Hi Joe, Sorry for the delay in answering you're post. You mention your DirectX is up to date, but you didn't mention your display drivers. Try updating those as well. Hope this fixes the problem. :idea: Remember this is a free standing game, so I'd save the games folder and try it at a later date if you have no sucess now. Maybe after yur next windows install you could try it them. :lol:

I found your website about 3 months ago. Some of the games offered I don't download, but I did downloaded Top Chef and Golden Prague. They are both worth the free download. In this day and age we all need a break, if only to spend some mindless time. This site is great, so far the downloads have worked great! Thank you

That is a great idea! I was quite disappointed to see so much complaining, I do wish there were more new games but it is quite understandable. Plus there are new people here all the time, I am sure they would appreciate a chance at some of the previous games. Your idea would really be a good thing for all members of the community, I hope GOTD can arrange for this to happen.
After all, the buyers are hit by this recession too, the more we get free from each publisher, the more we know them and their games, the more they go up on our "buy from" and "trust" lists.
It's a winner all around.

I have D\L the game and it installed fine but will not run. All i get is a black windowed box and music playing in the background. I let it sit for awhile but nothing seems to happen. I can't even close the game box , except to do the ctrl\alt\del and end the running process. All direct X and flash are up to date. Any suggestions?
p.s. I am running xp sp2 2gig mem, 4 gig process with nvidia 64 graph.

I've noticed several complaints about repeats lately, as well as several thank-you's for the repeats of popular games, and Whiterabbit aka Stephen's speculations about the reasons for the lack of new offerings. I would like to make a suggestion if I may. If there is, in fact, a shortage of new games to be given away, why not offer one new game and one repeat of a past popular game each weekend, with both games available for download for two days instead of one. This way, if someone misses the new game on Saturday, they can still get it on Sunday. And if someone downloads the games on Saturday, they won't come back on Sunday complaining that it's a repeat.

This game is so addicting, I played it to the end. I love it! Thank you GGOTD!

It's got to be something wrong with your system. Have you tried cleaning out your internet cache? I had a similar problem some time ago so cleared out my temporary folders and internet cache and it then worked. Just a suggestion.

I agree with Ruxandra in comment #31. The key wrapper won't work, insisting that the key is invalid. I read through the fixes portion and don't see anything specifically addressing this problem; it is a problem I've had occasionally before with your games. i must say it is disappointing, with the high marks spoken here. A free time waster isn't worth this much annoyance.

I have played these types of games before I really enjoy them. The thing I like about this one is it's relaxed mode. Had no problem downloading and installing thanks guys more like this and Archibald's adventures please

Hi James, You can just delete the installed folder. The game is free standing which means there's minimal registry entries, mainly pertaining to unzipping the original game giveaway file and unzipping it.

Hi David, maybe you could use it as a teaching aid? No disrespect meant. Using the time freeze program in conjunction with this game and a good dictionary of your language to English may be a fun way of learning English vocabuary. :)

why no multilanguage game for the people who is not good in english like me, i would like to play this kind of game..

This is a very good game! The graphics are beautiful and the variety of games is refreshing-hidden object, black and white, outlines, spot the differences, what does not belong, and a flashlight mode. The game play is smooth and you can click on items as fast as you find them.
So far, I have not found anything mislabeled and I personally like a word like cone having several meanings: traffic cone, ice cream cone or pine cone.
Music is nice in the background.
This is as nice as any game I have paid for and more interesting than some. Well done and thank you!

Downloads, installs, and runs fine on Windows 7 build 7000.

How do I uninstall? It's not showing up in "Add or Remove Programs" and there's no Uninstall in the folder.

One of my very favorite games. I love hiddne objects and this is one of the nicest. I downloaded it last time (to an external drive) and thought I had lost it when I had to replace my old computer in January. Bless you again Whiterabbit for letting me know it was freestanding :)

I am going to redownload it as somehow my old version no longer lets me repeat a level if time runs out. It just sits there at 0 seconds left. The only way to get past this is to return to the main menu and create a new user name. No idea why this has started to happen in the last couple of months.

Tiny problems with the game:

The windowed version causes multiple crashes (although sometimes it worked perfectly). My solution - I always run it in full screen. I would probably play this more often if I could use windowed as I use most of my games as quick breaks while working (self employed so my boss doesn't mind me playing games on work time).

Some of the item names can be misleading until you have seen them for the first time. The 2 that come to mind are 'cricket' which is actually a cricket bat and 'cigarette' which in day 1 or 2 (can't recall which) is a cigarette holder while in one of the later days it is a cigarette. Again - very minor quibble and certainly not enough to give the game a downcheck.

FWIW I am glad to see repeats here. For newcomers, or those have lost the old version through reformats or other problems, they are terrific! Even if GGAOTD used Saturday for new games and Sunday for repeats there would still be 52 brand new FREE games per year, plus all the freebies Whiterabbit posts in his reviews and on the forums.

The pictures reminds me of an other game with an other name. are the scenes reused or something

I found the first puzzle in the room to be difficult to see. the side of the bed was so dark that you could tell something was there but not what. even at 100% brightness I clicked in the area guessing something in the list might be there.

Downloaded and ran on XP just fine and is addicting! However I'm having trouble installing on laptop running Vista. I'll go through the comments and try some fixes.

Gonwk, Stephen (whiterabbit) is correct, this is not an on-line game. I also lost this one due to hard drive problems, and I'm glad to see it back.

Any idea if GAOTD will be releasing the magnifier like they did the last time? I found that helped in finding the objects..

gonwk, this is NOT an online game. Once downloaded and installed then activated (which is automated and does require an online connection, the game is then entirely free standing. you require NO internet connection to play it.

I hope you find this message before the giveaway is over.

Installed smoothly, works well, looks beautiful.

And about the wallpapers - in the first post it says:

Well, I've been to Prague just twice (for a few weeks) but I recongnize each of the pictures as original photos from Prague. I have no idea why those mentioned people didn't see that because those are quite famous places there (maybe apart from the metro picture ;-)

I almost downloaded this game since it sounded "good" until I found out you have to play it ONLINE. I wish GGAOTD would post this on the Top of the Page so it is clear if it is an "Online" game!

Hi. First, thanks for this game. I love hidden object games. Second, I wasn't sure it was a hidden object game until I've read more than half of the review provided by Whiterabbit. YES!!!! I lost this game when my hated-Vista had to be restored (TWICE... grrr, long story best forgotten).

I like this game and so I'm SO glad to get it back. I know folks want "new and improved", but sometimes it's nice to have a repeat, so that those who've had computer problems (or those new to GAOTD) can enjoy the programs.

Thank you for offering this again. I had to reformat my hard drive since the last time you gave this away so I had lost this game. I really love HOGs

Have you read the Possible Problems and Fixes section in the first post above? There are several fixes that I copied from those suggested when the game was last given away. I'd recommend you try those and perhaps read over the previous comments as well. (see link in first post)

Wonderful game! Highly recommended for newbies to GGAOTD. I got it last time it was offered. Because my hard drive was filling up with so many games, I was delighted that it was a stand alone game. I have a backup copy on a disk for when I want to play again.

I won't complain about repeats, either, since some of them are from before I found this fantastic site (almost a year ago).

I downloaded this last time around and took great pleasure in playing through it. Lovely pictures, fun (and sometimes varied) puzzles, and a calming soundtrack make this a great midday break from the norm for casual gamers. Highly recommended.

when i try to install it it says failed to connect. try again later. What is up with it? i'm obliviously connected if i am on the website right now and downloaded it....

I guess give away of the day games is just about done.

Why do I even bother?

I downloaded this game last time it was offered and LOVE it! It's got very relaxing elements but the challenge of finding the hidden objects can be very tricky. There is a time limit & I've had to restart levels several times. I love this game & will be waiting for it to be offered again a third time because I have to reformat my hard drive soon. :-(
