testing, or maybe they didn't give that info to MPC, or maybe they did but it didn't get to the right people? Who Knows?

Walter, I had the same problem with getting MOAI 4 working with Windows XP, Service Pack 3 that you listed.
A quick solution, if you have the game available, is to COPY the file "dbghelp.dll" from the "MOAI 3" game (which was available here a few weeks ago) into the "MOAI 4" folder.
Apparently the game company didn't include this DLL file with this week's game, and it's not included in the standard Windows XP installation.
If you don't have "MOAI 3", you might be able to try finding "dbghelp.dll" in any of the other game folders that included it to find one that's compatible with this week's game.

This is a welcome surprise..!
I thoroughly enjoyed MOAI III from last week, and was just thinking about looking for the others in the series.
Thanks MPC and GGTD...!

Brad, Make sure you extracted both the exe and the gcd before attempting the setup. If you already did this you might need to disable your AV temporarily during install

Brad,
"Downloaded and activated but the installer crashes after that"
You *might* try downloading the game directly from MPC [watching out for optional toolbars etc. during setup]. If I remember correctly WR reported that problem & cure once or twice.

Mavadelo, I extracted all to the same folder and turned off the Windows AV. Also checked the error and it is some BEX error. Did some research there and tried to allow a permission to the setup.exe to run without triggering virus etc warnings in Windows. Still no luck.

lol, I liked part 3 so much I already downloaded this one from MPC heheheh. absolutely recommended. No double levels like in the last one, now there is a bonus level after every 3 levels. For the rest it is basically the same.
