An easy, logical, nerve-calming game.

Somewhere in the middle of the wide and mysterious African continent, little Banana Land is lost. There was no gold or diamonds in this country, but there was a real fairy forest. Every night the trees glowed with the brightest star in the sky - the Jungle Heart.

One night, summer came to an end, the sky darkened and the Jungle Heart became dim. Joy, a youngster from the Flying Elephants tribe, set out to discover the mystery of the lost star and attempt to restore it to its former beauty.

Jungle Heart has the beauty of a fairy-tale combined with light-hearted action gaming. Enter the world of a flying elephant on his adventures through the jungle, forests and even the skies to defeat his enemies.

I know this is a delayed posting but I just wanted to give feedback on this great kids game. My kids are really really enjoying the game and they're only 4! Thanks so much for this site! In the years to come, this site will be a most welcome site as they get older! Thanks again.

This game, well Ive played it before, except it was Platypus, and i think platypus is 5 times as good as Jungle Heart. Jungle Heart repeats itself over and over again you get tired of it too quickly.

I agree with #19 - my 6 year old daughter was utterly frustrated as she was unable to finish level 1, and thus lost interest.. Maybe a difficulty level selection would help?

Thank you for the games etc. Kids have been enjoying. But as a parent how about some Homework helpers, Flash cards, Spelling words hangman etc. Kids stuff with a educational twist.

I love the fact that you can control the elephant with the mouse as well as the keyboard. That makes it great for my 3 year old son and 6 year old daughter. I think that they will both love it. Thanks for the great games!

Personally, I don't like playing games with the only option for control being the keyboard. Even with a laptop I have a game controller which connects via the USB and will play those with that option or which are controlled via a mouse.

I certainly would never buy a game for a young child that couldn't be controlled with a game pad or the mouse.

You have to take into account the frustration level with small children. They are not noted for their patience. A game should be fun to play not a chore. Even a teaching game should be easy to control.

Am mom of 5, 2 grands, 2 great grands, and ran a daycare for 13 years. Am very familiar with children and their needs.

Would not buy this one, especially at this price.

Nice easy going game for young kids. Cheers GOTD :-)

I installed it on Windows XP and it worked fine.

I installed it on Windows 98SE (supported platform and well exceeded minimum hardware requirements) and I got a "Illegal Instruction" enountered window when the program was executed.

Thanks GAOTD team! I Think what your team is doing is a wonderful service. It's a shame most people think you owe them whatever they want. It's like Christmas everyday here for some of us. Some presents you like, some you don't. But you always should appreciate what is GIVEN to you. Please keep up the great work. There are many of us who love this site and want you to continue doing us this extremely nice favor! And the game is nice. (P.S. If possible it would be nice to see some educational games to help with learning.)
Just a thought. Once again many thanks to all your team and the hard efforts put forth into making this game and applications free!!!!

I think the keyboard controls are too hard for little kids.

Re: #15 WhiteRabbit: Saw the game zone separations on the opening screen but was thinking what if a kid can't get through all levels for each zone? I thought they'd have to go back to the first level of that zone. HOWEVER, poster #14 Micko is quite correct! Using "Continue" will in fact allow the player to continue from the last level successfully completed, even if the entire zone is not completed succesfully. That wasn't clearly explained in the game and we both missed it, so thank you Micko! I was concerned with frustration possibilities for little kids but that solves it.

Multiple player profiles would still be nice, and perhaps ability to edit controls like in the Snowy and Foxy Jumper games. I didn't notice any poor control response as noted by #8 DVD536, but suppose it could be a problem with younger children. Depending on their manual dexterity, it could be easy to get the elephant stuck on one of those points at the bottom of the rocks. The reason for extra concern is that games aimed at very young children need to be more fun than frustrating, even if it means they are too easy for older children. With that in mind WhiteRabbit, your 6 yr. old daughter will likely enjoy this game but I think your 8 yr. old son may be bored rather quickly, LOL.

Definitely one for my kids, however I found myself playing the game and enjoying it. They loved Zak and Jack in Showdown at monster town which is vaguely similar to this game, so when computer time comes this weekend they will probably love this. I may show it them this evening just to see what their reaction is.

I love the graphics, as Game Seeker mentions they are cartoon style graphics. The music is okay, but I may try placing some less bouncy music within the music files if it's possible. I'm sure the audio converters that we have been given will come in useful to get the right format.

Although games saving features aren’t supported with this game at the present time, it doesn't mean you have to start all the way from the beginning again once you've progressed so far. If you look at the opening screen you'll see that the levels are divided up into game zones. The first zone has 4 levels then all but the last game zone has 6 levels. Once you've completed 4 levels for the first and 6 for most of the rest you will be able to select certain levels at which to start, i.e. levels 1, 5, 11, 17, 23, 31. The way my children go through levels I'm sure this wont pose much of a problem. I thought 39 levels was a little light for a game costing nearly $20 so I googled the game and checked out quite a few of the responses and not one told me how many levels there actually are. I was hoping that there would be more. There is a family edition which gives you an extra 6 levels which they call trainers. My kids will finish this in one session probably; still it does look decent and plays easily.
Thank you Elephant Games and the GGAotD team for another game. :D

Great game for kids. Thanks ! Note that the continue option allows you to play on the last level reached even if you have you exited the program since. i.e it does save game progress.

I've downloaded quite a few items from this site and have loved 75% of them. I must say, however, that this one is definitely one that someone would get for their preschooler, etc. Won't keep my attention very long. But I am grateful for all the freebies! Thanks GOTD!

Thanks "Game Seeker" #7 for your informed and constructive review. I had been considering D/L the game, dispite what I consider heavy resource requirements for this type game. The lack of being able to save game progress and other options are definite negatives. No matter the "eye candy", flexable gameplay should be a minimum for any game. IMO - The keyboard only controls with no option was the "deal-breaker" for me. All software should discribe features and provide screenshots with each product.
It seems I can most always rely on the reviews of "Game Seeker" and "WhiteRabbit aka Stephen" to help with deciding which games to try.
I challange other posters to this forum to clearly explain what they base their perferences on. This would benefit everyone. If all you have to say is "this rocks","this sucks" Etc. wastes my time. Just use the "thumbs-up" or "thumbs-down" please.
Anyone with questions, help requests could be responded to quicker with the brief time saved. I know I have been helped by the suggestions and explainations in this forum. (Which I belive is it's intent.)
Off my "Soapbox" for now ... 8-) Thanks ! 8-)
Thumbs down this game.

#5 Hi Rick... no probs mate. You might be missing my point, [which doesn't in any way knock the game or the fantastic service that GOTD provides].

You've got to be joking. the controls suck. if you're barely touching anything you get stuck. something aimed towards younger children should be more forgiving as far as this goes.

Side scrolling game for little kids. Cute 2D cartoon graphics, the elephant flies or walks (arrow keys) and can also roll up into a ball (right CTRL key) to move through the levels. He shoots water (space bar) at enemies, when ten coconuts are collected he transforms into a mammoth and then shoots ice. Butterfly powerups to replenish flying ability, leaves filled with water to replenish water supply.

There's a help file to explain controls and game play, but options only for sound and music volume. There's no ability to save games, if a kid loses a level they have to start all the way back at the beginning. It could be improved by supporting saved level progress and multiple player profiles. This game is geared toward younger kids so it's easy, but having to start all over again if they make one mistake may frustrate them.

To #1 (Noddy) Oh c'mon mate, wake up! What the heck is the point of comments like these? The program had only been announced 10 mins before you posted on others' perceived lack of opinions.

Most folks are taking time to become familiar with the product.

Please peoples, use a little common sense and don't clog up this facilty with inane skubala, but do leave it for folks who have genuine opinions on what is being offered.

Thank you

Ought to be a fun game for the younger set! Brightly-colored screens set the stage for a friendly mammoth that is pitted against evil cockatoos (aren't they all? :D), crocodiles and vultures. There are powerups along the way, enabling the brave little mammoth to become a battle mammoth and defeat the jungle's enemy, Bolo Cracker (ha..love it).

I think I'll keep this one for the youngest grandchildren. Thanks, Giveaway team, and thanks to White Elephant software for allowing me to try this game.
