Intelligence: Underwater Kingdom
In Brief
A Casual Sliding Tile puzzle game
Intelligence: Underwater Kingdom was created by the same developer (Laush Dmitriy Sergeevich) of the three games we've been given over the past several days, i.e. Animals Memory: Dogs, Intelligence: Anime Girls and the wrongly labelled Animals Memory: Dinosaurs, that turned out to be another game called Intelligence: Dinosaurs. As today's game is basically the same as the Dinosaur and Anime games apart from the images, I'm not going to post a review of today's game; if you want more information about Intelligence: Underwater Kingdom just check out my mini review of Intelligence: Dinosaurs HERE and the giveaway teams description of Intelligence: Anime Girls HERE. You can see videos of game play HERE (via the Steam store page) and HERE. We get a free standing version of the game not a Steam key, so no Steam achievements.
Today's game is basically the same game as Intelligence: Dinosaurs and Anime Girls apart from the images are now underwater animals instead of dinosaurs and anime girls. As I mentioned in the review's of the previous giveaways. I believe they should have been combined into a single game rather than splitting them up piecemeal. As a whole they are okay and the sliding tile puzzles can be quite challenging with respect to memory. If you like these sorts of sliding tile jigsaw puzzles then today's offering is worth downloading.
I struggled to complete some of the later levels with the Intelligence: Dinosaurs puzzles and the same will probably happen with this game as well, especially the 4x4 grids. The developer has released several of these over on Steam as a bundle HERE (6 games plus sound tracks). Granted, they are cheap £0.79 to £1.69 games, but it would have made a decent puzzle compendium if they were included in one package (IMO). I'd have been happy to pay the going rate for a decent and substantially larger (w.r.t. content) casual arcade game (usually retailing at between £5 to £8). The only review from the Steam community gives it a thumbs down and says :
Because the game randomly places pieces rather than mixing up a solved board, 50% of all generated puzzles are impossible to solve.

Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
Don't forget to check out the the latest Epic Games giveaway that this week is 'For the King' (a challenging blend of strategy, turn based combat and rogue-like elements). Next Thursday 1st May to this will change to 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' and 'Crashlands'. Also check out Reddit's Free Games on Steam (these fluctuate over the week, so it's worth checking daily at this time as there have been quite a few developers offering their commercial games for free since the lock-down - if you see a game, just open your Steam client and search for the game in the store, if it's still available free you'll see that they are 100% off, the site is updated frequently, so if a game is no longer available it's usually tagged with an 'Over' icon. Hurry though because these free games don't stay free long. Once added to your account they become permanently attached). You can also get loads of free DRM free games from Indie Gala and HERE. They have recently added a few more games that look worthwhile, including an excellent marble popper on the lines of Luxor, but with a fantasy setting. (Delenns posted a link in the forums, see my links below to go there) There's actually two marble poppers, the other one being Corona Match a 3D version of marble popping that is quite challenging.
Finally check Delenns threads for other freebies both Steam and Non Steam titles HERE and HERE

As someone who enjoys puzzles, these games are a refreshing change of pace to play. More challenging than they may at first appear while still being relaxing at the same time, if that makes sense. Reminds me of the little pocket-sized plastic slide puzzles of yesteryear.

I've enjoyed the Dinosaur version so downloaded this one as well. If I had one negative, it's the choice of music/soundtrack. It can get a bit grating but it's easy enough to lower the volume or mute with the button in the upper right. Not much else to say other than the download and installation was a problem-free on Win10HomeX64.

Thank you to the publisher, GOTD team and Whiterabbit-uk.
I hope all of you and yours are healthy and continue to remain so. Stay safe everyone!
