Anybody having problems with their mouse not working on this game? Last few games I have downloaded successfully, my mouse will not work on the game on my laptop, so I can not play the game. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

.....................Moderator comment...............................

when you say it doesn't work, do you mean you can't see it, or is the mouse frozen? Firstly make sure (if you can) that the custom cursor is unchecked (via the options menu). Update your video drivers. If you have a specialist mouse for example a razer/logitech/Microsoft/cyborg mouse download the latest drivers for them. also check the FAQ's section in the game discussion forums (I've posted a link at the bottom of my review at comment #3.

Try going into compatibility mode and disabling visual themes and/or display scaling. finally try changing your screen resolution.

I guess it shows how I lost interest in Wheemplay games that I forgot to install this offering until it was too late.

I'm finally going to criticize a Wheemplay game. I think Wheemplay has gotten a bad rap. Their games are supposed to be stripped down, time waster for portables, many ultimately disposable. Fine. I've played solitaire to unwind. But this one sets the bar too low.

You can play this one online at either of two Wheemplay portals - beplayed.com or godvilgames.com - and I strongly recommend that no one download this game until you have played it online first. Developers usually pay more attention to the number of downloads than any votes or comments. Here's why I say don't download this one first:

The last 2 Wheemplay's are not so much physics games - by that I mean geometric puzzle manipulating games - as much as they are maze games. In other words, find the right path through the obstacles. The physics involved - especially in Indi Cannon - requires little more than common sense. Last weeks Oh, My Candy game was at least interesting as a type of "Rube Goldberg" game - named after the famous cartoonist who drew incredibly complicated joke machines to do incredibly simple tasks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rube_Goldberg

But Indi Canon is practically almost all obstacle maze. These types of games can work if the world your navigating is even remotely interesting. But I'll tell you right now Wheemplay that very few people are going to find this simple nonsense interesting. This is like a movie so lightweight or dull that you can't remember most of it the moment you walk out of the theater. This developer was - obviously - just copying other games in a completely uncreative way and just going through the motions. I admit that I didn't get all the way through - I used the walkthrough on 9 (which I solved in a slightly different way, anyway), 13, and 16. But when I got to 16, I quit. The walkthrough had you firing an Indi onto a loose board to slide it out of the way. I couldn't get the hang of this, so I quit. Not because I frustrated, but because I was bored. Because I said to myself, "Why bother. I can't possibly care about solving this." And all most all of the people who come her won't either. None of the 13 levels I solved without help was any more that mildly challenging, and there's nothing in this world of Indy in the Jungle that's anything more than a standard, low grade cartoon.

Wheemplay, you've gotten a lot of unfairly bad reaction here, and it's pretty much been a misunderstanding. But, considering that many of the people that come to this site have already turned against you, I strongly advise you not to post any more games that are obvious cheep copies like this. Games that have almost zero imagination. I can't knock this game, but can only give it a 5. It's adequate.

But adequate is not good enough. Even for a portable device, even for free. There's too much out there that people can find to do to waste time on their portable devices for free that there's no need to waste money on this. No need to even waste the time to download a free copy of this, or even the time to come to GGOTD to find a game like this.

Wheemplay, please understand that quantity is not quality and people don't want to pay for quantity. They want to pay for quality. This game will have zero value for most people, even for free.

Actually thought this was a good game
from wheemplay! Probably the best of
the 26 games I received from them! Odd
how some can like a game and others think
it stinks! Thanks gotd and wheemplay!

OK, interesting time waster, I played the whole game through in about 30 minutes.
#2 Amanda, there is a power meter, but it is a little unconventional. It depends on how far from the cannon you have the cursor. The closer to the cannon, the shorter your arrow is and that is your power adjustment/meter.

Problem sorted 12 hours into the giveaway. When I had to replace my SSD with a new one three months ago I'd set the bios to read my DVD/blue Ray reader first then the HDD/SSD's. Once the OS was installed I'd neglected to reset the bios so that the SSD would be read first. This isn't usually a problem. It may increase boot up time a little, but so long as there's no DVD's or Blue Ray in the tray the computer will boot up as normal.

I was about to try and repair using my Win 7 disc when I discovered a music disc in the tray which i'd put there yesterday. I immediately realized what the problem was so rebooted and it started up first time. :)

I'd not finished the review. As it's so late in the day I'm not going to bother. Instead I'll concentrate on tomorrows review. :)

I'll be moderating as normal from now.
:)

Wheem, gotta agree that this is getting way old. Ok Win 7 x64 and can be nearly 3/4 full screen or windowed. Too weird to bother with the game physics after a few levels. Like when supposed to bound on wooden vertical board to get to shoot some pieces on right. In wallthru looks easy, but couldn't get it to swing away. Level 5 maybe. Plant kept eating Indy. Cannon just doesn't track. Map Level editor I think, didn't try it. Single execute file. Thanks anyway. Usually Sunday game more decent than this kiddie fare.

I've got to hand it to WheemPlay, they come up with some crazy spoofs for game names. Or other silly ideas. But leave room to have more levels in their titles they release. However $1.99 is appropriate for the amount of fun you get and really is meant to compete in the "APP" world rather then in the casual type game department like you see with Playrix or Alawar.

disappointed. I am running win7 64 bit and have not had this much trouble with any other install. I am in a loop of extraction and replacement options. finally got a screen that says it installed and was activated but I cannot find it even in a search. the only place I can find in a search is in the original folder which only has the install file. usually I just double click and everything goes automatically. this is a nightmare and I have no idea why. thanks anyway; I appreciate the good games I do get.

White Rabbit, if you are using Win7 than do an upgrade not a reinstall, details canm be found by Googling

Thanks Lennard, thankfully it didn't come to that. All I need to do now is change the boot priority to HDD then DVD not the other way around. That should also increase boot up time somewhat. :)

Fancy gameplay, nice audio-video. I try online version, its too easy to beat this 30 levels.
Not big deal, but is playable and neat.

Downloaded and installed without problems to Win7 64bit Home Edition. Gave this one thumbs down which I rarely do. Expected the usual Wheemplay type game that is fun for wasting time with. This one involves shooting a guy from the cannon and on one of the beginning levels out comes an ax which splats 'blood' when the guy hits it. Of course the object of the game is for the guy being shot from the cannon NOT to be hit by the ax. For me this mimics violence and as such not fun. I would not recommend letting a child play this game until after an adult has played it through.

I'm having more problems with my main computer. It's the only computer at the moment that will allow me access to my admin account. For some reason every time I boot up the computer appears to start up in Windows then goes to a black screen. I've been trying to get it to work all morning with no luck.

I think I'm going to have to reinstall Windows, which will take me some time as I'll also have to reload all the drivers etc. I'm not in the mood at the moment after spending all morning trying to fix it.

Hopefully I'l be up and running by tomorrow. We have a better game for Sunday. ;-)

Great diversion, not nearly as easy as it seems at first glance.Try it-you might be surprised. Thanks wheemplay and ggotd for a good time killer.Could use an import music button in options and a desktop shortcut but at the price I guess you shouldn't be greedy.:-)

The game downloaded and installed on my compute just fine, but that is about the only good thing I found with this particular game. The game itself seemed to be very childish and outdated. I found the graphics to be very simplistic, rather dull, and again - outdated. The object of the game is extremely simple, but it is setup in a manner that seems to take forever to be successful from one level to another. I believe that young children would probably be ineterested in this game, but I would suggest that the children not be old enough to have had a great deal of experience on many of the more updated games, or they may possibly become bored very quickly. I have used a lot of Wheemplay software in the classroom for various students, and have always thought their software was very good for students who struggle when it comes to learning in more "traditional" ways. I have found very little of their software that was either challenging to me, or able to keep my interest for long. So, if you are a teacher, or a parent looking for software your child can use at home that is "fun" and educational at the same time, I think most Wheemplay software, including this program, is a good choice. However, if you are looking for a program that is challenging, and has a few more "bells and whistles," then I do not believe this program will be very entertaining for you, or much of a challenge. I appreciate GGOTD for giving me the opportunity to preview the software, as well as giving me another program I can use with some of my younger students who have difficulties with hand/eye coordination. To be honest, I'm tired of the Wheemplay games. That's definitely not to say anything against the developer, I'm sure many people enjoy their games, I'm just not one of them.

Downloaded/installed fine on Vista 64-bit.

First impression:

Nice simple graphics, look good, and the Indis are cute. SFX are good. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if there was any music, so it must have been pretty unremarkable.

Big problem for me is that the cannon doesn't shoot along the trajectory of the arrow. Also, the physics aren't as good as what I've come to expect from Wheemplay, which are usually pretty well done. I stopped playing after about 10 levels for those reasons.

Simple game, but needs more accurate aiming to be worth the play, and a power meter would be nice too.

Review to follow later today.

A typical flash based game from Wheemplay with a limited number of levels. We've had several of this 'cannon' type game over the last two years. I'll write a full review later this morning. (need some more sleep) ;-)
