Hi, while I can understand some would see match 3 games as boring, it wouls be good if others thought about others :) My husband has had a stroke and his doctor suggested he play this type of game to get his hand/eye/brain together. Its so positive for him, I cannot find ways to thank Game Giveaway!! I have finished it and am on my third run through the game. The prize: when u click to accpet it, the game drops and u see your desktop - nothing more :) I suspect they are saying your computer is the prize hehehe. Again thanks game giveaway and frankly Id really appreciate the moderator letting me know where else I can find free downloads of match 3 games. We are pensioners in New Zealand so struggle financially - BIG UPS!!

I installed the game. Initially it said that I needed the Driect X SDK in order for Inca Ball to work. I installed it. Yet, I still keep getting the same message. Anyone have any ideas why or what I need to do to be able to play the game?
Thanks.

Hi Jaime, try updating your graphics drivers as well. You'll need to find which chip manufacturer you have (graphics chip). You can do this by opening up the dxdiagnostics panel. Just type dxdiag in the run command field (found in the start menu) and then click on the display tab. You should find which driver you need there. Then use Google to find the manufacturer. It's probably going to be either a NVIDIA or ATI driver. Once you get to the home page of the developer it's easy enough to follow the links to the driver download.
If that doesn't work try deleting the DXDiag version that you have installed then reinstalling it. You may need to reinstall the game as well. Download the demo and install to a different location to the one you installed last week just in case the registration information is kept within the installed game. Under no circumstances use the uninstaller provider as that will delete the registration details as well.
Failing all of the above try installing the version from MyPlayCity which is free 24/7. Read my comment beofre you download though. :)

I gave up on Level 24. Completely impossible if you've used up your original lives, have no more tricks up your sleeve (powerups, etc) and solvable purely on luck alone. After trying to beat the level (a double train, and one designed to be as tough as possible) more than 30 times, I simply gave up and deleted the game. I really enjoyed it up to that point, but what's the use of throwing in a ringer of a level at an early stage (in a 60-level game)? Thanks, but that's the last time I play a Playrix game. After 30 tries, and and coming close only once - and that one purely by luck with the random order of the balls) it wasn't going to happen. Too bad. A good game ruined by overly zealous game designers. When a level is that hard, it stops being pleasurable, and starts being deleted.

That's your loss Capp. Inca Ball was designed to be replayable. You never play the levels that same each time you play them. also if level 30 is so hard you need to restart and make sure you've kept back as many of the purchasable power ups as possible.
If you do change your mind don't forget that you can download the game from MyPlayCity (Inca Ball) or Gametop (Azteca) 24/7. :)

This game is a lot of fun. It is a fine successor to Zuma.

If you like Inca ball you'll love Luxor 3 and it's sequel. Simila game play, with upgrades that you earn, plus loads of power ups plus mini games and alternate paths to follow.

Sounds like your cookie folder needs deleting. cookies can become corrupted and will then cause problems when trying to load a web page. It's not the fault of the giveawayoftheday but of your own computer. :)

I downloaded a trial of this game the other week. It is a match 3 kind of similar to Zuma or Luxor. A very good game. Thanks Playrix and Giveawayoftheday.

Timing the shooting of balls doesn't appeal as much to me as match3 swapping, but that's me. Have played the online demo and, if this has any appeal to you at all, I'd download it. Thumbs up!

Like others, I had it and lost it to a reformat. I really enjoy the Zuma-type games - specifically because they _don't_ require thinking, it's pretty much pure hand-eye coordination. Perfect when I'm tired but can't sleep, or sick, or whatever. I play this and Luxor (3, mostly) a lot, and was very sorry when I lost it. So I'm delighted to see it again! I'll look up Obulis, though, and the others the moderator mentioned.
#13 - the menu button comes live only during a level, so you have to start the next level and quit from there.
#18 - Yes, I've won several times - the prize is a screensaver. Whoopie. Definitely better the journey than the destination, in this case. Nothing wrong with it, but it's just a pretty picture (of heaped-up Aztec treasure).

Thank you GOTD, what a refreshing change from those hidden object games! Good game with nice graphics and music. Though it wasn't hard to get through all the levels I'll be playing it again and again just because it's fun. Installed and played without a hitch in my W7 64 bit.

@17 - What you have to remember, though, is that not everyone is as into games as you appear to be, and for people new to games (i.e. mainly adults) they may be unfamiliar with this type of game and actually enjoy the offering. Not to mention it's a good game to have on the computer when babysitting younger family members (as I can attest to). And if you don't have great eye-hand coordination, this type of game always remains a challenge - lol.

Hi downtheshore,
A great indie game for young children is called Air Forte. It's a Maths/english/Geography game but played as a flying game. Ideal for 7 to 11 year olds.

Ok Win 7 Ultimate 32x. Adjustments for sound/music retain settings.
Has some nice additional play elements as mentioned esp the buy of
extras. Helps when a rush of balls comes ramping down and just miss the 'win'. Other variations of this style would tick me off at that point. Here I just lose the life & win next set of balls, get points, buy life and game on. Exit for me was to just close game & restart since my keys are bound to other ops. Rerun later & game asks if you want to continue from where left off. Fine overall performance from this brand - keep eye out for Playrix. They do it right. Nice looking too.
Thanks guys.

I think if I ever see another match3 or Zuma type game, I'll need to either kick a puppy over a fence, 'relax' a kitten by holding it underwater for ten minutes, or else pluck my own eyeballs out with blunt forks.
I mean, both these concepts have been done beyond death, even beyond zombie-hood in my opinion. Boring, boring, BORING. That nearly STARTS to describe my feelings about these types of games.
Wonderful games like Obulis have proved that you CAN still make ORIGINAL games, so why do people even bother making 'me-too' match-3 and Zuma games? There are already more than hundreds of them, so I see no point whatever in adding even MORE variants of what were unbelievably dull and boring concepts to start with.
.............................Moderator Comment............................
got to agree with you there Cad, though I do like the later Luxor games. As for Obulis; a brilliant, beautiful and skillful game. I've been stuck on a particular level for quite some time. There's a growing Indie movement that has created some brilliant games over the past few years.
e.g.
A Reckless disregard for Gravity, And Yet it Moves, Audiosurf, Bad Rats, Beat Hazard, Braid, Chaos Theory, Blueberry Garden, Bob came in Pieces, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Crazy Machines, Dimensity, Droplitz, Eufloria, Darwinia, Eternity's Child, Fortix, Galcon fusion, Geometry wars, Gravitron 2, Gumboy Crazy Adventures, Guns of Icarus, Hammerfight, I-Fluid, Larva mortus, Lucidity, Machinarium, Madballs in Babo: Invasion, Mightier (free), Monster Mash, Multiwinia, Power od Defence, Puzzle Quest 1 & 2 (a great match three with an RPG element to it), Quantz, Samorost, 2, Shatter, Smashing Toys, Space Giraffe, Star Trek D-A-C, Torchlight, Sol survivor, The Polynomial, Tidalis, Toki Tori, Trine, Turba, Saira, Spectraball, Plnts v Zombies, Osmos, Ziro and Zombie Driver to name just a few that I can find in my Indie folder. :) all great games with a difference from your usual match three, time management games and HOG's

I also downloaded this one last time it was offered, but have since upgraded to another computer and lost it.
I'm glad to see it again. It's challenging and interesting. I was never able to complete the game due to increasing levels of difficulty, innacuracy of my shooting when rushing to finish a level, and the randomness of ball color selection. It should keep the people who enjoy this busy for quite a long time!

In my experience the first marble-popper that actually works under W7 (32b), where Luxor and Atlantis had failed. If I remember correctly it is from the same people that also released Theseus and the Minotaur (given away here some years ago, which it would be rerun). Nice game, though with a tendecy to overdo graphics that are not really part of the game. Too much eye-candy to my taste. Music and Sound can be be tuned down, but you have to do it every time you play, which is slightly annoying. All in all, a nice game.
Save | Cancel
If you have never heard of this game, then maybe you have heard of zuma? It is very similar, except that instead of a stationary frog who just turns in circles. you get a little shooter that moves left to right all across the bottom of the screen. What I really like about this, is that you get to buy your extra lives with points earned on each level. You also get to buy powerup in addition to earning different powerups in game. I played it to level 17 as soon as I downloaded it. I had no problems on at all in Windows 7, 64 bit. I exited the game, restarted and played to level 19, and again no problems. I downloaded it at 2:02 my time and it is now 3:55. It is definitely a lot of fun.

Inca Ball is an excellent arcade game from the Puzz Loop / Zuma / Luxor genre. I'd definitely encourage hardcore gamers to give it a try as this is not your typical casual fare. It was developed / designed by Sahmon Games so I'd also suggest a stop by http://www.sahmon.com to show some appreciation.

Introduction
Reference http://www.playrix.com/games/pc/inca-ball.html accessed 30th Oct 2010
Features:
• Explore 60 thrilling levels
• Access 15 exciting power-ups
• Earn money and buy explosive artifacts in the shop
• Save and restore games from any point
• Win a prize at the end of the game
The Game:
The main menu contains a help file that gives you an animated run through of the various aspects of the game. This help page also appears when you first start the game. You start with 60 000 credits which you can use to purchase several of the power ups that are available. At the start of the game there are only three of these out of a total of nine available. The bomb ball costs 10 000, the chain bomb costs 20 000 and an extra life costs 40 000Other purchasable power ups include Rain (15 000), lightning (20 000), Trident (25 000), Fireball (30 000), Firewave (30 000) and Inca Ball (40 000). These are unlocked as you progress through the levels. I think the first one is unlocked after level 4 or 5. Any power ups that you purchase are accessible from the bottom of the playing arena. You just click on the one you want to use before you shoot your next marble.
There are 60 levels available in game, each level having a different layout. The aim of the game is to destroy all the rows of marbles that are slowly moving towards a tunnel. You get successive waves of these marble ‘trains’. If you are slow to destroy any row you’ll find the next row catching up. There are several power ups that appear when you destroy marbles such as a reverse flow power up or a targeting marble. Other power ups include the stop power up, the slow down power up and the colour bomb power up.
If any marbles enter the end tunnel you lose one of your three lives. However buying a new life is relatively cheap when you see how many credits you can earn from each level. So it should be fairly easy, even for a novice at this game to complete the whole 60 levels.
Images:
Conclusion:
Ina Ball is a decent ball popper on the lines of Zuma, with loads of power ups to keep the game interesting. What I like about this game compared to the likes of Zuma and others of this ilk (Luxor and a few others excepted because they have some excellent power ups that are upgradeable) is the ability to purchase nine different power ups that can help you out of sticky situations for example If the row of marble is about to enter the final tunnel you can use one of your purchased power ups such as the chain bomb or bomb ball to destroy those marbles by clicking on the one you want (from the bottom of the arena). There are also more power ups that appear after destroying particular combinations of marbles. Great stuff. The game gets a little harder as you progress.
I’d give this a good 7.5 out of 10 for replayability and family fun.
Additional Information:
You can get Inca Ball from both MyPlayCity and Gametop, though it’s called Azteca at Gametop:
