In Brief:
Todays game, Stolen Dreams, is a story driven puzzle based Hidden Object game with excellent graphics.
Spoiler alert ....... You’ll find ten videos of game play associated with the series of videos I've linked to, that walk you through the complete game HERE. Video lengths range from just over 6 minutes to 12 minutes each. Banner ads do appear; just click the x in the top right corner of the banner to get rid of them.

You can see some Big Fish mini reviews and comments of Kronville: Stolen Dreams HERE as well as forum discussions HERE, and a written walkthrough HERE.
Introduction:
Walk the razor's edge between fantasy and reality as you stop a lunatic from gaining power over death! When 12 children vanish from the once peaceful town of Kronville, a school teacher named Astrid becomes wrapped up in a mystery beyond her comprehension. Guide her as she investigates the disappearances, and in so doing uncovers an evil plot involving an ancient artifact that can grant immortality. With each step on this perilous journey, you'll need to explore the city with a careful eye and solve cunning puzzles designed to keep you from discovering the truth.
Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-004

Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-005
In addition to scouring the streets of Kronville, your investigation will take you into the dreams of the kidnapped children, where a dark entity has trapped their souls. As you work your way through worlds based on "Red Riding Hood," "Peter Pan," and other popular fairy tales, you'll marvel at the visual beauty and become more and more immersed in the captivating story. Those who press on to the end will uncover a shocking secret about Astrid's past that suggests her involvement in the case was no accident. With its clever hidden object puzzle scenes, stunning artwork, and mesmerizing story, Kronville will hold you captive from beginning to end!

The Game:
Children had been mysteriously disappearing from the town of Kronville, and school counselor Maisy decides to take it upon herself to solve the mystery of the disappearing kids. Have they been kidnapped? Are they still alive? It’s a race against time in Kronville: Stolen Dreams, and it’s up to you to find out what is going on and solve the enigma once and for all.
Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-006

Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-007
The storyline for Kronville seems something that’s been drawn out of an award-winning psychological movie. Maisy is a counselor, someone who’s trained to try and read the minds of the children that they are responsible for. Moreover, the character design resembles a popular film actress in Hollywood. The excellent graphics are rounded out by the game’s dialogue, which is composed of voices from professional voice actors.

The game’s narrative is carried forward in two ways – solving the game’s mini games and puzzles, and engaging in dialogue with the various characters in the vicinity. The dialogues take on a similar tone to RPGs – once you have engaged in a dialogue with a character, you can choose what to say and that will dictate how the character reacts, and how the story moves forward.
Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-008

Kronville-Stolen-Dreams-009
This is probably based on the manner that counselors talk to their clients, as you have options to be gentle and supportive with your questioning, or brash and irritating.

In any case, the puzzles in Kronville: Stolen Dreams are worth mentioning. Much of the game’s puzzles are mini-games rather than actual Hidden Object puzzles. At the start of the game, you’ll be required to solve a puzzle that involves moving a satellite through a solar system without touching on any square that you have already steered the satellite through before.

There are clues scattered all over the game, and you have to find these in order to solve certain puzzles as well. For instance, a table near the start of the game has a code carved into it by a child using a screw. You’ll find out in a while that the code is actually the code to unlock the kid’s locker. You have to be inquisitive and take note of nearly everything you find in the environment.

The game also has small goals that you should accomplish. You have, for example, give the electrician the insulating tape that he needs in order to finish the job that he is working in. Another example is finding a means to retrieve a cabinet key from where it was stuck, and this requires a pair of tweezers that you have to look for in your character’s office.

There is also the pit bull barring you from entering your apartment. To solve this, you need to talk to its owner and get the ball from him so the pit bull can be distracted. He’d require a sandwich, one that you found earlier in the school.

Of course, you have a Hint button that you can use in order to get out of places in which you can’t seem to find a means to progress from. Its use is unlimited throughout the game.

Beautiful graphics, a compelling storyline and challenging gameplay – these are the factors that make Kronville: Stolen Dreams worth trying

Conclusion:
I only played todays game giveaway for a short time last time it was given away, and that was mainly to get screen captures for the review. I was impressed by the story driven adventure and beautiful (though somewhat morbid) graphics. I can't give a full conclusion as I still haven't played the game long enough to justify one, also I haven't scored the game for the same reason. Unfortunately, today I'm going to be very busy. It's mothers day here in the UK and I'll be attempting to get my two adult children (aged 23 and 21) to do the things your children usually do for their mother on Mothering Sunday. I'll be spring cleaning the house, which will take all day as there are twelve rooms to clean thoroughly. That said, what little I did see, I'd say this game does look like a winner and that's being said from a community member who doesn't particularly enjoy playing HOG's.

Whiterabbit-uk,

Free or Discounted Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non-Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies. It's kept up to date frequently, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Steam Games:
For the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' order by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB (the Steam database) with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. There is an early access game presently free on Steam called KEO (usually £9.99).

Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links in the first paragraph above.

If you have a Steam account and like to collect soon to be removed games, there are at least four that I know of (thanks to Delenn) that are being removed soon. i.e. Gods Remastered (ENDS LATER TODAY a classic platformer from the early 90's that includes both the original and the remastered is being removed from Steam on the 27th March due to licensing issues. It's on sale with 90% off (£0.79/$0.99) until removal (a fantastic bargain) .

Knockout Checkers Chamber; has now been removed from Steam. I don't know of any other outlet that sells the game, but, if you still wanted the game, you may be able to find keys on the various Steam key sites, but there's no guarantee.

Three more games are being removed from Steam by the developer FarSky Interactive sometime in April; two are on sale for 70% off at the moment i.e. Far Sky and The free Ones. Sky Break is still full price, but we may see it reduced in a final sale before the games are removed?

If you've purchased any game that is later removed from the Steam store, you will still always be able to access it via your Steam library despite it no longer being available via Steam.
Indie Gala:
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:
1) ... Vroom Racing (Drive a Formula 1 car upon 18 worldwide tracks : Reach 380 Km/h and beat the ghost !)

2) ... Out of Puberty: Chapter 1 (graphic novel, contains adult themes and NOT suitable for children.)

3) ... Little Kite (ReRUN ... a point-and-click story driven adventure. This Game may contain content NOT appropriate for all ages)

4) ... Spring Bonus (NEW ... Match Three)

5) ... Unhack (NEW ... The 5K Worm is on a rampage across cyberspace. As the top unhacker in Smash Security, it is your mission to bring an end to this virus. Join forces with AI companion Weedy and become an unstoppable duo!)

6) ... Pixel Puzzles 2: Anime (NEW ... Jigsaw Puzzle)
Check the freebie section for the latest additions; if you've not visited for a while, also check the Showcase section for older freebies. All or most new freebies should be on the first page of the Showcase pages. We have been given over 340 games since I started to check the freebie section in 2018. But around 60% of those are no longer available free. The following recent freebies have now been removed from the free library: Last Dream, Trainpunk Run, Pixel Puzzles 2: Paintings, Hamsterdam, Copperbell, Chainsaw Warrior, Leisure Suit Larry 2 Looking For Love (In Several Wrong Places), Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards , Figment, Pixel Puzzles 2: Space, Revolution Ace, Six Sides of the World, Byte Family, Alone on Mars, Garfield Kart, Nostradamus the Last Prophecy, Snowball, Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas , Die Young (Full version), Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner, and Contract with the Devil.

Any game you claim while it's being offered is DRM free and will remain in your Indie Gala library permanently (unless Indie Gala goes bust) and can be downloaded at any time, under the showcase or freebie section; 115 games are still available. Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; e.g. the recent adventure puzzler Figment that costs almost £15 on Steam; so, you should grab them as quickly as you can. To find your games go to your account and from the drop down menu select 'My Library'. When the page opens find the 'Showcase' button in the banner along the top of the page and, from the drop down menu select 'Showcase'. There are only 8 games per page, so, if like me you have added hundreds to your account/library. Each page from your free list can take 30 or more seconds to move to the next page so it can take a good twenty minutes to get to the last page depending on how many of the free games you've claimed.
CD Keys:
Another decent site that you should check out regularly is CD Key HERE. They have some very good discounts on top notch AAA games for all the popular platforms (PC, PSN, Xbox, Nintendo), sometimes as much as 99% off. for example Madden NFL 22 is only £0.39 (usually £49.99), Grand Theft Auto V Premium Ed' 84% off (£7.99), Sims 4 85% off (£5.99), Star Wars The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition £1.79 , Dying Light Platinum Edition 92% off (£5.29 - includes 22 of the paid for 26 DLC's, with a further 11 free DLC's available.), Assetto Corsa 83% off (£3.99), Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition 91% off (£2.99), Civilization VI Platinum Edition 91% off (£8.99), Cities Skyline 90% off (£3.09), Hitman GOTY Ed' 92% off (£3.99), Sniper Elite 4 83% off (£6.99), Stellaris 99% off (£0.19), The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series 86% off (£5.49), Battlefield V 85% off (£7.39), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 89% off (£0.79), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords 89% off (£0.79), Planet Coaster 83% off (£4.99), Injustice 2 92% off (£3.99), Kerbal Space Program 85% off (£4.49) this is included in the Stand with Ukraine bundle, Fallout 3 GOTY Ed' 80% off (£2.99), Fallout 4 91% off (£3.49), Tekken 7 90% off (£3.99), Garfield Kart: Furious Racing 92% off (£1.09), Dawn of War Franchise Pack 97% off (£3.19 usually £99), Assassins Creed: Unity 91% off (£3.49), Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker 95% off (£1.99), Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition 86% off (£9.99), Outlast 2 90% off (£2.39), The Escapists 2 85% off (£2.99), Battlefield 1 Revolution 87% off (£7.99), Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior 2 89% off (£0.79), Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Season Pass Edition 96% off (£1.49), Elite Dangerous 84% off (£3.99), Killing Floor 2 89% off (£2.29), Lego: The Incredibles 93% off (£2.49), Lego: DC Super Villains 93% off (£2.49), Resident Evil Biohazard 90% off (£4.99), Resident Evil HD Remaster 87% off (£3.19), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 91% off (£4.99), The Evil Within 92% (£2.49), Metro Exodus Gold Edition 83% off (£9.99), Shadow warrior 2 90% off (£3.59), Warhammer 40 000 Space Marine - Anniversary Ed' 93% off (£2.99) plus many more amazing deals.

Be sure to check that keys from CD Keys are redeemable in whichever country you live in (it details where it can be redeemed) as prices and the ability to redeem keys in particular countries may differ. I've quoted prices from the UK pages of CD keys. I recently got an Origin key for Star Wars: Squadrons for 99% off, costing me £0.34; it usually retails for £34.99, I also got 32% off a pre order copy of Dying Light 2 a couple of weeks before it was released in February, saving around £20 off the release price.
Epic Games:
The latest Epic Game is called DEMON'S TILT a top down pinball game with SHMUP & Hack N' Slash elements (excellent take on Pinball).

Next Thursday 31th March we will be given City of Brass - a first-person action adventure from senior BioShock developers. Armed with scimitar and a versatile whip, you’ll lash and slash, bait and trap your way to the heart of an opulent, Arabian Nights-themed metropolis – or face certain death as time runs out and even better Total War: WARHAMMER - The critically-acclaimed Total War: WARHAMMER combines a turn-based campaign of epic empire-building with colossal and explosive real-time battles, set within the incredible world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles; (it's not my favorite Total War title, but still excellent game play)
Indie Bundles:
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2010 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be, with most of the bundles containing cheap stocking fillers and a lot of 'adult only 'hentai like ' games). The Humble site is, in my opinion, the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games, that used to be called Bundle Stars, looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. Presently Fanatical hosts fifteen bundles:

Mystery Bounty Bundle
Diamond Collection: Build your own Bundle
Killer Bundle 21
Platinum Collection: Build your own Bundle March
Build your own All Stars 4 Bundle
Guardian Bundle 6
Build your own Spring Bundle
Journey Bundle
RPG Maker Bundle
Build your own Backstage Bundle
Kings & Queens Bundle
Grey Alien Games Bundle
Build your own Anime Bundle
Build your own Ultimate VR Bundle 2
Indie Must Play Bundle

You can find the Fanatical bundles page HERE.

The latest Humble Choice bundle went live Tue 1st March; it includes seven Steam games and one Origin game. Desperados III, Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Origin), Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, Red Solstice 2: Survivors, Nebuchadnezzar, Police Stories and Evan's Remains. Subscriptions to the Choice bundle have recently been changed, levelling the ground for all subscribers. The monthly cost is a meagre $12/£8.99 with other benefits such as access to a lot of indie titles for free while subscribed and a percentage off other purchases from the Humble store. This discount increases the longer you stay subscribed up to a year with 20% off all none bundle purchases. (1 month sub' gives 10% off, 3 months sub' gives 15% off and six months sub 'gives 17% off). The next Humble Choice bundle goes live Tuesday 5th April 22.

The latest Humble Bundles include the following:

!) ... Europa Universalis IV: The Complete Collection Contains the base game plus 32 DLC's for £15.20 usually costs £390.89 (ends 13th April)

2) ... The Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle that includes Assetto Corsa Competizione, DRIFT 21, Automobilista 2, iRacing (3-month Subscription New Memberships Only), Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition, rFactor 2, NASCAR Heat 5 Ultimate Edition, Automobilista; plus, discount coupons for a couple of steering wheel controllers i.e. Thrustmaster T248 and Thrustmaster T150 - the coupons are only redeemable in the US while supplies last! (ends 30th March )

Free Game Project:
I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis; however, I won't be posting them daily this time, only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE. So far, I've posted eight excellent PC games, plus one android game as well as suggested or linked to others similar to the ones posted. I'll be adding more as and when I have the time or the mood takes me over the coming months.

Amazon Prime Gaming:
If you have Amazon Prime you also get access to a new set of free games every month. The March freebies include an Origin code for 'Madden NFL 22', and 'Surviving Mars' on Epic Games (this has been given away twice via Epic a few years ago on the 10th October 2019 together with a couple of the DLC and again on the 11th March last year; if you missed it both times here's your chance to finally grab the base game). There are also some downloadable games and a whole bunch of in game content for lots of big name games like League of Legends, GTA V, Red Dead Online, Dead by Daylight, Destiny 2, Battlefield 2042 and loads more. Visit Prime Gaming for details.
Other Free or Discounted Games:
Black And White Apocalypse that was given away mid January (HERE) by the developer Hammergames is always free via Itch.io and can also be downloaded as a colour version. You can find both versions via the following links Black & White version, and Coloured version. :) Hammergames also offer other games they have created free HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

Stay safe everyone.

Does anyone have any idea why these offers are only being delivered to my mailbox late in the evening or into the next day (when they have expired)? Lately this has been happening quite often. This particular one, offered on the 27th of March, arrived in my mailbox this morning of 3/28 at 3:29 am. Many times they arrive on the same day of the offer but late in the day, even after my bedtime, so I miss them. It used to be that they would come pretty much right after the day began at midnight of the day of the offering.

Naomi,

Hi Naomi,
Please excuse the late reply. It's been like that for quite some time. I stopped bothering with the emails a long time ago and instead just go directly to the site to see if there is a giveaway. Being a moderator I usually (but not always) do have advance warning of a giveaway, but I found it was still quicker just to boot up my browser and go straight to the giveaway pages. I have a link in my quick access links using Google chrome., so it's seconds of a job.

The same thing happened to me. Too bad, as I would have liked to pick this game up.

Naomi, Yes, it came into my mailbox at 2:29 am. exactly (CST). I would have loved to download it, but it's too late. :-(

Full screen is giving me trouble. Seem like a sync problem. hurting the eyes.

But when windowed, it's nice'n smooth with lovely resoultion.

the problem with the windowed screen is that it's much smaller than the FHD screen.

Have an ASUS ROG laptop, windows 10 home, 12 GB ram.

Kronville: Stolen Dreams was available as a giveaway on July 7, 2019

https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/kronville-stolen-dreams-2/

It was also given away [I think maybe Much] earlier than that, though it's too long ago for Google advanced search to find anything. "Game Giveaway of the Day. Today: Kronville: Stolen Dreams" is the title of the original bookmark I set for GOTD Games so many years ago.

mike,
Hi Mike it was given away 3rd January 2016. I thought I'd posted links to both giveaways, but they were in one of my earlier drafts, but not my final draft that I posted.

I tried this game although this is normally not my favourite type of game. It works and runs on windows 11. I found I enjoyed playing and will be keeping this on my computer. The story is interesting to follow and there is a variation on the games you play to solve the puzzles . Its worth trying.
