By the time I arrived home, the giveaway was over, so don't see the point in spending time writing up a review, especially as I'm dog tired. Here are the images I uploaded:
and you can read all about the game over on Steam HERE
Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
To reduce the length of this comment I've moved all the content that's usually posted under this title to the forums. I will be updating it regularity, though, due to family bereavements over the last week, I've not done so yet. You can see the Useful information thread HERE
You can play The Elder Scrolls totally free until the 18th April. Follow the link above to the forums for more details and a link to the Bethesda web site.
As the game was cheaper than a Starbucks Coffee I decided to just buy todays game. The positive of that was that I noticed that for owners of this title, an early version of the game is available as DLC for free (not played yet) and that there is a DLC with minigames for this game that also costs $0.99/€0.99 so picked that up as well (not played yet)
For those that got the key, if you do not find it in your inbox check your spam folders. As a tip I recommend to always make a screenshot of the tasks performed. If for whatever reason the key does not arrive you can use that screenshot as proof you completed the tasks when contacting support. Once you have your key you can add it to Steam using the "Add a Game --> Activate a product on Steam" option found in your Steam client at the bottom left corner.
Kabitis is a nice little platformer in old skool style It can be played Single player and 2Player (not tried yet)
Story is vehicle for gameplay, family/things kidnapped/lost, we must save the day.
Controls can be done by keyboard mouse (arrow keys to walk and jump, space to open store, i get to that V and N are also used later in the game or with 2 player modes)) or with a controller (the D-pad, not the sticks and the X,B,A,Y buttons for other actions)
This platformer comes with a twist. You can add platforms when needed or destroy things that are in your way. I played a short level for purpose of this review but it seems to work well. Collect the "gems" to get credits for them. A platform will cost you 10 gems for example, gems are limited of course so use them wisely
Graphics and Music are fitting for this game, they have a nice retro view. During the first level there will be question marks with hints. Read everything you are asked to read as they explain the mechanics of this game and how to use powerups.
tbh, even for the limited time I played this atm I can see this being one of the better platformers for a budget price on Steam. If you like these type of games you will be spending a fair amount of time figuring out ways to reach all places, get all gems and complete levels as complete as possible.
I figure I give this a 7/10, simple but nice look and sound, decent replay value. Those that got the 5000 keys should have a lot of fun, those that missed out... it's just a buck and I don't feel like i threw it away
p.s I took a quick look at the "free" (if you have the game) "old version" but could not see any difference. Also looked at the minigame DLC which will give you 5 very simple minigames resembling breakout, space invaders and such. little timewasters, perhaps better as free DLC but who am I to judge how a dev wants to earn a buck
