This is due to regional preferences.
We can check on 1000 computers in our region, and all will work.
And in the neighbouring region will not start on any computer.

I'm very disappointed in this... it crashed immediately upon running.

I have to say.... this game is a waste of time - download it, installed it and it does not work.... if I have seen these other comments I would not have downloaded it and tried to install it on 2 different computers. It is not so easy to uninstall it tries to do something in the background but my firewall program picked it up (tried to install something). I'm not happy that GGOTD did not check this game before giving us suckers the problems. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

I Know that it is free but we should not have to be the people getting all the problems and finding the lies that this program (game) is so called free somewhere else and that site / company has a bad rep.

Wow being a mom I wont even download this game off of the story really dissappointed in it. I normally dont leave post just down load the games and I play them as well as my kids but this one I wont touch what a bad influnce.

I definitely wont be reviewing this one over on the forums. I thought a fix may have been given by now as the majority of communty members do seem to have been having an issue. But on downloading it again 17 hours later I got exactly the same problem. I suppose anyone interested could check MyPlayCity at some future date (if they don't mind the adware) to see if it's been fixed; in the meantime the post I made above does contain a couple of games that do seem similar to todays giveaway. (Mad Truckers and KGB Hunter)

That being said, I agree that there is sometimes too much violence in most games nowadays, and that they try to make criminals and crime appear... glamorous, I guess? That being said, I loved the Godfather movies growing up (and game on PS2), and would have probably loved to be like Michael Corleone. (don't have any kids yet, but don't think I'll let them watch it till they reach "of age".) despite all that, i haven't had anyone whacked yet. haven't run anyone over with a car, or blown up any houses either despite all the carnage i've caused with my PS2 and PS3. (have had the urge on occasion though, mostly at work :P)

morals are good. but since not everyone has our same values, it'd be best to just shield the ones we love from what we find objectionable until they are old enough and mature enough to understand it. they'll have to learn it at some time or another.

Einhander....Oh, I got his point, just had to mention how in reality he seemed to be agreeing with us. As some people have accused we, at least me of the we, are not trying to keep them from playing their games. I just know that all too many times these horrible games, movies, even books, get into the hands of young impressionable kids whose parents DON'T teach them good moral standards. But as someone else said, they do sell and that's why people make them and sell them. Also, as a parent I don't think it's a good practice to have a "don't do as I do, do as I say" attitude. Beekersguy said he played the games but he wouldn't let his son play, isn't that like smoking but telling your kids, "If I catch you doing this I'll knock your block off"? I absolutely do not have a "Holier than thou" attitude believe me, there but for the Grace of God go I. Regardless of what you believe, the statistics show that because we see so much violence we are softened to stuff that once made us cringe. When I was younger I didn't believe that either, but now I see it in my own life, and I'm not, by my own choice, as exposed to violence as lots of people are.

So anyway, I know this shouldn't even be discussed here so I'll say no more on the subject, and if you, the GGOTD moderators, want to cut this out that's your choice.....no hard feelings here....I very much appreciate the free games you offer and I've gotten some great ones in the short time I've been here (LOVE Magic Farm - lol). By the way, my original complaint, at least what I meant it to be, was not the type of game, it was the fact that there was spyware/adware attached. Thanks guys for a great job and for your patience.

Well, i must say i must believe im a lucky guy, because, after reading all the problems, i went ahead and said "it wont happen to me", and installed this game.
well, result was a surprising crash on my pc, with no way out besides a reboot.

Okay love this site but........... lately I fill I have tested more games than I have played!!!!!!! I dont mind testing games, I think we should be warned before we install the game. PSS.... love this site vist everyday.

In a word if you don't like the game or don't like the theme Don't DOWNLOAD it but don't try to force YOUR morals on other people. I guess its okay to help a character "steal" or "kill other people" because his character is labeled the "HERO".
I'm sure GOAD censures out the 'way out in left field games' and don't need you telling others what we should be able to down-load.If it's not to your liking or not what you want your children to play DON'T download...stick to your match 3, but don't deny me the right to decide if I want to try the game. well playcity.com does have some spyware. i got spyware from it quite some time ago, thats how i know,,plus some of their games suck.

I don't want to seem unappreciative to GGOTD. I do look forward to the games and appreciate them very much... however I do have one point to make.

This is a PLAYCITY game, therefore I won't even bother downloading it and probably won't from now on. I mean between the moral philosphising above, every comment is negative on this game and it has crashed for pretty much everybody. Why bother downloading it?

Now normally I would say its ridiculous to not download a game based on the company.. but lets look at the record. This is company that gave us the infamous GREEDY SPOOKS. This is the game that couldn't get past about level 5, just a few weeks ago. They "fixed" it and apparently no one could get to the last level.. I didn't even bother after that. Didn't want to get that far and then crash again. Its too infuriating. I, also, detected spyware more than once.. this is probably just adware, but it brings down the integrity of this fine site and quite frankly makes us all look stupid.

So I boycott downloading PlayCity now and forever. Go ahead and say "ITS FREE!!! QUIT COMPLAINING!!" Well, call me an agitator.. call me a spoiled brat.. you probably will because some of you will think it.. but why waste our time and make GGOTD look bad? If free is all you're after I have some nice free stuff in the catbox. If this post makes it through I urge you to just think about it. This company is just not worth denegrating this site anymore.

What is all this crap about "lessons for our youth"? If your kids are being taught "morals" and "lessons" from video games, the state should probably act in the best interest of this child, and put it somewhere healthy. Geez - get your head out of your behind. I have an 8 year old, and video games don't shape his world view. Why? Well, I don't let him play games that glorify crime. I play them, but not in front of him.
Is it better to enjoy the action of "evil" in a game, or would you rather see people take out their frustrations in more college campusses? (e.g. NIU, Virginia Tech, etc.)

#26 + #39 : I like a good rant as much as the next guy, but I don't think I'll take any lessons from someone who doesn't know the difference between "moral" and "morale".

When did we all stop being parents? When did that job fall to our computers, our XBOXs, PS3, televisions and all the other electronic devices we own? So game developers make games where the storyline may "glamorize" the dark side. Television shows make crooks look like the cool folk. Songs sing the praise of being illegal. It's the market that drives this. As long as the product makes the creator buckets of cash, sequels and copycats are created. Our job as parents is to get in the lives of our kids, see what they are doing, and regulate it. When did the law get passed that says I am not allowed to poke around in everything my kids do? As a parent, I NEED to be nosy. I need to know who they talk to, what they listen to, what they watch and what they play. I can have a friendly relationship with my kids (and I do with both of them), but I am first their parent. My job is to hopefully raise them right - morally, relationally, spiritually and personally - and them let them go and hope I did a good job. I cannot be their best friend and their parent. It's one or the other.

If you want a prime example of how the market drives the industry, look no further than "The Chronicles of Narnia". It was such a huge box office success that not only are more books in the Narnia series being developed, but studios are scrambling to find and produce other Christian based themes. Had Narnia failed at the box office, so many other movies would have never seen the light of day.

So if you want to make a change in the world, throw your money behind what you believe in, and shun from supporting stuff you don't. Realize, though, that others may not match your moral ground, and things you despise will still exist. As much as we may want to impose our morality to benefit the world in a positive way, it may not work out as we planned.

The magic is all you can make it go away. There are many buttons that fix the problem. Some have the name "off". Others are "change channel". Also "reset". Just hit one.

The game is horrible tough, but works.

The only thing i have to say is that it only works on XP for me, with vista i got blank screen at starting the game. (i got both systems, in dual boot)

It crashes for me when it's trying to load up. To be sure it wasn't my Flash player (I saw it was a Adobe/Macromedia-related error from the game in my system logs) I checked to ensure both Flash and Shockwave are current - they are... And all of the Windows Update items for me are unrelated (the only one it lists is a modem driver for a modem I have disabled in my system anyway) so I have to conclude it's something with the game itself. There has to be something in the way it executes the flash movie interface that's causing the problem(s) I am having - and by the sounds of it many of us are having this problem...

Downloaded quickly, installed smoothly, crashed, crashed, crashed, uninstalled cleanly (but I'll run three or four anti spy programs and disk redactor just to be sure).
Playing games CAN be used for military training, but to most people they're just fantasy. Well, I'm off to go crush some people in my tank now. [reference to yesterday's game. 8)]
If there are actually people at GGOTD reading these comments, I've mentioned in the past that I wished they'd reoffer a dominos game from last year, but that I didn't remember the company. the other day they offered Boku Soduko. I passed because I'm not smart enough to do math homework for fun. but that was the company. Last year GGOTD offered Boku Mah-Johngg and Boku Dominos and both were excellent games (that I lost during a full system recovery.) I sure hope they - or something similar - get offered again.
Loving Robbox, Extinction, Sky Aces, Minigolf Championship. And in spite of my previous snarky remarks, I'm finding the lullaby music in Bubble Ice Age hypnotic and very relaxing and addictive. The variety of games here lately has been very impressive, as has the quality. I've never been good at most post-Atari racecar games, so It's just as well that this one doesn't work for me - and apparently so many other people, either.

"MyPlayCity" often has "new" game offers @ "www.download.com". Too many to describe here. - They All take your browser to "MyPlayCity" website upon game exit. - There is never a "time limit" to d/l. & are always "free". - No thanks to "MyPlayCity" for todays offer which is always free anyway !
Disappointed with GGOTD for scraping the "bottom-of-the-barrel" & allowing this "bait & switch" slip by their usual high standards.

PLady...we all need to vent at times so don't feel bad. Personally, I agree with you. "They" have done studies that show that kids who play games like that are more likely to do it in real life, and if your kids shouldn't do it, neither should you, that way there's no need to try to keep it hidden from them. And, no, it's not just playing the games it's the TV programs and everything else that lowers our sensitivity to immorality. Don't try to tell me that doesn't happen because I've lived long enough to see that even I am not as appalled at some things as I was years ago simply becasue I've seen so much.
