Grimland is a side-scrolling platform slasher. The kingdom was attacked by monsters, the Evil necromancer imprisoned the queen in a dungeon.
The queen has a light magical power that can put an end to the horror that is happening, but she is very weak and shackled by magical shackles.
You have to free the queen and return peace and tranquility to the lands of Grimland. The game contains puzzle elements. You are waiting for 3 locations with different types of enemies on them. Enemies differ in health and behavior.

I'm really busy with some important business at the moment, and it looks like it's going to take most of today to complete it so I wouldn't have had the time to play todays game and consequently no review from me either. Unfortunately I won't even have time to play this game tonight because it is my coop night with some good friends (all of which I met here via the game giveaway).

Hopefully Jason will post some words about the game later.

You'll find regularly updated details of all the reasonable game deals and freebies that I can find HERE . I update the thread every few days (unless I'm really busy).

The latest freebie from Steam is the excellent Massive Multiplayer Online ARK: Survival Evolved (includes a single player mode) together with seven of it's DLC's (these are not skins but actual add-ons that include six additional maps and a total conversion DLC). Grab it while it's free until the 19th June. Brief explanation of the game - You are stranded on the shores of a mysterious island, and must learn to survive. Use your cunning to kill or tame the primeval creatures roaming the land, and encounter other players to survive, dominate... and escape! .

Also free via Steam until the 22nd June is Capcom Arcade Stadium and Capcom Arcade Stadium：STREET FIGHTER II - The World Warrior HERE. With your download you also get to relive the Capcom classics! Get 1943 -The Battle of Midway- and game logo wallpapers free!

Also free via GOG (ends soon) is Shantae and the Pirate's Curse HERE that ends Friday at 1pm UK/8am Eastern. There will be at least one other game given away via GOG on the 17th June with possibly more to come, so keep checking the page I've linked to. Also free via GOG is the Unity version of the second Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall HERE (one of my favourite RPG franchises).

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 57 antimalware engines. You can see the result via the following link:

If you're still not convinced of the games efficacy and want to be absolutely sure that the game is safe to install, please use a sandbox program first, to check that the game is safe to install before installing it to your C drive or other drives on your computer (assuming you have more than one drive).

Personally I've never had any issues with any of falcowares games, even when the Falcoware installer was included.

There are free sandbox programs such as Sanboxie, GeSWall, BitBox, Windows Sandbox, Bufferzone (a six month commercial license was given away via the applications side of the project back in December 2009 HERE), Shadowzone, as well as others. (You'll find them all on the same page from Techwhoop.

Today's game given away is actually unique in a sense. You buy items like Zelda or other retro RPGs, you run and slash like Castlevania.

The design of the game is fantastic with retro style 16 bit graphics with fantastic visual effects - Something I have not seen in a run and slash game in a long time.

In the beginning of the game as shown by WhiteRabbit Uk screen shot, I saw the controls displayed on screen and they simple to the point where you can use the arrow keys to move your character and the other functions etc.

The enemies in the game can be pretty tough for small pixels :) Especially that eagle in the beginning of the game. You have to learn the patterns and learn how to attack the enemies correct. Striking your sword just a tad late can make your character take a lot of damage already and you'll see game over in no time. So the challenge factor is there.

Also my advice to anyone who is playing should they find they are stuck - explore everywhere. I found myself at one point in the game where I was not able to progress through the beginning of the game, I backtracked and found out what I did wrong.

Overall today's game is very much worth grabbing and keeping in your games library to play over and over again. One of the undiscovered gems given away thanks to GGOTD.

(On a side note , I don't know if this game supports a controller or not but if it were to that would make the game even more of a plus to play )

Thanks for posting your feedback Jason; I just haven't the time today. Some legal matters to sort. If anyone from the community enjoys todays game, you've got to get the freebie Shantae and the Pirates Curse, a fantastic side scrolling high energy platformer with gorgeous pixel graphics. Not sure how long is left to claim the game, but it's ending very soon. Also on GOG is the Insomnia Promo, where every six hours a new game will appear with an insane amount of discount HERE.

p.s. Would just like to say, its great someone else is posting decent feedback for a change. It's been a long time since I've had any help; that is, apart from Delenn.

Got to go, waiting for a call from my legal team.

There was a similar game to this with the exact same shop mechanic and side scrolling platformer that was given away some time ago I think earlier this year or late last year.. Will check through the listings later if I have time as the name escapes me; also, Dungeon Adventure that was given away early May had the same monster with the turban like hat.
