Yes, there are 3 modes. Untimed, casual and challenging. (I forget the actual names but you get the gist)

Gabrielle, You can play in a Relaxed Mode without a Timer, a Normal Timed Mode or Advanced Mode with less time available.

I'm not a huge fan of Match3 and though I've not played this part yet, I have played others in this series and they've been well-crafted and fun to play. Though others in the series have been given away here before, this appears to be the first time "Part One" is showing up. I'm downloading it now and haven't played yet so cannot comment on this particular episode but check out the reviews at the Steam link and they should tell you all you may want to know.
