Hello !

Game interesting : Space invaders in 3D, new position of the player...

But after playing a few minutes, I get bored... Finally, it's just interesting but not good playing.

But thanks for the offer !

downloaded and installed on windows pro 2000 just fine. plays well. nice music, fits the game. another guilt free game of explosions, flames and more explosions. i like this one...the fact that its a tank is really just coincidence .... ;)

I have liked most of Realore Studios offerings on GGOTD and I do like shooter. But this...not so much. I was able to run it on Vista Home premium with no problems. And i didn't really have problems with the controls like others. But I found it rather boring and as others said, a lot like a 3D version of Galaxia. You're in a tank like structure, but it doesn't move except from side to side.

I'd really like to see an RGP (a real one, not one that says they've got a RGP version of match-3) From this company, I really like the look of Build a lot and the Agatha Christi based games.

The game is unbelievably bad. The controls aren't even properly functional in either mode and this destroys the fun. Stay clear of this stinking pile.

This isn't English class.

Here's something to keep in mind: not everyone that visits this site speaks English as a first language, or possibly even as a second language. Among those of us for whom English is the native language, we don't all have perfect grammar or spelling. As long as you can get your point across without someone having to read what you've written several times before they can understand it or have to consult a thesarus or dictionary, what's the problem?

While I do cringe sometimes when I see misspellings of certain words or when I see someone use something like there instead of their or your instead of you're, I've learned to live with it. When typing, I try my best to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation, as well as beginning sentences with capitalization. This includes the times when I am on IRC or chatting via various IM clients. However, I don't have a 100 percent success rate; it happens and I don't think there's anyone who can really say that it's never happened to them. We all make mistakes. Does that mean that I suck at the language or that I'm a moron? What about people that don't type very often or who've learned to type in the AOL/l337 era of communication online and use the shortcuts, abbreviations and acronyms, r they teh suck 2?

Moving on.

As for the game, it's not bad. The graphics are okay, but nothing groundbreaking. I thought the controls were a bit awkward when combined with the first person view as you try to match the enemies' movements and exploit their patterns, whereas most other games that are a clone or rip-off of the tried and true Space Invaders formula are considerably easier to get into. You line up, shoot, dodge enemy fire and live to fight the next wave of attackers. Here, it takes a little more thought, a little more patience and a bit more practice to get used the perspective.

I do play a lot of first person shooters, but this wasn't a game I could just jump into and excel at. Last Galaxy Hero is little more than Space Invaders on a horizonatal plane coming in at you isntead of down from above. Too bad it's not as good or as fun as the source material once was (or still is). There are better SI clones out there. That's not to say this game is a bad one, but I can't really recommend it over any other at this point. The gameplay felt awkward and sluggish, which isn't a good thing when you've got enemies shooting at you and you're unable move freely. I don't expect to be able to whip around at ridiculous speeds or with pinpoint precision either. I would rather have something somewhere in between. Tweak the movement and aiming a bit (I don't think it needs a lot) and you've got something that doesn't feel like a chore.

That's just my 2 cents' worth on the game. I didn't play for a long time, so I have yet to see what else the game has to offer apart from a few different enemy ships and bonuses. I might keep it around for a while and give it another shot when I don't have other things to get done instead of playing games. Perhaps tomorrow, when I'm more awake and not rushing to get something done. BillW50 (comment #12) said it works with a joystick, so that may be worth looking into. If not a joystick, maybe a gamepad would improve the controls.

And if there are any misspelling or grammatical errors, don't hold it against me.

it may be a space invaders clone, but it is still a fun game for the casual gamer, and it has a nostalgic bent to it that older gamers will like. sure the gun is slow, but so what? this is just a game that will take up time while doing other things, like waiting for a document to print or something, for most people. i am running win xp sp2, and i had no problem installing or running it.

Bad points - Weapon shoots too slow, Screen too dark to see what's going on.
Good points - Uninstaller worked nicely ;-)

I could not get this game to run properly on my computer. It started up and ran fine, but I the only thing that I could see was the menu screen. Everything else was either blacked-out or a weird mishmash of polygons. As I could not see what I was doing, I cannot comment on this game.

This is nothing like the old Atari games. The closest that Atari got to this graphical quality(not that it's very high) was with the Jaguar back in 1993, and it wasn't half as good.

Fun little game. Takes getting used to with the motion. Makes for a good 3d "Space Invaders", as someone previously mentioned. Good way to occupy your "down time" at the office, just don't get caught! ;-)

Basically Space Invaders with a couple of added elements but worth a look.

Well I was going to post on the suggestion forum but it looks like there has been no moderator check in there for over 4 weeks now, so I am posting here! I would like to see other titles from this publisher run again, namely: Abandoned Well, Beeline, Jig-swap puzzle, Treasure of Persia and Boom Ball. Also Janes Hotel and Turtle Odyssey 2 look good! Thanks so much!

Installed, activated and played fine.

Enough options for graphics & sound.

I don't mind a 3D space invaders clone, could be fun. But the way this one is put together, simply doesn't do it for me. I'm totally not impressed by the gameplay.

Repetitive? Yes, so is the space invaders concept. However, when the controls for the game are simply too weird or awkward; it becomes tedious really fast.

Concerning this game it's back to the drawing board for the game developers, AFAIC.

Uninstalled. Thanks for the offer though, Realore Studios and GGOTD!

@ # 20, doggie:
Where in the game was that...?

I mean, I only got to level 4 or 5 before I decided this game wasn't for me. So, maybe I missed something... :-þ

A nice game...but not for me. I like that a variety of games that are offered. Get a bit disappointed when it's not one to my liking. But it saves room on the computer and time for me. My husband is impressed with this site. He doesn't like me to download but approves of this site. He doesn't play these games. However he is pleased because then I play (offline) while he plays his XBOX 360. We're both gaming addicts!! As far as other sites (comment # 18, I went to one because of the recommendation and downloaded three games. Thanks Stephen~ Thanks GGOTD!!

This is a very cheap game, the graphics are like something you would see from the old ATARI games and you get board very fast.
The setup window say's the date is 2006 - 2007 but the game is really from 2005, you'll see it at the start of the game.
There is no way I would pay that price for such a cheap game, and one that is so old.
Definitely not the game to download, I will be uninstalling it shortly.

Not a bad game, but very repetative. It is a 3D space invaders or galaga clone or something. I played to level 10 before I quit, just too boring. Same thing over and over and over and over and over. Won't keep this one.

I STILL am waiting for a RPG, GAOTD, a fantasy, dnd type RPG.

To #20 (doggie):

If you're going to make comments about other peoples' poor grammar, try to do it without committing two serious grammatical errors of your own.

Your first sentence is a fragment (it lacks the "to see" verb which would make it complete), and the second sentence is a run-on.

There's an old proverb about not trying to remove the speck from one person's eye until you remove the wood chip from yours. It's good advice.

Wow, those screenshots are deceiving. I was expecting something like Battlezone; I got something like Space Invaders. And, like many folks here, the game did not run well for me, despite the fact that I can play many more sophisticated 3D games with no problems.

Thanks anyhow, GGOTD.

A funny game... controls set to mouse and played fullscreen (on a widescreen)

The powerups that they drop increase firing speed, armor and speed(?).

I like it (not like I liked WarBlade or Continuum..) and will keep it!

Follow the link below to the forums where I have posted a link to The Last Galaxy Heroes review, together with several Freeware and Free legal and commercial space shooters, they are: Fraxy, Realms, Alien Wars, Forbidden Galaxy and Galaxy Strike)

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/2439?replies=1

Notes

There has been a statement repeated several times here and in the forums by one community member saying that some of the games I have posted links to are from a CRACK site. Please follow the link above as it will link you to another post where I explain why the sites in question are not crack sites but Legal and safe downoad sites offering free commercial games I feel the use of the word crack will put some community members off what is agreat oppertunity to get some great commercial games, not only today, but any time.

I apoogise to the community for having to post this here, but I feel strongly about the issue. Thank's

A fairly good game. I still have it from last time it was downloaded in spite of since reinstalling windows... because after installing it last time the setup file unpacked a directory where you could run the game from without needing to worry about keys already needing to be in the registry.

This was the first GGOTD that I ever had to run under Windows 95 compatibility mode to enable it to run on my Windows XP system. Perhaps the same might work for #3? Right-click the icon for the game and change the appropriate setting under the tab. [Note: I have a GeForce 7800 video card]

It's an okay game, but it doesn't tell you in a help file or allow you to set controls. The movements of the aliens are a little unpredictable in that sometimes what looks like a clear hit for their "pattern" will miss them. But it's a cute little time-waster, even if the robotic voice gets a little repetative. I'd say it's worth the free download (heck, just about any game that WORKS, is balanced, and doesn't have something in it that drives me nuts is worth that!), but I wouldn't feel justified in paying for it.

Cheers,
-- Retro

Controls are atrocious... actually let me correct that... you can't even invert the mouse so I don't know whether they are atrocious or not. Up and down go the wrong way for me =.=. +1 for actually being able to change resolution though.

This reminds me of space invaders phoenix & demon attack for the ATARI.

I also think space invaders phoenix & demon attack all with less graphics are better games. It most resembles Space invaders and space invaders is the lease fun out of the 3 mentioned.

Not an ATARI fan don't know what I'm typing about then here is my opinion of the game its self.

The game play is TO SLOW. Your in this tank with decent mouse and keyboard controls. You fire on ships and each hit a seriously damaging and you contentiously think your about to die only to realize you hardly ever get hit by these ships as there to simple to doge their weapons thus making you seemingly invincible making the game appear easy. Harder modes Start to make this game actually fun as way more weaponry shoots at you forcing you do dodge weaponry only to slam into another ships weaponry and it starts becoming fun but this game is so repetitious it gets old fast.

for free this game is not bad but I think this is the first and last time I will be playing it.

I may give it another go but I'm thinking this game is not a keeper and defiantly not something I would pay for. The ATARI with less graphics has better game play.
