Great little game. Tried moving the .exe icon into the Games folder on my desktop, but it wouldn't launch from there - was looking for a dll file. Strange thing happened though - all of a sudden AVG found a trojan in the .exe icon for Big Kahuna Reef. That game icon has been in this folder for over a year and neither my previous Norton or AVG found anything before. I double checked the Big Kahuna .exe on the install disc and it came up clean. Go figure.

Also have to manually set my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 for the cursor to be in the right place. But still, a great game in which I've already whiled away several hours.

I like this game (not as much as bookworm adventures which I adore) but it is fun and competitive with other good word games like the original Popcap Bookworm. I wish it would let you type the letters on the keyboard or AT LEAST submit them with the enter key to save time. You can drag across letters to collect them which is faster than clicking them all.
The biggest problem for me is it keeps crashing. Anytime I submit a work from the bonus list at the bottom of the screen it crashes immediately. It also does this at other time (I suspect this corresponds to earning the 500pts-single-level medal) which I can never get (only one) but seems like it should be an easy one.
I would REALLY like this game if it accepted 9 and 10 letter words from a more advanced dictionary.
I was enjoying playing the game when I limited myself to 8 letter words (except I will clear straggling letters from the top row in order to 'reload' the letter supply) but even that got old/easy/boring. As it is I have just given up playing the game since I never seem to use a life and the last medal seems impossible to get without crashing. Also, the 'words collected' statistic at the end of the levels seems wrong. I can make 40 words and it will say 16. BEcause of the crash problem, zero of the words I made were bonus words so it cannot refer to them.
Looks like this promising title still needs some work.

"Keywords" is a blast to play. I have collected all but one of the trophies (the "30 words in 60 seconds" one is going to be really tough!), and I have really enjoyed the process. However, I do not like the fact that the words NUDE, COCK, COCKY, COCKLES, SEX, and SEXY are not allowed! Yes, the typical foul curse words are eliminated (should they be, though?), but the ones I have just listed are common, everyday words and are not always foul. Please let the game creators know that.

I added some missing words in the dictionary file and saw new words work alright.
diction.en.kw file at KeyWords\data folder is a simple text file and you can edit with any text editor.

I tried to add my own sounds such as tigress.ogg at
KeyWords\data\sounds\common_words
folder but failed. Those words - dog, cow - and corresponding ogg sounds are listed and managed somewhere else I guess. Because I kept the sound format(44KHz, 16bit, mono) or even tried copying existing file and renaming to tigress.ogg.

I haven't tested music.ogg file at
KeyWords\data\music
folder but I'd rather turn off music option and run WinAmp than bothering changing file name for only ONE ogg file for BGM.

The person who programmed this game is not a English native speaker I think. I found the name Borulya at property section of a sound file and I also could see some non-existent words from the dictionary file.

It doesn't matter who programmed it but it'd been fun if I could add my own sound files to common_words collection.

Great game and Thanks a lot again.

Thank you so much for a word game today ... I love Bookworm, so I gave this one a try. The install went quickly, setup was easy and the game played ok - moving tiles make me a bit dizzy and the word list contains many words I really do not belive exist. My first few words were 'adult' oriented, so this is just not a game for everyone!

I have always been able to download the full-versions of the offers - alway 'readme' first ... then do as it says like, 'activate', let the program connect and state it was successful, then - 'setup'.

Yep, the game allows racist words, and some words that may be okay in one country but is offensive in another.

I am in seventh heaven; have been hoping for a word game for a VERY long time.
Hooray!
It runs well and I have no complaints; it is a great game!
I would enjoy an untimed mode as an alternative for those days when I don't feel like rushing(just a thought!)

My husband is ADORING the Montezuma game too...

Thanks SO much GGOTD!

Fun game. I'm new to this site and tried the mini golf game a couple days ago but it froze up my machine so never got to actually play it. This one works better but does crash when I get a bonus word. Didn't see anything about this problem on the forums. Anyone have a suggestion or experiencing the same issue? Running XP sp2

I played this as a one-hour trial, and am glad that it's being offered here. When I was uninstalling it I was taken to a developer page which asked why I was doing so, so I told them this, and also thanked them for offering it here at GGAOTD.
Yes, I know the bonus words are not always sensible, but that doesn't detract from the fun.
I'm really glad when games I may have paid for are offered here. Thanks to all who achieved this.

For those who want to remove the "n" word so their children are not being instructed by the game to spell it:

The dictionary CAN be edited -- it's in the KeyWords/data folder. Open it in notepad. If you want a non-English version, you can also replace this file with a custom dictionary from your own language, provided that you keep the file name the same.

Normally, I wouldn't kick up such a fuss, but that was really offensive and inappropriate.

(I would add that I am going to try to edit the game's dictionary to remove that word before I play it again. The last thing i need is a child playing the game and getting that word as a goal)

I like this game, and I recommend downloading it.

My only complaint is the game's dictionary, which does not seem to recognize some words (I couldn't get it to let me clear "sex" or "sexual"). I thought perhaps the game didn't want me putting in words it deemed offensive, but then, as a goal, one of the words I was supposed to create was something so vulgar I had to shut the game down.

(I'll give you a hint -- it started with an "n" and was six letters long).

I'm not one to cry "racism!" when I play games, but clearly, this game is either using an out-of-date dictionary or it's been developed by someone who does not speak English as a first language.

Great game, reminiscent of Alchemy on MSN Zone, but I think this one is superior. It is clearly made by the same people as Numericon (also a great game!), as the bonuses and upgrading of them look and work the same way as there.

This one contains a lot of words. Unlike many other word games, I didn't encounter any word that I wanted to use that it didn't know about. Excepting intelligence, which was apparently longer than the maximum length it could take, a pity.

Thumbs up, way up!

This sounds good, but I'm unsure if I want to bother. I also downloaded MiniGolf, ran ACTIVATE.EXE before doing anything else, and found activate.exe just hung and couldn't reach the website. Tried on 3 computer all afternoon and evening -- they must have blocked me because I couldn't download the game again from any of the mirrors on the other computers and had to copy the first download over myself. All computers said "activate.exe" is timing out trying to phone home (for activation/registration code?) I wrote GOTD but got no reply. I don't know if it's worth trying more if the registration process won't work and you are left with a 60 minute trial -- there are enough trialware/shareware programs out there for me on other sites.

I still have this game from the previous offer. It is a nice game and well worth the download. I won't try to offer more on the game play. That has already been done much better than I could do. I would definitely suggest that those that don't have this to download and try it. Even if you don't have children this one is fun. Thank you again GGAOTD. I don't mind repeats. It gives me a chance to get some great games I may have missed. Thanks goes out too to the publisher Meridian 93.

This is a very good game. For the comments about there not being clear instructions....this is because the game is EASY to figure out. Not a lot of instruction needed to play it if you have any computer savvy. And the words at the bottom, although obscure are real words and definitions can be found online. For word game lovers - this is definitely a keeper.

Not interesting for me as dutch speaking. So in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 2 points.

Above quoted from prev comments. The game is in English! Could that possibly be why it is "no good" in your opinion?

If you're having the 60 minute trial version, did you start the game from the install? Sometimes that shows the trial even though you did activate (before install, remember). Try to run it from the created shortcut! If you have activated, it should be the full version.

At first I wasn't sure about this game. After some coaxing by the wife I decided to install it on my WinXP desktop machine only. The setup and install went perfectly. I played for 10 minutes and decided that I really liked this game. I then installed it on my Windows Vista laptop without any problems. It plays perfectly on both machines. Actually on both machines I had to turn on "custom cursor" in the options menu because my mouse cursor would blink from here to there and disappear when it wasn't being moved.

If your having thoughts whether or not to download this, I would suggest to you DO IT. It really exercises your brain and makes you think. The graphix are outstanding and the play is smooth. The sound effects are cool, however, I turned off the music as usual so no comment on that. My 7 year old son stands next to me and finds words to spell. Now the words that he finds are only 3, 4, or sometimes 5 letters, but, he is spelling them and learning>

My wife is funny! She is coming up with all sorts of different "words" never heard of in human communication and she swears that they are real. Kinda like what you would do when playing Scrabble! Come on ya'll know what I'm talking about right? We've all done it! LOL!!!

Thanks AGAIN Merdian93 and GAOTD and have a great weekend everyone!

I liked this game. It took a minute to figure out that sometimes the letters don't swing back into the usable area since there is now "how to play" link until you click the link to exit the game. (Unless I missed it.)

Otherwise I thought it was challenging enough even on the early levels and I will definitely keep it and play again.
