I usually really enjoy time management games, so I downloaded this and today I finished it. It was fun to play through once, but I think too easy and not compelling enough to re-play. I only had to repeat one level that I did not get an expert score on the first time.

The models' faces are, to me, kind of creepy looking, but most of the rest of the art is pretty and I liked the clothing designs (even if you don't get much time to look at them while playing). I will say one design choice that really bothered me was the way Juliette's chest seems to expand and contract, moving independently of her body. :-( I'm not sure if it was supposed to indicate her being out of breath or what, but I found it unnecessary and distracting, so if you're someone who notices/critiques portrayals of women's bodies in media it may bother you too.

The dialogue between Juliette and her rivals revolves mostly around "be strong and follow your dreams". It's stilted and kind of unbelievable, but happens rarely enough that it's easy to overlook or skip past. Overall I think it was worth playing through once for me.

I finished the game today. Here are the things that I like and don't like:

Likes
1. The upgrades carry over throughout the game.
2. The graphics and outfits are very nice.
3. Lots of upgrade options.

Dislikes:
1. I hate the pop up mini games in the middle of a drop and drag game. I made so many extra clicks.
2. Because I always get expert on each level before moving on, I had no upgrades from the second day in Paris on.
3. I would have preferred that the staff members work every station, so once I get expert on each level, I could just do the drop and drag actions rather than the mini games, which I hate in all TM games.

Well I like TM games but this one seems a bit different. Have only played 3 levels and have not beaten Adrian yet. Still learning I suppose! Other commentators seem to be having more success, however I'm looking forward to mastering this one eventually. After all therein lies the challenge! Thanks for this.

Yes my kind of game at last, I think this might get a lot of down votes judging by the kind of games people like here but I love it & downloaded it immediately. I've played it before though so I know what to expect & how it works. Time Management games are the best(especially the girly ones). There's always something for everyone here thanks GOTD.

Im not really interested in running a fashion empire, also I dont enjoy time management games. So I wont be downloading it, BUT because I didn't try it, I didnt hit the like or hate button. I cant figure out how it goes up at midnight and 3 minutes later there are hates logged. These people are NOT trying the game and just hit hate because the may not like time management.

I think, the system should be changed, you MUST leave feedback before you can hit like or hate, to eliminate some of the people from hitting the buttons with out trying he game.

I see that this gets a 4-star rating at Big Fish, but it's not for me. Although I like Time Management games, this one is too 'girly' and also too easy for me.

This is actually a fairly easy one as these go. You quickly learn what you need to do and it's minimal frustration. Like most Alawar puts out, it's a high quality, good one. I've had this one before and liked it.

The pros are that the graphics are decent. The play is fairly easy. The ambient music isn't bad (at least it doesn't drive me nuts like some of them do!). It's not as frustrating as some of them. Play flows easily. You get some good 'power ups' in the form of things you buy that help a great deal and make it easier on you to work with.

The cons are it might be a tad TOO easy for those of us that play these. I just finished the third level and am topping the expert score by over a 1000 points each time. The choosing the outfits and that is a bit mergh. Not pleased with that and don't like it for some reason. The re-playability of it isn't good. See my comment about a tad too easy for that bit. The add-ons you get, like the lights, phone, radio, etc. is a bit hard to keep track of and what you've used.

This one gets a thumbs up from me despite the cons to it. I think, to improve it, you should get rid of the choosing outfits, jewelry and such and add something else that is more along the 'Time Management' area to help improve it in the moving around type thing.

Today’s game giveaway is Juliette’s Fashion Empire a Time Mangement game

The giveaway downloads to a 51.6 MB zip file that unpacks to a read me and dual activation and set up module. To new game giveaway visitors that means just install the game and it should automatically register because the activation module is wrapped in with the set up file and the gdc file that contains the security software. This was added two years ago to stop hackers from breaking into the wrapped set up file and uploading to peer to peer sites. Many game giveaways appeared on these sites within minutes hours of the game going live as well as You Tube videos telling you how to do it .(It was very easy to do). The gcd file has helped to cut down on hacked games. Hacking these giveaways so as to be able to install the game at any time is against the agreement you agree to when installing the game. (see the terms and Conditions in the read me file that comes with all giveaways).

The installed game is 45.6 Mb in size.
The game works on Win 7 and Win 8 platforms. I no longer use Vista or XP so can't confirm whether it works on those operating systems.

There is no shortcut installed to the desktop or the Stat menu programs list, so, make a note of the above install path, or where you choose to install the game so that you can create a shortcut yourself.

The Game:

Juliette’s Fashion Empire features 50 levels and offers an average playing time for the genre. There is only one mode and any sort of achievements or trophies are missing, but this does not take away too much from the game. You will visit five fashion cities altogether: New York, Milan, Tokyo, Paris and London, each of them offering ten levels. It’s your task to beat another long-established fashion designer at each city sales-wise.

In contrast to titles like Fab Fashion, you don’t have to choose between any different clothing lines or anything of that sort. Rather, you have to prepare each model at a variety of stations and in the end send them to the runway. Those stations include fitting rooms, accessory and make-up stations as well as resting chairs.

Most stations in Juliette’s Fashion Empire involve very easy and quite familiar mini-games. At the fitting room you have to pick a model’s favorite dress (indicated by rather weird smiles which are borderline crazy), you need to choose the correct accessories, or apply make-up in a specific order (for example, lip-stick is for lips, not hair). Apart from the mini-games that increase every model’s happiness (and thereby your profit), you have to drag models from station to station, make drinks and sandwiches, and send them to the runway.

Depending on how much money you earn you will receive tokens at the end of each level. Juliette’s Fashion Empire features your standard upgrade systems, which includes speeding up Juliette, hiring assistants (who unfortunately do not move between stations of the same type), various items that will increase all or some model’s patience while activated or quicker machines. The actual money you earn only serves as a comparison between Juliette and her current competitor. In the end it’s her aim in each city to open two additional fashion stores and also earn more money than the other competitor.

The game also features chaining bonuses for working at the same stations in a row, but this mechanic is not as important and complex as it is common in other titles. The major part of money you earn by keeping the models as happy as possible and by sending a lot of them to the runway with full hearts. While Juliette’s Fashion Empire introduces models with different characters, some of them are more patient than others, it does not seriously affect gameplay. It will rarely happen that any model will leave your shop and each personality type pays exactly the same amount of money.

Juliette’s Fasion Empire truly shines in one important aspect – the pace is extremely well-balanced, most of the levels are challenging, yet not frustrating, and the upgrade system is pretty motivating despite its all too familiar ingredients. The graphics are really polished, too, and create a nice atmosphere along with amusing animations and a fitting soundtrack.

But the game definitely misses out on implementing more of the promising storyline into the actual gameplay. Sabotages by competitors, some quests regarding the models and a more realistic approach to the theme of fashion would have improved the game greatly. Moreover it is a pity that the storyline itself with all its potential is way too predictable, each city is actually a carbon copy of the one before.

Where x is the name of the various music files (10 tracks in all). you will need to rename the files you are using with the ones you are replacing (e.g. Dialog.ogg, London.ogg, Menu.ogg etc)

Juliette’s Fashion Empire is a blast for fans of good old-fashioned time management games in the vein of Sally’s Spa or Pageant Princess. While Juliette’s Fashion Empire doesn’t push the envelope in terms of new features or challenge, it will definitely satisfy time management game fans who have been waiting for something new to sink their teeth into.

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of 'potential' cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you've checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.
