I had the same problem with the controls I'd often die simply because I was in the process of jumping across a gap then landing straight to an enemy. As I was using both hands on the key board to do the jump, I wasn't able to use my sword.

For this game to work the jump key would need to be the W or the up arrow so that you could keep one of your hands free for the mouse control

I am glad that WhiteRabbit-uk posted the controls. This game is off to a bad start as it does not display the in game controls through the interface nor does it have configurable options.

Not only do you have to use the keyboard letters to move your character but you also have to depend on the space bar and mouse button to use your sword. I'm sorry but that's way too many controls for me even though I have some keyboarding skills for FPS

I found myself dying several times not being able to jump over certain things, the collision of what happens when you touch or enact certain scenarios to trigger a game over are way off.

I'm generous that this was provided to us for free as a stand alone free standing game but it's way unpolished and in my opinion could be unplayable for many people.

There have been more playable games offered by the Itch IO site but this one is not one of them unfortunately.

Light Knight:

In Brief:
Light Knight was released over on itch.io two days ago by Keyro. we get a free standing copy courtesy of Falcoware Games. It's a side scrolling platformer. Kill your enemies before they kill you.

There are fifteen levels to navigate through. Avoid falling off your platforms and the various obstacles you come across (e.g. spinning circular saw's). You can move the crates to help cross some gaps if needed. You start with four lives, but if you get cut by a saw or fall off a platform you lose all your lives in one go. Despatch your enemies using the left mouse button.

To progress to the next level reach the portal which automatically takes you to the next level. All levels are unlocked from the outset.

The graphic is cartoon like, enemies vary as you progress, but are limited to just a few types. There are no saves, or continues from your last game, just select the level you want to play.

LMB = use weapon
Space = Jump
Esc = Pause
A or left arrow = move left
D or right arrow = move right
Last Knight is a simple and relatively easy platformer, though I did find that there was at least one hidden area where you just fall through the platform in level 14; whether this is meant to be part of the game or whether it's a bug, I cannot say, but I was unable to progress to the end of that level as I couldn't figure out exactly where the hidden pit was or how wide the hidden drop was. I tried at least 15 times and died every time. If you do die on a level, you start from the beginning of the level you died on.

I found the levels too short, with at least one that could be completed in a matter of seconds. (I'll let you find out for yourselves which one.

Overall Light Knight was not a game I enjoyed playing because it lacked variety of enemies and apart from a few colour changes, the environments were virtually identical from level to level. It was too simplistic and over far too quickly (apart from level 14 because of the possible glitch).

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 54 antimalware engines.
You can see the results of the installed games scan via the following link:

If you're still not convinced of the games efficacy and want to be absolutely sure that the game is safe to install, please use a sandbox program first, to check that the game is safe to install before installing it to your C drive or other drives on your computer (assuming you have more than one drive).

Personally I've never had any issues with any of falcowares games, even when the Falcoware installer was included.

There are free sandbox programs such as Sanboxie, GeSWall, BitBox, Windows Sandbox, Bufferzone (a six month commercial license was given away via the applications side of the project back in December 2009 HERE), Shadowzone, as well as others. (You'll find them all on the same page from Techwhoop.
