Magic Bookshop: Mahjong is quite an old arcade game evidenced by the slightly pixelated graphic (not so obvious in the images below, but when in game.........). That said the game is an interesting take on Mahjong Solitaire and Time Management games. You can see a video of game play HERE

Magic Bookshop: Mahjong is a top tier mahjong game that stands out from the crowd not only because it executes the gameplay aspect to a point near perfection but also because it comes with a really distinct theme that’s unlike any other seen before in the genre. Overall, the game has a lot of enjoyable moments to offer and is certainly capable of keeping anyone who tries it out entertained for countless hours.

Upon starting off in Magic Bookshop: Mahjong for the first time, you’ll first be introduced to the game’s basics with the help of a tutorial sequence. The tutorial sequence spans itself across the first few levels of the game and does an excellent job of teaching newcomers all the crucial basics. What’s great about the tutorial is the fact that it’s been incorporated into the standard gameplay which means that players will be able to progress through the game while learning about it which is great.

In terms of gameplay, Magic Bookshop: Mahjong plays out like any other mahjong game worth its salt would. First off it’s worth mentioning that there are absolutely no technical difficulties or issues that might hinder the gameplay in any way. Moving further, the method of playing is pretty much the same as the traditional style of mahjong. In order to complete a level you must clear the entire layout of tiles and to do so you must match together the identical ones by clicking on them in succession.

Of course it might sound quite simple on paper but there’s actually a lot more depth to this than meets the eye since there are various kinds of power-ups in the game that are referred to as elixirs and can be used for a variety of helpful tasks. Elixirs can be used to show you the next possible move, to remove a few specified tiles from the playing area or highlight all the tiles that are available for usage. Overall the inclusion of these is much welcomed since they add some much needed depth to the game.

The real highlight of Magic Bookshop: Mahjong without a doubt lies in its top tier visuals and highly distinct theme. Instead of having an eastern setting like your usual run of the mill mahjong game, it instead has a more magic oriented medieval theme that feels quite refreshing and is really pleasing to look at. This theme also means that there are lots of cool magical animations that add a lot of visual flare.

When you download this game for the first time you’ll be able to play it for 60 minutes on a trial basis. When the 60 minutes expire you can purchase it for its usual price which will lift all time restrictions and allow you to play as long as you want.

Magic Bookshop: Mahjong is a fantastic game with high quality game play and a distinct theme that makes it stand out from the crowd.
