In Brief:

Hiddenverse: Tale of Ariadna is the second game released in the Hiddenverse series of games of which there are now seven. We were given the first in the series (i.e. Hiddenverse: The Iron Tower last Sunday 16th January

It's one of those hidden object games of the clutter variety where you'll find a mixture of matching pairs and triples as well as match three puzzles (bonus levels, with a limited number of tries), rearrange the strips, find both parts of the same object, find the large and small objects of the same type plus other mini games with different game mechanics (various sites that sell this game say there are around 20 different game mechanics available). There's a timed and an untimed mode available just like last weeks game. You can change between the timed and untimed modes via the options menu.

Todays has never been given away here before.

You can see several videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE; and, if you go to the bottom of the page HERE you'll find some BFG community comments.

The Game:
Virtually the same as last weeks game, but with a different story and more puzzles of the same type, but with different objects. If you enjoyed Hiddenverse: The Iron Tower , you'll probably like this one too. Of all the different types of hidden object types there are, this is the only type I actually enjoy playing these days. Well worth downloading in my opinion.

Whiterabbit-uk,

Other Free Games:
For other free games, please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies; it's kept up to date frequently, whenever a free game becomes available, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links at the top of this comment as well.
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:

1) ... Six Sides of the World (a puzzle videogame that takes you into an intergalactic journey through different star systems riddled with brain-racking challenges)

2) ... Byte Family (this one was given away previously, but was then removed from the free section, another chance to grab) it - Overcome obstacles and restore the cyber world Byte Family, eliminating the system virus, unlocking new game modes and gaining new skills!

3) ... Avani: The Primal Land (Explore, gather, learn, craft and build in the world of Avani: The Primal Land. Fight, hunt and tame wild animals. Animals have their own genetics and no animal is like the other. The interactive taming process allows making a real bond with each tame. Avani offers a unique crafting system combined with a huge skill tree and an intuitive building system mixed with traditional survival game elements)

4) ... Cov Shooter (Try to survive as many waves as possible, upgrade your stats and weapons to do that)

5) ... Alone on Mars, (a 2D survival shooter on Mars)

6) ... WTC : Relentless Protagonist [Sxs}, (a short mostly KINETIC comedy/drama visual novel)

The following (previously) free games have now been removed from the free library: Garfield Kart, Nostradamus the Last Prophecy, Snowball, Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas , Die Young (Full version), Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner, and Contract with the Devil. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (112 games are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; so, you should grab them as soon as you can.

The latest game from Epic games is Relicta a first-person physics-based puzzle game where you need to creatively combine magnetism and gravity to unravel the secrets of Chandra Base. Play as a top physicist stranded on an eerie, derelict Moon base. Find your way around the enigmatic, terraformed craters by bending gravity and magnetism to your will in order to solve physical puzzles. Will you rush straight ahead and try to reach safety - or will you take your time to gather clues and unravel the intrigues of 22nd century orbital politics? Buried in the eternal darkness of the lunar craters lies a secret that might claim your daughter’s life - or change the fate of humanity forever. Are you ready to face the ultimate consequences of your research?

From Thursday 27th January at 4pm UK/11am Eastern we will be getting DAEMON X MACHINA - Pilot your fully customizable Arsenal mech and join your fellow mercenaries in defending humanity from the corrupted machines and gigantic robots in this post-apocalyptic action game!
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. You can find Fanatical games (that used to be called Bundle stars) HERE.

I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis. I won't be posting them daily this time; only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE

So far I've posted eight excellent PC games, plus one android game as well as suggested or linked to others similar to the ones posted i.e.

1) ... Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe (a squad based solo shooter)
2) ... Battlegroup 44 (a free standing mod for Battlefield 2 that is a follow up to the original Battlefield 1942)
3) ... Slam Tilt (an excellent pinball game with four tables)
4) ... 3-D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night, (one of my all time favorite pinball games from the mid 90's).
5} ... Breakquest (one of my all time top ten 2D breakouts)
6) ... Messy Paths (an android game)
7) ... Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles (fan made free standing Castelvania game)
8) ... Conflict Vietnam (third person squad based shooter)
9) ... Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2006 Trophy Season

Last weeks free game from Falcoware i.e. Black And White Apocalypse by the developer hammergames is apparently always free and can also be downloaded as a colour version. The community member Space pointed this out yesterday. You can find both versions over on itch.io via the following links. Black & White version, and Coloured version. :)

You can also find 'all nine' of the developers games (for free) HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

Stay safe everyone.

When playing the "find each half" game, the mouse doesn't click in the right spot on this and Iron Tower.

Windows 10 on D drive, no issues. Yes is like prior genre and as good as those so for fans still 8.5-9.0/10. No banners, clean sharp graphics. Thanks.

To all of those with the banner problem... It says that we don't have the privilege to access the Toomky splash screen (found in the screenbranding subdirectory). I simply removed the splash.jpg and so far the game has run just fine even after quitting the game and coming back several times.

I posted earlier about problems with the games from this author. Today's game, Hiddenverse Tale of Ariandna, works fine. Nice, enjoyable game with clear graphics and no mouse glitches, well almost none. This is a keeper. I am also not having the issue other folks have noted with a banner at the top. I, however, am not using Windows 10. Big thanks to Toomky Games and GOTD and White Rabbit.

kalmly, Replying to myself. UPDATE: I was wrong. The mouse problems grow the longer I play and remain when I restart. Not as bad in this game as in the previous one, The Iron Tower, which is unusable, Catch the Witch requires sometime 5 or 6 clicks to select an object. Sooo disappointing to find it happening in this game too.

Okay, so far I played 4 pictures, closed, re-opened - no banner.
Played the next 4, closed, re-opened - no banner.
I am on Win10 too and have no idea why I don't have a problem - just wanted to let you all know.

I seem to recall playing this fairly recent and enjoying it very much. Some HOG games are only frame after frame of hidden objects, I don't play those very long before uninstalling. I like the ones that have storylines/quests, and intermingle other puzzle types within the HOGs. The only game I don't care for in this are the clutter-pairs or whatever they're called where there's the big pile of stuff and you have to plug out the pairs or matching pieces. A little tired of match-3 games to. But I don't recall being overwhelmed with them in this game. Give it a go!

I will try this game because I did like Hiddenverse The Iron Tower and the other game by the same folks that was given away a while back. However, I have trouble with these games, and fear I will have more of the same with this one. The problem is selecting items with the mouse. I often have to click 5 or 6 times on an item, trying different areas. Two of the scenes in Hiddenverse are nearly impossible to get through because instead of the item I click on, something below or next to the one I've chosen is selected instead. No one else is reporting this issue so I am hoping someone can tell me what my problem is. I'd love to fix it.

I enjoyed the last one (Iron Tower), except for the VERY frustrating bug (reported the last time it was given away too) that on the "match the halves" the tracking doesn't work so you can't really click properly. Those are a total loss but occur rarely, so the rest of the game is fun, and very similar to Dreamwalker, also given away here. But the banner issues reported, added to the clicking issue with the match the halves segments, makes me leery to download. If a fix for the banner issue is posted, might give it a try, as except for the tech glitches, these are fun.

I love this series of games but, unfortunately, this one has some of the same issues as Hiddenverse: The Iron Tower. A Plot Story (first in series?) plays flawlessly. You would have thought that they would have solved these issues in a newer release.
I have the same banner issue as the others and also in another game in this series. You can't create a new user because any typing goes into the computer language banner. If there's a command to get rid of it, it would be appreciated.
Game SIX: You can't click on certain pieces until you get rid of the pieces below it. The Iron Tower has this issue on the match the halves games. Very frustrating if you are trying to get 3 stars on each level.
A Plot Story is the only one that has no issues.

The compatibility troubleshooter suggested compatibility = Win8, & set that way haven't seen any problems. That's just something to try, if you haven't already -- the game might have problems with certain GPUs &/or their drivers for example. It just shows a black screen in my VBox Win10 VM, but works OK with the GPU built-into my Ryzen 5700G.

When I downloaded it and opened it with the launch, it played fine.
When I closed it and tried to open it again, I have a banner at the top that shows the computer language.
Any idea how to get rid of that? I uninstalled and reinstalled...same thing happened.
Thanks!
I can post a screenshot if someone can tell me how?
