This is a lot of fun to pass time and conquer everything. Though the last few kingdoms we are having problems figuring out. But it's a lot of fun anyway.

I found Phantasia 2 to be a simple fun little game. But I did have a problem with it filling the entire 19" widescreen I use. It sits to the right. However, it plays great in the minimized mode. Another great game, thanks GGOTD, you guys rOck!

Installed easily on Vista Home Premium. No running issues. Uninstalled with no issues either.

I am normally one to be easily entertained but this became too repetetive too quickly. My four year old daughter on the other hand will happily sit and play this for hours. Not for me.

Good game - decent graphics, sound was muted as kids slept so not sure there. Easily enough controlled via arrow keys on the laptop. Could be a bit more responsive, however.

Won't poo-poo the game just because it did not suit me. I could easily keep replaying Puzzle Hero from last week!

Thank you again GGOTD!

This game has been on my computer for the past 6 weeks and I still enjoy playing it. So yeah, I don't mind they re-released it for those who might have missed it the first time.

I hope this site is still secure enough to have many games in the future.

All I can say is, THANKS GGAOTD team, for deleted comments that were unrelated and hasty replies to them. (I was one of them, I admit...) But that's not what this forum is about. It's about the game being offered. How all these morals get brought into a game is beyond me... but thanks for keeping a check on things. And to make this related, I like this game! :)

As for the game... not bad but not great. Not bad enough for a thumbs down by me at least. I had it , played it , but didnt keep my interest for long. My son however loves it and plays it often so Thank you GGOTD for the games and keep up the great work.

Thanks GGAOTD, I had downloaded this last time but didn't install it before the the time had expired. I knew I was missing out on a great game. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all of the great releases.

This is a fun little distraction from the rigors of larger MMORPG's. Similar to the Deepquest game offered prior, but is a bit on the short and easy side so it is best suited for youngsters.

One major issue was that every time I exited the game it screwed up my desktop to the point that I could do nothing but shut down cold and re boot. Issue did not change after a reinstall so it had to meet Mr Recycle Bin.

Some how I am not getting enough feedback as the game goes on to figure out what I am suppose to do or should have done. It took 15 to 20 minutes of play to find out that I lost. No hint of what I did wrong. I can't stay interested in a game that long just to find out the rules and how to play. I must have missed quite a bit in the introductory tutorial. By now I have lost so much interest in the game that I have no desire to watch the tutorial again.

So many of the games don't come with rules to play. If one is an occasional game player and has not played a particular style of game one needs the rules of play spelled out in detail. The game authors spend a lot of time developing a game, effort and money trying to market it and they lose out on a sale because they didn't spend a few hour writing directions. I don't consider having to figure out how to play a game as being a major factor in the game play itself.

Kingmania might be some fun to play. I won't ever know. I got to go now and release some disk space on the hard drive.

Hi Skye Hook,

Quite a few developer/distributors are now giving away free games, or have very generous offers available. I've recently got free games from Alawar, Real Arcade, Big Fish Games and BGames. Also you'll find NVidia and ATI both give free games away with all of their DX10 cards. You can get Crysis for free if you buy a NVidia 8800 GTS card. I've got Forbidden Planet and a couple of others for free after buying graphics cards.

Check out the games Discussion thread in the forums for loads of links to free games:

Hi Diane,
It says Open GL is recommended, but it doesn't say its necessary, so I'd go ahead and try the game. If you stumble into problems getting it to work, you can download open GL for free (see link below). Open GL is a type of graphics emulation program akin to DirectX. both developed independently of each other. As Direct X is a microsoft product, it became the industry standard, though many applications still use Open GL. You can download it from:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/18800

I hope this is of help.

Everyone have a great week.

Regards

Stephen

Furthermore, having followed the suggestions to go looking for it in a Games folder and creating my own shortcut, I repeatably get a message saying Kingmania has encountered and error and wants to send reports to Microsoft. Oh well, it was worth a tryy

Well I'm one of the newbies, so grateful for the repeat! That said, it downloaded OK and tells me it has activated.... but there's no icon on the desktop, nothing on the start button... so where is it??!
I'm running XP so was not expecting the problems the Vista person mentioned in an earlier post -
Since I couldn't get Puzzle Hero to do anything bar show an egg timer for 10 seconds, I suspect it could be my computer, but not being able to find the installed game to play it is definitely a downer for me!

I had just discovered GAOTD when this was offered before, and was in a hurry at the time, so didn't read where it said I had to install it before the offer expired, so I'm glad to get a second chance at it. (I'm having a blast with Puzzle Hero, btw.)

Got no problem with re-offering games, but 6 weeks is way too soon. After very much enjoying Puzzle Hero last weekend, the two recycled games this weekend were disappointing.

#33, pava - it also pays to read the DATE on the blog entry - June 7th. I do wish they would remove that from the main page as it confuses people.

I'm glad games are re-offered, some people ARE new to the site and miss some games from the past.

Thank you GGOTD!

#33, that link is from June 7, and pertains to another game, I believe.

I downloaded King Mania when it was last offered, and although it isn't my favourite type of game, I did find it fun to fiddle with. I've kept it to play with now and then, and I'd recommend trying it to anyone who didn't get it last time.

I'd like to give a hats off to the team here, for bringing us the games and software. It's great to be able to try out some of these games, and a huge bonus to be able to obtain the full versions for no charge. There are several games that I've tried that I didn't think I'd like, yet ended up enjoying them immensely. Thanks very much for your hard work!

Bear in mind that they used to give away a free game every single day. Then they cut back to weekends only, which means 8 games a month. Like some of you, I also find it a bit annoying that they are giving away the same game again after just six short weeks. Thankfully, I am still playing one from last weekend's offerings so I'm set for a few more days. ;-)
I *do* appreciate the offerings here even though I am whining about the lack of them - because I miss the DAILY game giveaways!!

I downloaded this when it was last offered. It's entertaining in a mindless sort of way; not great for long periods of time, but I find myself pulling it up every once in a while when I want to kill fifteen or twenty minutes. The quotes and story bits in the intro and between levels are clever.... I could wish for more options on how to rotate the display while you're playing, but that's just nit-picky since the game is still very playable with what they give you.

It pays to read the news notes linked from the main page:

http://blog.giveawayoftheday.com/game-giveaway-tomorrow-pay-attention-big-hits-coming-back/

Hope your trip is successful, GOTD. I'm impressed with your commitment to keep up the offerings even when you're far away and concentrating on other matters. Thanks!

Your blog says the game has new features since last offered. That, and the fact that this is a time-limited download, has convinced me to download it again, see what's new, and start the time-limited countdown all over again.

Lighten up, commenters. The offering is still free. This site is a blessing. Period. Instead of posting your disappointment, go outdoors for awhile and enjoy some fresh air away from your PC.

I'm glad they did give it away again, as I didn't manage to get it the first time. It is rather short, but I did quite like it. Maybe they'll have add on packs and levels later on.
Hopefully they'll giveaway Jets n Guns away again, as that looks good also.

It was a rather recent offering at this site. Downloaded it and have been playing it till now. Jets and Guns (from the same publisher) is still better in my opinion, but this game is also a keeper, so was 'Troll' (again, from the same company). For those who missed this offering six weeks ago, better try this one. I personally has had no complaint whatsoever. Thanks GAOTD and 300AD for their great games.

I downloaded and played it last time, a little over a month ago... It was ok but not real exciting. I uninstalled it about 3 days after I installed it. My 13 year old son didn't really care for it either. Although others may love it. I guess it all depends on the individual. Thanks GAOTD for the games... they are all worth a try!
