Nice RTS game with progressive increasing difficulty. Definitetly worth trying out. 1 playable race (merman). The opposing force seems a bit tougher stats-wise but isn't too pushing ingame. Otherwise units are comparable and have an near exact counterpart.

For a future version i suggest adding different resolutions / Antialiasing options, maybe also a forced v-sync.

Good work :)

This is one of the few computer games I've actually enjoyed playing and didn't want to uninstall after playing it for a couple of hours. I might even look at other similar games from Big Fish. This was a great giveaway, thanks.

I like this game! It's bright and colorful, but has fighting and destroying, so it will appeal to both females and males. I also like that this game has you make use of strategic mentality. Yes, it's like underwater Warcraft, but isn't as long, giving you a quicker sense of accomplishment when you finish the game. (i.e. it doesn't eat your soul for a month) XD

see it as a nice game. But it freezes after stage 2 and 3 and it does not want to save stage 3 and go on to the next stage. Don't waste your time to download it.

@26. You need the keyboard bacause the game won't progress without pressing a key to continue.

Yeah, I remember this game. I don't think I even had it for an hour before deletion. This kind of war strategy games aren't my kind of thing. And it does remind me of warcraft which I haven't taken out of the drawer of dusty objects for over a year.

#25 Ambrosia.... Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I had already tried them. It never showed up under Programs, let alone have an Uninstall area (that was the first thing I'd checked). The second thing I tried was Add/Remove in the Control Panel and - you guessed it - it didn't show up there either. I then tried CCleaner and WinUtilities, all to no avail. It didn't show up anywhere. I finally just threw it away and am now running various system scans to make sure it's off of my system.
It looked like such a fun game, too.....

It didn't work, probably because I didn't have enough whatever on my computer, which was fine. However the problem was that I couldn't uninstall it. It does not show up in "add/remove programs" & it did not come with an uninstall file. I was only able to delete most of the files in it, but not the program itself. Follow up help would be nice to get it off my computer.

I don't know what so many people are complaining about. This is a great game! I guess if you're used to games like WoW and such, this won't seem spectacular. But I don't play those games, so this is fantastic to me. And even my PS3 jaded 11-year old son likes it.

**#26- Yes, it uses the mouse (as far as I got, anyway).

This game is pure garbage. It won't run, the window freezes, and there is no way to uninstall the game once installed. I can't find the game under any name in the add/remove programs and the winutils application that I downloaded this past week can't find the game, but there are registry entries. I recommend that no one download this game.

I would describe Deep Quest as a fantasy themed RTS for kids. Controls are rather simple (mostly point and click), colors are bright, and about as violent as Disney's The Little Mermaid ever got. Adults will most likely find it boring. No problems running it on Windows Vista. Thanks Merscom & GGOTD!

The graphics don't work for me. Can't read any of the fancy text. And the mouse is extremely difficult to control. I probably have an inadequate graphics card.

#26, you need to hit a key to continue in the menus. The mouse button doesn't do it.

#14 Linda...

I am still running XP with service pack 2, but perhaps this advice will be pertinent, if Microsoft hasn't mucked up anything with service pack 3. Did you check under Programs to see if it has an uninstall? My copy does. Also, if it doesn't have an uninstall, then go to your Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, and choose it from the list. But I am willing to wager if you look under Programs first you will find it does indeed come with an uninstall, as my copy does.

This freezes up on me on the main menu - no mouse (or any) control. When I do ctrl-alt-del, I find a message to copy 3 different files to send to their beta team. As I didn't download this to test it, I tried to uninstall it. 3 different uninstall programs could not find it anywhere on my computer! How do I get rid of the darn thing? I'm running XP with service pack 3.
This is probably not the place to post this, but I figured others should be forwarned that once you have it, you may not be able to use - or get rid - of it.

Maybe its the amount of wine consumed, but this seems realllllyyyy slow in its playing - I fell asleep waiting for my whatevers to get the first challenge - rocks - crystals - whatever. For this sort of game it really has to move faster - monster mash is at least faster and therefore more satisfying - I will now delete the game, but thanks anyway GGOATD

I am a time-management game player, and found this game fairly intriguing the last time it was a giveaway. I also had problems with level 8, found it freezing up and semi-buggy, hopefully this is a new and improved version, I'll be checking back throughout the day hoping that it is! It's been over a month since I've found a game worthy of playing on the comp... so for now, back to VIVA TIP on X-box ;) Happy saturday!

Similar to the old Warcraft from Blizzard (not World of Warcraft). Only the default resolution available with the option to run in Window mode. Simple game play.

Installation does not create an icon on the desktop, as it is only a WinZip self unpacker.

Thoroughly liked the game when it was available here earlier. However, never got past mission 8, which was quite frustrating.
Does anyone know whether this is the same or an improved version of the game?

If you don't have it already, give it a try!

I got this game the last time it was given away. It is a real time strategy game kind of like the original warcraft only underwater with mermen and fish creatures instead of on land with humans and orcs. There are resources that need to be mined by the creatures (I forget what they are named in the game) that are peasants, and they build buildings for different fighting classes so those soldiers/mages can be created by you. There are towers available as well... you get the idea, I'm sure.

The game play is smooth and the instructions easy to follow.

My criticism of the game is that it doesn't have a map editor feature so you can't create your own scenarios, making it limited in that manner of continued playability. Otherwise, the game rocks.

I have played it all the way through a couple of times and it was loads of fun. I highly recommend the game.

Thanks, Merscom, GGOTD Team. Is there a sequel coming out? :-p

Pros:
- decent graphics (for its small installation size)
- simple gameplay
- fast loading
- intuitive interface (if you've played other RTS games before)

Cons:
- lousy unit selection (could do with better work on selection bounding boxes). Try right-clicking an enemy unit that's near a building.
- micro-ing units is a pain (no tab-selection within group)
