The Game:
The following rewview was posted on 12th March 2018 by Casual Game Guides (reference provided at the end)

Lost Artifacts: Time Machine is yet another offering this month in the time management genre and it does not disappoint this addicted fan.

I admit, upon seeing the game, it seemed a bit simple at first, and I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I’ve played a lot of quality resource management games lately and Lost Artifacts had a lot of competition to vie with.

The graphics seemed a bit childish and cartoony compared to say Viking Brothers 5, but it did have a certain charm to it if you could get past the strange story line and loopy characters. The concept of the game is that there’s some evil villain out there destroying important structures, but you can control time with your scientists, so you can go restore these places. Now I expected these placed to be important historic buildings, but the very first one I had to restore was a Ski Resort, so clearly, I was way off the mark. But whatever, I’m not really concerned with the story in these kinds of games, so I wasn’t put off much.

What I did really like about Lost Artifacts: Time Machine was the need for a strategy from the get-go. Most resource management games, you can jump right in and start clicking away without having to worry that your task has a negative consequence. With Lost Artifacts, I quickly realized if I didn’t collect and use the resources in a certain way, I wasn’t going to be able to move forward on the path. I had to restart a few times in order to try different strategies before I found the one that worked for me. This added a unique challenge to the game that I really enjoyed.

Lost Artifacts: Time Machine is available in a Collector’s Edition, which means it comes with the normal set of goodies such as concept art, bonus levels, and a Lost Artifacts: Time Machine Walkthrough integrated into the game. In my humble opinion, this game just didn’t seem to warrant the CE version, so I’d definitely recommend waiting for the standard version if you’re picky about which Collector’s Versions you spring for.

All in all Lost Artifacts: Time Machine was a cute little game packed with 40 levels of gameplay that were challenging and fun to play. If you want to play Lost Artifacts for free and take the game for a test-drive yourself, you can download and play the game free for 60 minutes. Just click on the “install” button above to get started.

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 5 hits (Kingsoft, Panda, Rising, VBA32 & Zilliya) from 60 antimalware engines. These are five of only several that often tag MyPlayCity games from all the others; most of which are better known and more reliable, but 55 other antimalware engines found the installed game safe, so it's very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Check out the list of games I've linked to near the bottom of this comment that are 90% off; I've played them all and can highly recommend most of them
The latest free game from Epic Games is the map based Europa Universalis IV , an empire building game that gives you control of a nation to guide through the years in order to create a dominant global empire. Next week we will be getting PC Building Simulator - Build and grow your very own computer repair enterprise as you learn to diagnose, fix and build PCs. With real-world licensed components and comprehensive hardware and software simulation, you can plan and bring your ultimate PC to life.

Indie Gala have added more games to their showcase section HERE, e.g. One-bit Arena, Crazy Space Pirate, Marvin the Hatter, Pirate Codex, DreamTime, I LIKE THE FLOWERS, Project Restart, A Maze In Opportunity, Skull Rogue, Mirage Online Classic, In the world unknown, Dissociation, The little witch Edwina and Hard Place Once added to your Indie Gala library, they will always be available to download; even when they have been removed from the free list. All the leisure Suit Larry games have now been removed..

You can usually find links to Steam and non Steam freebies via Delenn's threads over in the forums HERE (non-Steam) and HERE (Steam). Thanks a million for keeping these threads updated frequently Delenn, it's really appreciated by me and I'm sure many other community members.

The latest Humble Choice bundle went live on the first Tuesday of the month (the next bundle will unlock this Tuesday the 5th October); so, this is your last chance to get the excellent PGA Tour 2K21 with a pile of other excellent games on the cheap.

If you have the original subscription before it changed from the Humble Monthly to the Humble Choice bundle, you get all 12 games in the bundle, plus a DRM free arcade game called Sluggish Morss Pattern Circus and access to all the games in the Humble Trove while your subscription is live. The Humble Trove includes around 75+ titles. The DRM free titles you can download and keep forever. The other games in the Trove can be downloaded and played while your subscription is live. If you suspend a month you lose access to those games for that month. They are adding games to the Trove virtually every month. Here's just a few examples of what's included in the Trove. Race the Sun: Challenge Edition, Zodiac II, Volantia: Kingdom in the Sky, Shady Knight, 20 minute Metropolis, Keyboard Sports, When Ski Lifts Go Wrong (this is £14.99 on Steam, you get the DRM free copy, so can still play it if you suspend your subscription). Also includes Valhalla Hills (another Steam game worth £7.99, but you get the DRM free version), Broken Sword 5, Runestone Keeper, Bomber Crew, (another DRM free copy that is £14.99 on Steam), Drawkanoid (£3.99 on Steam), Actually quite a few of the games in the Trove are also on Steam, but you always get the DRM free version.

There are different choice subscriptions available, details of which you can find HERE.

If you subscribe, it doesn't tie you in to buy every monthly choice bundle. If you find the latest bundle isn't for you, just go to your account page and suspend that month. This has to be done for each months bundle if you don't want them before your subscription is due for that month. Apart from the amazing bargains found with these choice bundles; there is always at least one or two premium AAA games, plus several other AAA and high level indie arcade games included in each bundle.

This months bundle would set you back £211.68 (approx' $290) if you purchased all of the games and includes PGA Tour 2K21 (£49.99), Neon Abyss (£15.99), Not For Broadcast (£19.49}, RÖKI (£19.49), Narita Boy (£19.99), West of Dead (£15.49), Atomicrops (£11.39), Heaven's Vault (£19.99), Swag and Sorcery (£9.99), Fort Triumph (£15.49), Orwell: Ignorance is Strength (£7.19) and Framed Collection (£7.19). For me, just the cost of Swag & Sorcery takes care of the cost of the whole bundle with change; (the bundle cost me £8.72 (the cheapest you could get it) because I had subscribed to the monthly bundle before it changed to the Choice bundle); so, I'm very pleased with this months choice, especially as several were on my wish list. The last one listed, I already had, so gave it to a friend. :)

The extra game is a weird DRM free graphic oriented game on the lines of those point & Click adventure games by Amanita Design; e.g. as Samorost 1 (free on Steam) and Samorost 2, Machinarium and Rocket man, but is much more psychedelic and wacky. (If you get the bundle make sure you turn down the volume when playing Sluggish Morss Pattern Circus as it's rather jarring in places, but oddly, does fit the game.

If you come across any games that are worth downloading, please do post details and links in Delenn's threads HERE (non-Steam) and HERE (Steam). Thank you in advance.

Steam DB list all the games on sale via Steam HERE . You can also list them in how much discount they include (%) by clicking on the down arrow next to the % sign at the top of the sales list. This sorts out all the games on a 90% off and lists them at the top of the list. You may have to click on the down arrow a couple of times to get them to the top. Each week there are at least two or three pages of these 90% off games (100 games per page); and, often include some real bargains like last weeks two Warhammer games. This week I highy recommend the following games to consider, all with 90% off:
Deponia: The Complete Journey, Stronghold Crusader 2, Gravel, CONTRA: ROGUE CORPS, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zero, Blind, UBERMOSH COLLECTION, Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Pathologic Classic HD, Offroad Racing - Buggy X ATV X Moto, DuelVox: Max Quality, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 WINGDIVER THE SHOOTER, Tanks 2020, Anna's Quest, Figment, Demolish & Build 2017, Randal's Monday, Collapse, Hard West (complete edition 91% off), Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO (all DLC 90% off as well), Xeodrifter Special Edition + Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Diluvion: Resubmerged, Unclaimed World, Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space, Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders, 911 Operator (all DLC also 90% off), Moto Racer 4, AER Memories of Old, Orbital Racer.

All the games I've listed above I already have and recommend all of them; most are also recommended by the majority of Steam community members. There are over 200 more games with 90% off . It would take me hours to list them all with links here. Check them out for yourselves via Steam. You can see the full list of game son Sale HERE.

The following third person adventure games i.e. Syberia and Syberia II are free on Steam at the moment, plus a third game in the series called Syberia: The World Before - Prologue HERE is always free.

As has been mentioned by Claire, there is an error on level 29. In researching it, I heard this error affects a few levels above that one as well. But they said there was a patch. Not that I found it though.

So beware, any would be player, you will hit a wall at level 29.

Other than that I was able to get gold on all lower levels except #11. Seems to be impossible to get gold on that level from what I've read. Think I watched a youtube video of some guy doing it but the timer was moving much slower on his version. He seemed to be doing some pretty sloppy playing and still got the gold.

sherry storey,

Hi Sherry, sounds like your security has either deleted the executable or blocked it.

These weekend game include a Themida wrapper that is blocked by some security software as a precaution because Themida wrappers can also hide malware.

In level 29 there is a bug. After the first click to collect supplies, the character comes out of the tent and remains there, whatever one does.

Claire,

Hi Claire, Thank you for your feedback, this has been reported on several other sites. Pity as it's a decent game.
