I read the comment about your not believing anyone cares "(as hardly anyone appears to bother with them"), and wanted to say I disagree. I myself have checked them out and find things we want. some like me probably visit after the fact when we realize we need some thing . Also some may just copie the link address and paste. Cute game. I think my nieces & nephews will like it. Those 10 and under, anyway. I like the idea of using historical geniuses as characters who need help from the player. What an ego booster. I'm going to continue through to the end and see if the difficulty really increases. If it's too easy, then the child will complete it in a few weeks, and then be bored. That would keep me from wanting to spend 20 bucks on a game. We'll see...

Grrr... This game's data file is infuriating. It is encrypted with a lot of different XOR keys. Each different field has a different key, and my debugger displaying each key in big endian does not help. I guess I'll work on decrypting this thing some other time.

As for the game itself, I'm surprised how fast it loaded, despite a ridiculously large data file. Gameplay was average. I first couldn't figure out how the rotation really worked. The graphics are pretty clean, though the music might have been a little bland. The developer's English seems well enough, only writing "than" instead of "then". The story had too much reading though, IMO.

Installed and activated under W7/64 bit, with warning that install might not have worked.

Try #1: system crashed
Try #2: ran as administrator; game worked, but crashed on exit
Try #3: switched to (recommended) XP service pack 2; game worked, crashed when I tried to switch to windowed mode

I managed to find the control file, and manually switched back to full-screen mode.

Am not going to try again tonight.

Reason: when I did play, I couldn't figure out how the wheel-thingie worked. You know, the game play that everyone else was complaining was simplistic?

Need to re-charge the brain-power before trying this game again.

But I have only been able to get about half the games I download here (all puzzlers) to not crash my nice new system ...

Help! How do I unstall this program??? Windows Uninstall does not list it. Revo Uninstaller cannot find it. I see the folder in my program list. No uninstall in the folder.

It is a great game, but wish it gave you the option to skip a bonus puzzle. Stuck on the Wright Bros. map. But had a great half hour so far! And my 5 y/o grandson won't notice if it's started over. Thanks GOTD and MIF2000.

The game starts but I only get a black screen while music is running. When I switch to desktop and back to the game I can see the menu for the fraction of a second. Then the screen turns black again...

Try changing your screen resolution temporarily. If you can then get into the options change it there then go back to your normal resolution. If you're still getting a black screen try updating your graphics drivers to the latest ones for XP and your graphics card. You should easily find the drivers for your card by going to the ATI site.

If that doesn't work try the alternative download from MyPlayCity and see if you get the same problem. I hope at least one of those suggestions works.

Maybe also try delete then reinstall the game.

yes, it DOES give you the option to install (or not) Software Informer. it is part of the setup...a box you must uncheck to prevent installation, but it is there.

I'm grateful for this game, but it is probably the most boring one I've ever played. I literally said, "Oh, no...not another level!" at the start of every level after the first two or so. Maybe it's just me. I've lost interest in most line-up type games anyway. I couldn't get far enough along to see if the play ever varies.

I would give it a thumbs-up if I could because it is well-made and cute, and I think a young child might enjoy it for a little while. But -- for me, at least -- it needs something to make it more interesting.

If I understand correctly and I'm afraid I don't, we are supposed to run the game by using the setup.exe in the Ideabox folder in the Games folder on the "C" drive after installing and activation. I'm sorry to say that I'm not quite sure exactly what to do with the run part of the process. It is activated.

Thank You for any help you could provide and thank you to GGOTD for making these games available. I'm looking forward to having my grasndkids give this one it a try.

Open up the installed folder and right click on the pink pig icon and select send to then move across to the menu and select Desktop (Create Shortcut). You will then be able to play the game from the short cut on your desk top. Unfortunately most giveaway games don't install shortcuts. If you want a shortcut in the start menu programs list I've written a simple tutorial on how to create one. Just go to the game discussion forums and look in the stickies for the thread that deals with the subject.

I downloaded it the usual way but when i had installed it and clicked the button nothing happens except my cursor going to the upperleft corner of my screen. There are more games on my laptop that I downloaded here and this is the first time I had problems.

Sorry to hear you're having issues. I've had problems with some games doing exactly the same thing. Rebooting the computer may fix the problem. If not , delete and reinstall. If you continue to get the problem it seems like it could be a configuration proble. Try updating your graphics drivers. And a long shot as it doesn't mention anything about OpenGL, try installing that (It's free), just Google it. Before you install or make changes to your computer, do create a restore point. :) I hope these suggestions help.

I've checked the links and all the coding had been messed up somehow, so I've removed the coding so you'll see the actual links; all of which now work. Thanks for pointing that problem out. :) They have been posted for seven hours so I'm surprised no one else noticed. (Maybe it's time I stopped spending so much time posting external links, as hardly anyone appears to bother with them. :) )

WARNING!
This download installs Software Informer without alerting you OR giving you the option to decline! It DOES NOT appear in your Control Panel to be uninstalled. I had to manually go to C:\Program Files and uninstall it.

MyPlayCity has nothing to do with Software Informer, nor with the game giveaway. The links to MyPlayCity were added because you can get the game there 24/7, though today's giveaway is better because you don't have the phone home irritation everytime you shut the game down.

Software Informer have an arrangement with the Giveaway project which allows giveaway community members to download a reasonably useful piece of software that enables you to update some programs to their latest versions; much like Version Tracker, that costs around $70 a year to subscribe to. (Though it's not as good as Version Tracker).

You are wrong when you say the installation of Sofware Informer does not give you the option to decline it. Yes it does. Granted it is easy to miss the checkbox when you download and install the game or software from the other side of the giveaway project as both initially appear in the same window. However the ultimate responsibility is yours. The check box to install Software Informer is checked, so you need to uncheck it before you allow anything to be downloaded otherwise software Informer will be installed.

As with anything you download from the internet, you should always read anything that's written on the installation windows before you allow downloads to begin. It appears that you did not this time. Sorry it's caused you hassle.

Downloaded easily, without incident on my win7 64bit. Plays well, and looks to be a good game for the grandkids. I would recommend that the sound and music be given a volume control rather than a simple on or off option. Otherwise, a cute game. Thank you GOTD for bringing one around again.

The graphics look ideal for children, though the game play is suitable for adults as well. There are several awards you can win by creating long chains of bubbles with at least seven bubbles included in the chain or for creating combos. I won that award virtually on my first move and created 40 combination moves. You’ll require decent special awareness to play this game. To create matches of three or more you turn a groups of six bubbles around an axis of one bubble which remains stationary. Matches don’t occur until you’ve completed a move. At the end of each level you have to click on bubbles that float across the palying area; the more you collect the sooner you get to play one of the mini games, the first of which was an extremely simple puzzle that a child of three or four could easily complete.

If you get stuck on the main match three or more section there is a hint button that can be used to get you moving again.

Unfortunately I was working on the wrong game until 3am this morning so haven’t had enough time to write up a decent review. The above images and the link to the video below should give you an idea as to what to expect.
