Journey to the Center of the Earth is a 2D platformer about exploring giant caves and dying of thirst. Based on the Jules Verne novel, players control three adventurers with unique powers and have to make their way through 18 expansive levels, solve puzzles, avoid traps and find the well hidden secret at the center of the Earth.

Hi, I completed all three tasks shortly after the game went live and still haven't received a key. The same thing happened for the last steam key, where i completed all tasks yet never received a key. You can see the completed tasks via the link below.

Hi Ivan, the giveaway for that game was over weeks ago. If you can prove you completed all of the tasks, I suggest you first contact the giveaway team. If that fails to elicit a response, contact the developer of the game and explain that you completed all tasks. Evidence to back it up and hopefully you may get a key, but i cannot guarantee that. I am only a volunteer moderatior and don't have anything to do with distribution of keys etc.

I don't like Platformers (partly because my Manual Dexterity makes me suck really bad at them), even when based on something I like, so I will pass. I'm not giving it a Thumb's Up because I don't know the game enough, and I'm not giving it a Thumb's Down just because it's not for me. I am very pleased to see variety in the type of game offered and the theme.

Keeps saying "user account with such data already exists. you have switched to another user." My facebook email is not the same as twitter nor steam. Is that a problem?

I mostly agree with the general sentiment here. What I did several years ago was to create two facebook accounts and two twitter accounts. I actually use, sort of, one of the facebook accounts and the other is just for signing up for stuff. Ditto the twitter, except that with today's social crowd, I tend to not use my real twitter account very much. Haven't posted in several years and read only sporatically. So I did it and got the game but haven't played it yet.

As to those of you complaining about Steam, it's sort of like someone with a Windows machine complaining about distribution of games for Macintosh. If you dislike Steam then the games available on steam are games that are not available to you.

Dick Sidbury, i use my main facebook account but set post to be seen by myself only. on twitter i just let it post it because i hardly use twitter anyways and i have very few real world friends on my twitter account. i only use twitter for reading posts from sports writers and game devs. i get no spam to my email from this site. steam is very safe and reliable. i can't wait to try this game out.

Dick, that's perfectly fine for Twitter but maintaining two accounts is against Facebook's terms so that's really not a good solution to recommend to others. The bottom line is that this type of marketing needs to be discouraged.

I joined the Steam Group (the only option presented to me) as requested. I think this is acceptable for a Steam game. But sadly I didn't get a key.

BTW, I don't have facebook and twitter, so I would really appreceate it if you could remove these actions from the giveaway process. Is it really necessery to share everything on these platforms?

We understand your frustration, we do our best to convince the devs that it's much better to add these actions as an option (a way to say thank you after getting the game) instead of the forced advertising. Unfortunately we do not succeed all the times and at this point we feel that it's better to secure the deal with forced advertising and give the game to those who do not mind using social networks.

Dear GOTD Team,
Thank so much for all the giveaways. Would you please consider, using something else but this problematic gleam.io widget? In the past, the twitter did not work, now the steam does not work. I joined the group on steam but I get the popup message: "The page at https://www.giveawayoftheday.com says: ERROR: You didn't join to Seam Group"
Twitter and Facebook worked; Steam did not.
I use only the noscript addon on firefox and this never was a problem until now, and now I put it on "Allow scrips globally" and still nothing.

Please advise.

Thank you so much for your reply. I tried again, after cleaning all the junk from the firefox and the computer, flushing the dns etc. used a new and fresh version of portable version of firefox, and in the end ... it worked :)

So, maybe it was from my end ... this time, and finaly the widget is working just fine :)

So, Steam is working just fine, if anybody has also such problems, to know this!

You don't need to press the download button after you complete all the three actions, the key will be automatically sent to the email address that you use to log into the widget.
