Really nice program, especially for children. Download is quick on Win 10, 64 bit, no problems on installation. Nice graphics.
The only downside is that the timer is fast, which makes it hard to grasp what is happening and how to work the game properly.
A relaxed mode would be good, especially for children.
Altogether a nice neat game.

Sa Nad,
Just wanted to add, Happy New Year White Rabbit, let's hope that 2018 is a good one for your family. Trust your wife is doing well and hope that all will be well for her this year.
All the very very best to you, and thank you for the games and this site.

I downloaded Gnome's Garden New Home. Extracted it, ran setup, gave permission for it to make changes to my machine and the install was activated. However there is no Gnome's Garden New Home game to be found anywhere on my computer. Unfortunately repeating the above steps did nothing to correct this problem.

HI!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Hope all well and have a great year to White Rabbit!

The game downloaded fast and opened easily. The game is similar to many others.
Collect the items and move on. Its silly, but you don't see a continuing road, except on the outer map.
Game play is smooth and think it is great for young players and when you don't want a stress timing game.
Thanks for another good game!
Happy New Year!
Lee

Have a great year, may your game collection grow and grow....

Thanks Charles, Unfortunately my game collection is on hold at the moment (probably for a couple of years at the very least). Not purchased a game since July. Realized the futility of trying to play every game I've purchased over the last several years. Of the over 15K games I've purchased, I've only played one game consistently over the last six months (The Elder Scrolls Online) with minimal time on those games are given away here. I have hundreds of amazing games, but just don't have any time to play them at the moment. Still, I'm sure I'll be buying the odd game occasionally. Will be waiting for the latest Call of duty and Mass Effect games to come on decent reductions (probably in a few years time) :) :)

Thank you for all the time, care and effort you have put into this site for so long.

By far my favourite genre. I can usually get through these games, getting gold for each level, in a month or so of occasional (not every day) play. I downloaded this game back in April - and I still have several levels that I could only get silver, and I'm no where near the end! Challenging, but not so much that I'm frustrated by it.

For what it is worth, I popped over to My Play City, too, because I haven't checked there for a bit, and they have a "Gnome's Garden: Christmas Story". I also collected the Hallowe'en one a couple of months back.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank White Rabbit for all he does for the gaming community. And to wish him and his family all the best for the coming year! As well as the other moderators and "behind the scenes" people who work hard to please us :) And, finally, to the other gamers who also come here, and offer comments and hints and helps.

Thanks CatLady. I hope you have a successful and happy 2018. :)

There are sometimes comments that mention uninstalling games, or adding them to your library, or having problems installing games etc... I thought it *might* be helpful to quickly post the method I've used for several years now, in case some part of it seemed like it might be useful.

I start by running the GOTD setup file in a simple Win7 VM [Virtual Machine] with Microsoft's Security Essentials installed -- I've never had a game not install. VMs are stored on VHD [Virtual Hard Disk] files -- I keep a copy of that file as backup, & when the VM starts to get cluttered, I just copy it to replace the copy I work with. To me it's easier than deleting shortcuts etc.

Then I 7-zip the game's folder to make moving it easier -- I usually just use a USB stick to transfer the games, & one larger .7z file generally works better than copying a lot of individual files. On my wife's PC & on her newer 2-in-1, I have a D: partition, with folders named Games1, Games2 etc., where I put the GOTD game folders. I also have a C:\Games folder, with sub folders for organization -- I have them split up alphabetically, but could as easily do it based on the type of game -- and that's where I put the shortcuts to start the games.

With that arrangement I can move or copy, backup/restore etc., that D: partition, along with the Games folder holding the shortcuts, to any Windows device. It's how I copied hundreds of games to her 2-in-1 in 1/2 an hour. With win7 & win10 on her PC, she can play the same games without having them installed twice. I could have just as easily set the partition for her games to another letter, say Y or Z, and that would work well for external drives if space was tight. Since it doesn't effect Windows or the drive/partition it's stored on, there's no reason for my wife to remove a game she gets tired of -- after a while memory fades & it's a new game.

Have a great New Year.

not as much fun as the previous tm games (moai series) but fun enough. Nice little timewaster thanks, GGOTD and MPC

To Rabbit: My friend, I wish you a great year with lots of games, fun family and friends. We really need to catch up someday, don't be a stranger as they say :) (you know how to reach me). Many thanks for a year filled with great game reviews and modding this site for us all
To GOTD: Thanks for the games and the site. Although most games were not really my style, once again some real gems have been added to my library. I wish you all a great 2018 and keep them coming
To all my fellow gotdanians, I wish all a safe ending of 2017 and an awesome game filled 2018.

Hi Mavadelo, really sorry I've not been in touch. We are still figthing the legal case. It's sort of getting there, but has already cost us over 10K in fees and with still more to come yet (got to get another surveyor in), plus we've just got rid of a bad tenant that has defaulted on almost 10 months of rent (costing us almost 12K), I've just not had any time for my favorite things. I've even stopped checking the Steam store and have totally ignored the Christmas sale for the first time ever. I've not even purchased a game since July, which for me is unbelievable. Still, it feels good. I've not forgotten what you've done and will once all the issues have been sorted dedicate a lot of time to the site. I'm still nursing my wife from a brain hemorrhage, which happened back in October (She's much better thankfully). Take care and I will be in touch sometime this year. I am hoping we will finally have everything in order to take the builder to court this year, plus we've just secured a new tenant. Still got a lot of repairs to the house as they did leave it in a mess.

I was able to download and extract but can't connect to run set up of installer - any ideas?

........................................Moderator comment.......................................

Hi Wanda, the giveaway is wrapped in a Themida code that protects it from hackers. Unfortunatelt Themida code can also be used to hide malware, so as a precaution, some anti-malware suites auto-block the installation. The only way around this is either temporarily turn off your computer, install, then turn security back on; or reboot in safe mode with networking then install, then reboot, or whitelist the files with your security.

wanda, I can not install any games from GOTD if my antivirus is switched on. Try disabling your antivirus just while you install. All the games are said to be virus free, and I have never had problems with this.

wanda, BEST SUGGESTION YET!! Safe Mode w/ Networking FTW. Last software I tried to fight through I couldnt figure out. This one simple suggestion got it installed without issue. THANK YOU!

I've reposted an edited version of the comment I made when this was given away earlier this year (April 2nd). I didn't play the game long enough to give a full review partly due to two deaths in the family the previous week. And today we are visiting friends and family then having guests over to see the New Year in, so won't have time to moderate much or post a full review today. Happy New Year to all

Gnome's Garden: New Home
In Brief
Gnome's Garden: New Home is a casual fantasy strategy game! I think this is the fourth in the series, with Gnome's Garden, Gnome's Garden 2 and Gnome's Garden 3: The Thief of Castles being the first three. See link to Steam below where you can get these, one is on sale with 50% off.

Installation:
Gnome's Garden: New Home downloads to a 83.4 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives are able to save games on any drive they wish. The newly installed game is 292 MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed by the user if you prefer:
Four shortcuts are installed to the desktop. three of which can be safely deleted (Play Online Games, MyPlayCity Games and shortcuts to a free online game which vary each week). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you uncheck the box when the additional tasks window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window)

Problems getting the game to work:
If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Gnome's Garden: New Home to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.

If for any reason you want to contact the giveaway team, for example, you have a game to offer the community, or are unable to download the latest game or other issues that the FAQ's thread or these comments don't cover or solve you can do so HERE
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank MyPlayCity for giving away Gnome's Garden: New Homeand with the adware removed; also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games.
Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
If Gnome's Garden: New Home doesn't interest you, but you still hanker for something new to play, you'll find details of some game deals whether they be sale items, indie bundles or games being given away for free HERE (I've not updated the thread in a while, but most of the links still take you to the latest deals).
