I enjoyed this game, it was pretty good, although very short. I like games in which you find new items that increase your abilities along the way that allow you to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Another one not compatible with Win XP SP3 32bit. Oh well. Actually, we're lucky that so many of the games are.
1 other thing: I owe Ashoot or Falcoware an apology. I've been misreading the installer. You have to select to NOT have a start menu shortcut made by CHECKING the box. As opposed to having to check the box if you WANT a desktop shortcut or WANT a quick launch button pinned to the menu, which is the standard default for those 2. However, having a start menu item entered would be the standard default. My mistake! Sorry, Ashoot or Falcoware. Although, I still am a little bothered by the installer wanted to call up Internet Explorer (or maybe Edge, if I had it) rather than my default browser. Still, these games are appreciated. Thanks to all.

watcher13,
I'm not sure which version was given away here, but there are both 32 and 64 bit versions available here (also Linux 32/64-bit versions as well as a mac version):
https://artonix.itch.io/microgen-two-runes
If the one here was the 64 bit version, you may be able to get the 32 bit version working.
It's actually a pretty good game, but pretty short. Looks like it was an entry for a game development contest.
Some advice: Make sure you touch the "checkpoints" scattered around. They save the game and are where you respawn after death.
If you pick up an item and then die, you will respawn at the last checkpint you touched, but you will no longer have that item! you need to go get it again. So after you get a new item, it is best to touch a checkpoint to save the game, even if it is the same checkpoint you last touched (it will update the savegame).
I don't think the save is retained between executions, so you need to complete the game in a single session (or leave it running until you finish it).
Hints:
* The oar has multiple uses, if in doubt, throw the oar at it.
* The guy who wants 3 items, will continue to accept more of those 3 items and give you more stuff.
* There's one spot where you'll see someone way up high that you can't get to, you can get to it, just not from that side (although there is not much up there).
