Nice game! The lack of speed up isn't for me. Also also, I have a few TD games to start too, so those go ahead in the queue.

A simple Tower Defense game

Introduction:

The barbarians are trying to enslave your kingdom, stop them! Build towers that will fire at the enemy. Also, the towers have their own unique features, which should be used wisely. Use additional skills to keep the enemy out of your castle. Mining the paths that enemies follow, use slowing down to make it difficult for the enemy, use the explosion to destroy crowds of enemies. Can you fight off the hordes of barbarians who destroy everything in their path? You can see a video of game play via the Steam store page HERE.

The Game:

Along the bottom of the game arena are your tower defenses, there are 9, all of which are available from the outset and cost from between 100 to 150 gold each. To use a tower click on it once, locate where you wish to place it, then click again. You need to be careful not to click a second time once you've picked up a tower until you know where you want to put it. There is no sell command or remove command, so once placed, its there until the end of the level.

The first level has 10 waves of enemies attacking your castle, the second wave 15 and as you progress the number of waves increase to 17 then to 20 etc. Your aim is to stop any enemy from entering your castle by strategically placing various tower defenses along the routes that the enemey may use. Each level (at least up to level three where I finished playing, there are three routes that the enemy can take, your first three waves introduce you to each route, then from the fourth wave, enemies come from all three routes.

There are two towers that slow the enemies down , the cheapest of which (costs 100) only remains on the arena for a short period, the more expensive tower (150) is a better choice as it is a permanent fixture for the rest of the level.

My first attempt at the game ended in disaster within four waves. I chose to select the fast acting and slow acting tower defenses that cost 120 and 150 respectively and lost all my castles 30 lives. On my second attempt I varied my choice of tower defenses, preferring the slow 150 tower that had a high damage rate of 25. This became my choice of tower for most of the remaining waves right up to level three and I only lost a few lives in level 1 and no lives in level 2 and 3. However, this game does become harder as you progress, with new enemies being introduced towards the end of level 3. Balloons that fly across the fields and don't follow the main routes to the castle. I lost two lives before I realised what was happening. I did find it east to become complacent on level 3 when I'd set up about 30 towers by wave 6 or 7 and didn't need to set up anymore. My gold was increasing steadily, and on the penultimate wave it reached over 11000 gold, that's when the balloonists started to arrive, but, becasue you cannot see all of the map, I didn't notice them until they were upon my castle and I immediately lost a couple of lives before setting up more towers to protect the castle.

Overall, this is a simple Tower Defense game, slightly different from the ones we've been getting recently. For newcomers to the genre, this is a decent starter game. It does lack a speed up function that most have, but I didn't find that too much of a negative and overall I would recommend this to most community members. If you are an avid player of TD games and consider yourself adept, then this game may be too easy for you once you figure out the basic strategies of this particular version of the game, otherwise, definitely check this out.
