Suggestions:
If you receive a key for Mind Shift please give some feedback about your opinion of the game, for example, what you liked or disliked about it, or how it could be improved from your point of view . If you don't like this genre at all, please explain why. What, improvements, if any, would change your opinion? There are thousands of subscribers to the game giveaway of the day every weekend which makes this an ideal forum for giving developers ideas as to what their consumers (i.e you) would like to see in a game. For example, you could suggest extra content such as better or more original mini games, or a level editor that you would like to see that would make it more appealing to you. Maybe you think the graphics are a little dated and are in need of re skinning, or maybe you've just had enough of the genre and want to see something different or something with more originality?
If you miss the offer, you can get the game 24/7 via Steam HERE. It usually costs £1.99/$2.99.

The Game:
Mind Shift has similar game play and looks to Mind Blox; which was featured HERE last week as a competition giveaway. It has the same graphic design, the same menus etc.
Mind Shift has similar game play and looks to Mind Blox; which was featured HERE last week as a competition giveaway. It has the same graphic design, the same menus etc. I was given a key for this game this morning and have spent a few hours on and off playing the game and think it's as good as Mind Blox. The game play is slightly different in that instead of bringing together groups of similar blocks to destroy them, in Mind Shift you move a single block through an arena, using stoppers to move to a position where you can escape the arena via a teleporter. The perimeter of the arena is covered mostly by spikes that if hit destroy your block On some levels you destroy other blocks and as you progress you are introduced to killer plants that devour your block if you happen to hit them. The levels become very complex as you progress. There are several different areas to visit, for example The Learning Mind, The Empowered Minds etc and a new level is being added soon called The Future Minds, each area having 15 levels.
The level editor is very easy to use and is accessed via the main menu. There are several ground tiles for example breaking tiles, weird ground tiles, moving ground tiles both horizontal and vertical. There are destructive tiles such as spikes, saws and killer plants that if touched destroy your block.

You can see Steam community reviews of Mind Shift HERE, and if you want to see some game-play you can see a video HERE.
Conclusion:
I was given akey earliy this morning and have played it for a few hours over the day. It's an ideal game to play in short bursts. The level design is similar to the previous giveaway Mind Blox, though the mechanic is different. I've enjoyed playing it. The puzzles are excellent and there's also the promise of more to come. I think the developer is hoping that the community will submit their creations and the best will be officially added to the game, so, to those who win a copy, do use the easy to use level creator and submit to the developer. :)
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the developer Drunken Apes for giving away another of their Steam keys for this puzzler and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games.
Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
The problems section that used to be posted here in the Game review is now included in the Game Discussion FAQ's thread; which you can find HERE.
I've updated the games section that used to be posted with the review. The thread is now called 'Weekly round up of game deals', formerly the games section of the weekly reviews. You can find the new thread (which I've posted in the sticky section of the game discussion forums to make it easier to find if you are perusing the game discussion forums) HERE.
The rest of the information that used to be posted here can be found in the forums HERE. Don't forget, if you have an account with DOT.emu, you need to download any games you have before June, when the site closes permanently. Finally, check out Delenns thread over in the forums HERE. There are games available for free, some of which are limited to the number of free keys available. The thread is worth checking regularly as Delenn has been posting links to various freebies on a regular basis recently.
Thanks Alexa, appreciated. I will write up a proper review in the morning. Only just seen your message. Was just about to retire for the night . Been working on Tomorrows game review.
