We actually got this version last weekend though it was labelled Mahjong Magic Journey on the giveaway home page; but once installed turned out to be the third version. I'm wondering whether the giveaway team got the two games mixed up; so todays may be the first in the series; not the third? At the time of posting this, the game isn't available yet so I'm reposting last weeks review. I will change it if the game changes:

While we wait for the next game to be given away I have found an excellent Solitaire / Mahjong combo game called Pysol Fan Club Edition. It has many ways to customize the card appearances and background to your liking and has lots of customizable options. I found it to be very enjoyable.
PySol first started off as a project on Linux and eventually someone ported the game to Windows. The original developer of PySol called it quits a long time ago but since the game is open source the community has continued to pick it up and develop it further. The latest version released was May 2022. It has decent enough graphics to rival commercial applications of this variety.
Please read the whole page as well as warnings about false positives that may occur as a result of installing this game. https://pysolfc.sourceforge.io/

sailorbear510 aka Jason,
Hi Jason, Thanks for the heads up. Would you post details of this in the Free Game Project thread over in the Game discussion forums HERE ; it's a worthy game for that particular thread. Thanks.

I see where you said it was given away before so I checked and it's not on my system, but it did sound very familiar. Im not crazy about 8Floor Games as they churn out so many clones with a different picture, instead of creating something original or has new flair or respond to requests. However, I thought it looked good and it does have 3 different tile sets at least (I much prefer more tiles sets) so I installed and started it, and when I began the first round I realized why I remembered it- and didn't have it. The game will require you to go by their choice of "goals" - including things like a move limit, and Im guessing a time limit as well on some levels.
This is not optional, and I do not play with those constraints. I want games to relax with, not to pressure or stress me. I have enough stress in my life without creating more in games. So I uninstalled it, yet again.
I usually watch out for timers & limits, but I didn't look closely enough at the screen shots to catch the "move limit". :( I really wish game developers would make that sort of thing optional. If someone wants it, great, let them use it, but if you don't, then let your customers enjoy it without them- it doesn't hurt anything to let people enjoy something however they prefer.

I can tell this is a repeat :) I checked in my games icon folder that I already had this game in there. It may have been an error on the GGOTD part. I compared your screen shots to the game I had in my folder to confirm. It's still a decent mahjong game for those who may have missed it, but I'm hoping that GGOTD can correct this error and offer a different game for those users who visit the site. If not it's OK.
8 Floor seems to have sales on Steam all the time but then again it results in the use of a third party client. FYI I checked out the official 8 Floor website here: https://8floor.net/ and they talk about their projects. However when clicking on the links for Steam on their web page it directs to an app on the Google Play store.
Still if you are not bothered by 3rd party download clients you could rack up some games when on sale for next to nothing. Speaking of Steam, sometimes it's hard to navigate the sales on client itself. But once you master the filters you will find a lot of great gems in there. Many are under $2 so you can play stuff from HO games to Mahjong and so forth.
Sales change all the time however.

sailorbear510 aka Jason,
Yes, just confirmed it myself. I think they were supposed to post the first one in the series last week, but mistakenly posted this one. Maybe they will swap todays over to the first one once they become aware?
