Whiterabbit-uk, There are 'levels' besides the blue bar at top (which is for when you can get an upgrade). If you scroll to the right using your right arrow key there is a white counter at the top (which should always be on display actually). When that hits zero and you destroy the enemies at that point the level will end and say Protect the lord again with your existing traps disappearing and sometimes then will start to have new types of enemies appear. For some reason it doesnt show the level number which is what threw me off initially, but when I bought it on steam the achievements show 10 levels. I have passed only 6-7 (599 counter) when doing the basic overview below so I'll have to redo it in steam at some point to get the achievements there only because I saw that no one has passed level 10 apparently so thought it might be a challenge if its possible.

DataDragon,
Thanks for the feedback DataDragon. I was offline for a while yesterday due to our electricity being shut off while an electrician did some repairs, so I wasn't able to replay the game later in the day.

Over many decades you built up your evil empire and your place at the very top...but now everyone wants your lofty spot and treasures to boot - probably why the star wars sith limit themselves to just a master and a single apprentice to deal with pesky ambition... but how to deal with outsiders like other aspiring evildoers?. Of course if you are a dragon you can defend it yourself and with traps Dragon Lair style, or like in Dungeon Keeper or Tecmo's Deception, placing the player in the role of an evil lord who must use traps and monsters to kill the adventuring parties/heroes which invade his castle.
In this game however its a 2D tower defense style game with a top down view and pixel art graphics where enemies come at you from right to left in defined lanes. You place traps in the lanes (and other areas like the top for arrows raining down) as well as instant use items that cause immediate damage to stop them from getting to your lord. Your lord is capable of fighting hand to hand with a backup of mouse click explosions that can be used a certain number of times indicated in the upper right. Plants vs. Zombies popularized the lane tower defense style to generate its own genre. There are pick ups after defeating enemies you must move your mouse over that enable you to have more money for defenses to aid in the battle so there is a lot of arcade like interaction rather than say just placing traps and watch what happens which some may or may not like. You also can choose a random upgrade from a choice of 3 after each certain amount of enemies is vanquished indicated by the upper blue line. There are different types of enemies, with different abilities such as being able to heal their compatriots.
There is unfortunately no pause of the enemy progression so you can read your info on the traps as to their cost for example- its all real time and this needs to be implemented. There was a bit of problem also with the text shown under the upgrade choices where it did not refresh one to another and looked garbled. There are no instructions! at all, such as the blue bar above the lord releases a minion to help when it goes down fully, the upper right red circle is your mana that lets you click on or by an enemy to create an explosion arcade like a certain number of displayed times and regenerates as the yellow bar underneath goes down to zero (plus some upgrades can amplify it) but does not refill its uses at a level change so keep that in mind beyond the first levels. This should be used as a backup when traps fail. The yellow/red coin in upper left allows you to buy the traps and slowly increases with time. When you view a trap on the bottom it shows how much that trap costs either in the gold or red coin, some like mines and saws and plant use the red coin instead that can be used such as when you have no more explosions left to generate some immediate damage like the mouse click explosion, while the set traps use the gold. Speaking of levels, the blue bar at top center is the progression of killing enemies to get your upgrade (gives 5 per killing in early level) but there is no real wave end that I see, it just temporarily goes to the upgrade choice then continues where it was so its mostly one ongoing level rather than separate waves/levels. Some of that design could be ok since your arrows, firepits and other traps remain for the ongoing onslaught which gets heavier as time passes. A&D keys are shown to move left and right but left and right arrow keys worked as well. Note that Dungeons and Myths 2 is expected to be released on Jan 31st according to steam where units are also coming from your side that attack the enemy and has more enemies it says and buying this one vs the freebie looks like it adds steam achievements. This game is at least worth downloading and trying as it has some fun to it. Rating: C but could be better with improvements such as fixing the text bug, pausing, level ending, instructions even before discussing any gameplay. At the moment it looks more like something I will play a short time then not again in this version but has some promise. Hopefully the new version fixes some of these and will continue development ongoing, although without feedback such as the above and reviews and posts to help the developer know whats good or bad, these games end up in obscurity.
