There is a problem with turning pieces by double clicking. At times a near by piece will turn instead of the one I clicked on. This is usually not a big problem, but if I have the puzzle in locked mode (clicked on the paper clip) the whole puzzle has sometimes turned. Since the puzzle is lock, I cannot simply double click on it to turn it a few times to get it back in an upright position. NOTE: The paper click was not visible after the puzzle turned. So I am left trying to work on the puzzle sideways or upside down. In some of these cases part of the puzzle is off the screen. Either this problem needs to be fixed or at least there needs to be a way to unlock the puzzle when this happens.

An improvement I would suggest is to allow the player to be able to change the background color. Sometime it was hard to see the sky pieces on the light blue background.

Oops, forgot the main thing I wanted to mention. Runs on very low resources, less than the listed specs. Probably run on just about any machine.

Like the "game". Quick comments:
Music: I don't consider this a problem. I'm not sure why it bothers folks. Music is generally used to create an atmosphere which augments the "game world". This isn't a game world. This is a series of jigsaw puzzles. I don't usually need music to do a jigsaw puzzle. I can take it or leave it. I respect people who don't like the music. But, do you really need music to do a jigsaw puzzle. I don't. If you do, might I suggest you get out your cds.

Again, I like the game. But I wonder if the developers couldn't put in a little more effort. I'm sure it would get more sales for them.

Specifically, there's really no reason the locking of the paper clip can't be fixed. I'm no coder, but it doesn't strike me as a tough fix.

More importantly, the developers make no effort to create interest or atmosphere by giving the puzzle informative titles. Taking a picture of a cathedral and calling it "Europe", or a castle or mansion and calling it "Green Fields" seems lazy. Or maybe it's a copyright issue. In which case - whoops - forget I mentioned it. But, if it isn't about copyright, then taking the extra effort to properly identify as many of the landmarks as possible - which is standard in puzzledom - would greatly increase interest and add some educational interest for kids. The kids could then dig up info on the landmark if they get interested, making it an educational program, too. That would definitely be a sales booster.

To those who say if you don't like the sound, turn down the volume, turn it off, change the music, or whatever, consider there are some people who choose to work puzzles while doing something else like listening to an audiobook or podcast with the software for those applications.

I'm one who believes no application (or web site for that matter) has the right to blast music at me without my permission. There is no good reason for a game to have background music. If someone wants to listen to music while playing a game, there are plenty of applications to do so. If a game developer wants me to hear their favorite music, at least give me the ability to say no and shut it off.

I was able to remove the music files and still launch/play the game. I would still like to turn off the bizarre sounds made by the puzzle pieces but unlike the music, that's tolerable when listening to other audio sources.

...........................Moderator Comment...........................

Thank you for your feedback Terri, you can turn the music off without having to turn everything else off by right clicking on the volume symbol in the tray next to your clock abd clicking on 'Open Volume Mixer', then specifically selecting the volume slider for the game assuming you have Vista or Win 7; that effectively isolates all sounds coming from the game I posted an image above in aswer to this uestion earlier in the giveaway showing you the volume panel.

Don't know if this is a bug or what happened. On Green Field, set to medium, ghost preview at 0%, two pieces were “missing” when I finished the rest of the puzzle. When I click Show Hint, a piece is dragged in from off the top of the screen. I never put any pieces up there, and the piece is inaccessible. I'm running WinXP SP3 on an Acer Aspire One D250. Wish I had a bigger screen or could zoom! Thanks for offering Glamour Puzzle!

I downloaded and played it, and agree with what I have already read. If this is a downgrade of an already much better program then it is reprehensible that they would stop selling something good for more basic versions like this.

However, is the original truly from unavailable? I did a search for Infinite Puzzle and there is still a page on Alawar for it (Infinite Jigsaw Puzzle actually). In fact the original giveaway homepage link goes to it. According to the site you buy the full version from within the downloadable demo- does that method no longer work?

The URL by the way is:
http://www.alawar.com/games/infinitejigsawpuzzle/

Nice one QM. You can see that its made by the same developer. Couldn't remember it being given away by alawar though. I remember it being Fly Games for some reason.

So far, I love it! I wasn't going to download after reading the above, but I really do love jigsaw puzzles. I particularly like the size of the puzzle pieces & the animation that shows you that two pieces really do fit together. The picture was clear & easy to see on my screen.

Negatives for me: 1) I really want to import my own pics. 2) I would like to be able to choose how many pieces rather than easy/medium/hard. 3) I like screen tips/help (that can easily be turned off) the first time I play something. I didn't feel the icons around the edge of the screen were very intuitive. 4) The items on the corners of the background are distracting.

I was having problems getting this activated. I finally found it after it unzipped it. It told me it was in my games folder. It wasn't. I finally found it in an obscure folder in my documents files. I attempted to activate it again and, GUESS WHAT, the activation period has ended....at 9:45 PM.....NOT midnight!!

Very disappointed. I downloaded it early today and worked with it but had to leave for a few hours.

REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN GGOTD!!!!!!!

The only way it could have been installed into your documents folder is if you changed the installation path.
No one else reported this problem. There were thousands of downloads and I can bet they all went to the following path:

I love jigsaw puzzle games and this is far from being the worst I've seen, but it could be a lot better. The images are sharp, but the selection method leaves a lot to be desired. A gallery setup rather than viewing the images one at a time would be a good place to start. More options with the puzzle pieces would also be welcome. Smaller/larger pieces or choose by number of pieces. Some jigsaw games go a little crazy with the puzzle piece shape options. If you can't add your own images, it would be nice to have at least one other "shape" option for the pieces to improve re-playability. Having said that, some puzzles come up with pieces shaped differently to the standard jigsaw piece so they obviously thought about different shaped pieces. One piece shape involved curves and might be my least favorite puzzle piece shape of all time.

Personally, the mechanics were okay, but I'd like to have a click to select piece option instead of click, hold, and drag. I'd also like an option to bring pieces to the forefront or send completed sections back. I like the slider for the ghost image opacity. I'm not sure why the puzzle doesn't encompass the entire image. It looks like it is usually the bottom edge that is trimmed. If you aren't giving users the ability to use their own images (thereby giving up the control of piece size to image size ratio) there's no reason to have the photos not match up exactly.

As a giveaway I'd keep it, but if I had to pay I'd look for a jigsaw puzzler with more options.

After installing I got the popup window that says "Successfully activated". When I closed it, instead of the usual "Successfully actived" page I got the message "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." like 16, 17 and 38. I've never seen this before. It seems to me that the question they're actually asking is: is it really activated and is there a way to know it is? It isn't a question of paths and files and shortcuts because the game is where it should be and the game runs. Well, it's not running well but it might tomorrow after a fresh boot. Thanks for the pointer about send to desktop since I always make my shortcuts the long way and this is much better.

Re: my prior post; #27
I got it working now. Knowing this is a 2009 app, I changed the compatibility of the app to "Disable visual themes", "Disable desktop composition", and "Run this program as an administrator". And that worked. As for the music, delete the two existing tracks and put several of your favorite MP3 and rename them to "mnu0001.MP3", "mnu0002.MP3", "mnu0003.MP3", etc. in this sequence.
Thanks to GGOTD mod & team!

Nice puzzles it's actually a sort of adictive. Didn't know i liked jigsaw, but it seems i do. It would be nice to make (various shaped) puzzles with pictures of your own (like already mentioned), but i'm sure i'm gonna be busy with it for a long time the way it is!

I liked this for about the first hour. The puzzle "jumping" with each piece was annoying, but nothing I couldn't get past. Then a big section of puzzle (20 or 30 pieces) I had put together suddenly disappeared. I moved the frame all around and couldn't see it anywhere. I gave up on that and went on building, thinking that maybe if I got the rest done, then exited and re-entered the chunk would show back up. No matter how many times I aligned and locked the puzzle frame, it kept jumping and moving and eventually rotated itself (when I was trying to rotate a single piece) to the point where it wouldn't rotate back around so I could continue to work. So I exited and re-entered. Voila! There was my missing chunk and the frame was back in its proper upright position. I picked up the chunk, rotated it, and put it into place. But it locked into place offset from where it should be, making it impossible to put other pieces around it and have them lock into the puzzle. I clicked on the chunk trying to move it, and the frame rotated around again to where I couldn't grab it. Three more times out and back through the menu and restarting the application to no avail. I can't get the picture back upright to even start to work it. Please fix these issues. I'm uninstalling this buggy thing and going back to playing Carl's Classics, where I can import any pictures I want and play a game that actually works.

.........................Moderator comment.....................

Thank you for your feedback Lori. I haven't had any problems with this game so far, but to be hoest I probably won't keep it either because I still have their original puzzle (Infinite Puzzle) which is much better in every way.

For anyone who doesn't know what Carls Classics is, it's a collection of classic games such a sbackgammon, Checkers, chess Reversi and jigsaw puzzles to name just a f. You can check the download page via the follwoing link. The cost of the game is very reasonable considering the number of games you get at only $9.95:

Thanks for the good advice on the portable drives and the warning too - had no idea about any of that. I agree that most games are bloated these days with tons of graphics especially, but my compy is a laptop with a graphics chip and no Pixel Shader. At all. So that means there's tons of high MB/GB games I can't even display much less store. >.<' Interesting how mod'ing a game can size like that - something I've never tried. I'm going to Notepad and save the info you provided so I'll have it handy.

Cheers, Mr. Whiterabbit. ^_^

.....................Moderator comment.......................

Thank you Dana, I hope you find it useful. Have you though of upgradig your laptop? Depending on what make it is (Dell don't lend themselves to upgrading) you may be able to install a better Graphics card and put in a bigger hard drive. I could work out cheaper than buying a new one. Though it would be even cheaper if you did the work yourself. Honestly, upgrading is easier than you may realize. It's basically plug and play hardware these days.So you'd unplug the grapnics card and the Hard drive, (which may have a power lead to unplug as well). It's always a good idea to take a digital photo of before you start and close ups of any wiring so that if you get stuck you can refer back. I also tend to use paper tape to label any wires I disconnect (if there are more than a few). I'm only using knoowledge from building desktop computers. Laptops are a little different due to space restrictions. The best thing would be to check videos out on You Tube. you will find videos of virtually any work you may need to carry out on a computer including changing graphics cards a nd hard drives from lap tops, 'maybe' even the very same model you have, which would simplyfy things somewhat. :)

Instead of saying how well the game is, I'll just address loose issues by the commentators.

-Music: Looks like the program scans the music folder. If you want silence, rename the entire folder.
-Activation complete page: Don't mind it. The GGOTD team probably put the wrong link in the wrapper data. Anyway, I don't even care for the page, and it's a poor indicator of activation status. I guess the only use for it is to show that the wrapper successfully decrypted the giveaway, and nothing more.
-Where's the game, exactly?: By default it's in C:\Games\RELEASE. Don't ask me why the GGOTD team didn't rename it to something sensible.

@34: You must have stuck a demo version of the game in your folder before. This one only contains the RELEASE folder.
-More puzzles: I did a bit of research last time Fly Games' puzzle games were given away. I don't have anything new now, other than the program's probably using some MFC serialization features. Search me up from the other giveaways: http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/lovely-puzzles/ and http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/family-puzzle/. Note the links are probably broken.

......................Moderator comment...................

Ah yes, you are right re the demo version. I already had the game installed from some time ago and had renamed the RELEASE folder to Glamour but had forgotten, so it looked at first glance that the previous user was correct in their assumption. ;-)

As always thanks for your in depth feed back about the games.

Hi,
Just wanted to know if there are several different "Glamor" puzzles out there. I downloaded what I thought was a different one and after starting to play it, found it was the same as I already have. But the picture of the actual game was different. So I had to uninstall, using precious time I could have been playing another game! :-( I do love the puzzle, however and hope this one would be more pictures to be put together. As far as the music, (elevator music), well I turn my volumn down so it would eventually become just background noise. Love puzzles, hidden object & match 3 games, especially if they are a combination of all three! Just a comment on the moderator's writing about "My Play City" games. I've played almost all of the games in the gen"re I choose, but when they started to force their toolbar and homepage I started having problems getting the games to work! Now that they don't force this, anymore, the games work! Note to MyPlayCity: Don't mess with a good thing, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Thank you for this site! It's great!

........................Moderator comment....................

Sometimes the fee game sites change the name of the game for licencong reasons all of the games you get from those sites are still commercial games sold elsewhere. You will also find a couple of the other jigsaw games sold by Fly Games have some crossover with images. In total I counted over 600 different images once I'd added all of the .box images from the rest of the puzzles. It didn't affect the running of the game at all. i just had to scroll longer to get to particular images. 600+ is a lot of jigsaws, lol. (Remember the installed game only comes with around 130 images).

I like this! I played one puzzle on easy, then tried medium, and what a difference. Do I want to see hard??? I'm on my laptop, and afraid the pieces are soooooo small. But love the soundtrack, even if no one else does.

Alas, I tried Ctrl+S, and it did nothing. I'm running Win 7 32 bit. I really wanted to sort the edges on the medium difficulty. Any suggestions?

I'm also getting a wide screen with black bands top and bottom. I'd like to get full screen, since the pieces are already small.

I would like to see the puzzles sorted by genre, and you could select a genre, then see the puzzles all in thumbnails on one screen to pick from. I'd also like more animals and and landscapes and less of the classic old masters paintings, which I have little interest in. Just allowing the import of pics would solve that.

Still a worthwhile download, and something to play between "serious" games. ;o)

Look to the bottom left of the playing area nect to the Ghost Image slider. You'll see a button with the letter B. Click on that and all the inside pieces disappear leaving onythe edge pieces. Once you've completed the border the inside pieces will reappear. :)

A jigsaw puzzle is not normally thought of as a competitive game. They are designed for contemplation and wasting time. Therefore no reason to keep score or use timers.

.....................Moderator comment......................

True to a certain extent, but you may have a competitive family who like to see who can complete a puzzle the quickest. some users love to see stats like times to beat etc. Though i agree with you on the contemplation theme. {I wouldn't call it a time waster thohugh as contemplation is a useful tool for destressing, so definitely not a time waster, lol .... just semantics ;-)}

downloaded fine but first time got error "program may not be installed correctly" so I reinstalled, love the pictures & the music, but when I tried to play, it would crash (Win7 Ent. 32 bit), reinstalled/deleted/installed/rebooted - crashed every time, tried different puzzles w/different settings, still crashed after a couple of pieces were moved to the playing surface, uninstalled. It's a shame it doesn't work, it looked like a keeper =(

Have you read my replies to other users with the same problem? There may be fixes available? You need to access the following path then click on the executable:

C:\Games\RELEASE\JIG01.exe

Some things to consider:

1) ... Is there a program running in the background that conflicts with the program?

2) ... Do you have all essential drivers up to date (e.g. Graphics and Direct X)

3) ... Have you defragged your computer recently? (If it's badly defragmented it could be casuing the game to crash)

4) ... Have you tried running the game in a different screen resolution?

5) ... Try running in Compatibility mode (These games were created before Win 7 and Vista) and adjusting various configurations sich as disabling visual themes and running as Administrator.

6) ... Check your windows security settings

7) ... Check your other malware programs/firewalls etc.

I'm sure if any of our more technically minded community members see other solutions/problems they will post details. (hopefully)

Glad to get this game but it didn't activate? like #17: http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/glamourpuzzle/?activate Like another person I get "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Tried 3 times by re-downloading. Downloaded the demo but it is still asking me for the code. I've played past the 30 minutes so I'm assuming it activated. I run Win 7. Was able to delete the music easily enough--thank you for ALL the tips. Thank you GAOTD for another great game--lost my other puzzle when a computer crashed. Thank you for the link to get the free HOG game too!!!

...........................Moderator comment..........................

Hi Donna, are you using the executable from the folder installed as Glamour Puzzle (the demo version) or the one installed as RELEASE. If you read the 'Read me', it tells you exactly where the file is on your computer. You have to create a shortcut from that file not the glamour.exe file from the demo version. Check the following path:

C:\Games|RELEASE\JIGO1.exe

The following images illustrate where you need to be looking for the correct folders and files. (i'm not trying or meaning to be condecending, just trying to help as I'm not sure of your level of computer literacy. I hope you can see them as they are fairly small on these images. Ignore the fact that I have my games installed on the G drive. I always change the default installation path from C:\ to G:\ for my games. I use a Solid State Drive (SSD as opposed to HDD) for my operating system and direct all games and applications to differet hard drives apart from essential applications and my documents and settings. This ensures my computer remains fairly fast on boot up etc (it takes about 25 to 30 seconds from turning on to being able to access the internet or play a game {apart from my Steam games that are set to a lower priority in the start up sequence}). The only reaso it boots u s fast is because I try to keep the root drive clear of everything but essental programs, plus SSD's are much faster to access than traditional Hard Drives. I highly recommend you replacing your main HDD with a SSD, the more users buying them, the cheaper they will become.

Create a shortcut from the JIG01 executable. That should allow you to play the game as a registered game not a demo.

PicDepict.com

The above image shows you what to look for - i.e. the RELEASE folder, it's higlighted in blue (due to being selected). you can also see that i've previously installed the demo from fly games (installed as Glamour Puzle as opposed to RELEASE) to check the game out in preparation for todays giveaway

#23 To add to your recommendation (for those who don't want to "install" a jigsaw application)... another free website with a new puzzle everyday is:

Now... for those of you who are jigsaw puzzle fanatics, and money is no object... IMHO... the two best PC Jigsaw puzzles you can "buy" in the current gaming market are Gaia PC Jigsaw Puzzle 2

http://www.gaiadreamcreation.com/games/gaia-pc-jigsaw-puzzle/

and Jigsaws Galore by David Gray: http://www.dgray.com/index.html

Both are rather costly but offer tons of custom options and the graphics and texture of the individual pieces are awesome. Both offer the closest experience I've found to playing with a real jigsaw puzzle but without having to give up your dining room table.

Thanks John both games look excellent I'll have to see about trying a demo. There are some other Jigsaw ideas posted over in the game discussion forums. One for example displays your completed jigsawa in the form of an art gallery. you can walk in a First person pespective from room to room observing the various categories. The game is fully customisable as well. Unfortunately I've forgotten the name of the puzzle. I have it in my games library, ut it's so vast these days it would take me a longs time to scroll through my back ups to find what the game is called.

Having the puzzle jump and move with each piece placed, drove me nuts.
Even "locking" the paper clip did not stop the puzzle jumping and moving. With the harder difficulty, I got so tired of moving the puzzle back to center and off the remaining pieces at the edge of the screen.

Thank you for your feedback, persoonally I didn't find it a problem. If you line up on of the corner pieces with the actual image then close the slider so that the image disappears it does help to cut down the juming a little, but not completely.

So I tried it and enjoyed it
not a shootem up bang bang game but a simple time waster that takes the thought of a jigsaw puzzle ;-)

This installation was a little confusing as the setup file created both Glamour Puzzle and Release folders in the Game folder. The Glamour Puzzle folder contained the executable file, but it was the demo, 30 min version. (If I had read White Rabbits instructions closer I would have released I should have used the Release folder.) This puzzle game is ok for those who like jigsaw puzzles. I would like to see the puzzles categorized and be able to choose the category (animals, Europe, etc.) so I wouldn't have to scroll through all the puzzle choices. Also, it appears the puzzle image is not the same size as the pieces you are putting together (the image has more of the picture your are putting together than the pieces), which makes it more difficult to put the puzzle together. I would rather the image match the pieces. Definately a keeper though.

Thank you for your feedback AZGamer, I never checked the glamour ececutable, so thanks for the infor regarding the demo. I wonder whether some users have been working from the Glamour folder rather than the RELEASE folder. I agree it can be a little confusing if you don't read the read me, which does clearly state how to run the game; however, I bet the majority of community members no longer bother to check the read me unless it's obvious that the installation is different. Most regular users know that you have to open the games installed folder and create your own shortcut etc.

I like jigsaw's so I think I'll give this one a try
After reading all the comments about the music I have just one suggestion Use the mute function of your computer as far as I know every one has one (I use mine all the time )

I'm always squirreling away games so hard drive space is premium with a max of 40 GB.

I liked:
. This is nice & light @ 15MB and runs w/no hitches.
. No shortcut doesn't bother me as I like to put such things where I want, IF I want.
. The music is just fine... after a while it becomes "background noise" anyway..
. The pieces fit together nicely
. You can amp up the difficulty by choosing to allow rotation of the pieces (you just right click on a piece to do so)
. "Best time" feature so you can try speed completion for fun.

Would like:
. The ability to change the puzzle 'table top/background' colour to something other than blue - easier for scenes that contain a lot of sky.
. An option for silencing the sound effects as the snap, crackle of the joining is grating to me.

Summary: The puzzles are rather easy, but I like it. Keeping it and rating this 7/10 as you can swap out the music if you really want. Love jigsaws and can turn to this when I've no room on the floor for my actual ones. :)

Hello Dana, you can run a lot of the giveaway games from CD and DVD's because they are free standing. It may be worth saving the games to disk, then creating shortcuts directly from the discs. (Though to play them you'd have to make sure you had the disk in the drive. This would free up space on your disk drive.

it's unfortunate that Disc Drives have increased in size significantly over the last several months becasue the main manufacturer of HDD's was in Thailand. Those factories were destroyed in the floods last year. Dries increase in price significantly and still haven't dropped in price to pre flood levels; otherwise I would have suggested getting a small drive suchas a 100GB drive which are pretty cheap, for example a 80GB drive from EBay (thats new costs just over £15 ($22). Though you have to be careful with second hand ones. There are some distributors taking advantage of the situation and trying to sell refurbished hard drives as small as 10GB for $30 plus , which really is a rip off. I've thrown away HDD's smaller than 40GB. you would also need to check whether the socket the HDD uses is either an IDE or ATA socket. You can see the difference between the two by googling, but basically the ATA socket is much smaller. The IDE socket has laods of visible pins at the back end of the drive. (I'm just suggesting this as 40GB theses days is so small. (e.g. My main computer has over 7 Terabytes of space (thats over 7000 GB of space with another 2.75 being added this week (I've removed a spare 2TB and a 750GB drive from two of my older computers to add to my new one). Programs these days, especially games are bloated with hi res images and video. As an example one of my games is over 100GB in size because of the Mods and extra custom made maps i've added to it and it has the potential to be more than twice the size if i added the 400GB plus maps and mods i have for that game, (Battlefield 2, the same goes for Oblivion and Morrowind, the earlier versions of the Elder Scrolls, and another game with no mods attached is almost 20GB (ArmaII: Combined Ops)

By the by, I think my wife's going to love this one. I LOVE the pictures you've put up Wrabbit. I may add it to my library. Only other suggestion I could add would be to include a converter to make pictures one has taken, or captured from other sites, into puzzles.

There's a lot of night shots, of volcanic eruptions, I can think of that would be fun to work...

I just think its a shame Fly Games has removed the infinite version of their jigsaw puzzle and basically split it up into four different puzzles with no ability to add more images or tweak the game more (as mentioned in my main review). Basically they changed the image format to .box, wheras in the original, which thankfully I still have you could use jpg; you could add any image you wanted, though you had to change the resolution if it was over a certain size.

I really like this game! I've been playing it on and off for months.

It does has a weird quirk that happens at times: when you get a piece next to the piece it belongs to, they 'lock' together. But on rare occasions they lock together wrong: one piece will be overlapped by the other. And from then on, pieces that are joined to the piece locked wrong will lock to it also being 'out of position'. This ends up making it look like your puzzle is being put together in two separate sections, or like the puzzle has been ripped into two pieces.

If this happens, you can generally fix it by exiting the puzzle and the game completely, and then resuming the puzzle. It saves all your progress, and now the pieces are locked together properly. (Note: I've on rare occasions had to do the 'exit and resume' a couple times before it fixes the display.

Despite that flaw, it's a great puzzle game, lots of good pictures, and very soothing when you've had a hectic day.

I'm reading how the music included with this program isn't the greatest. Like what White Rabbit says, change the MP3 files to music you like. My suggestion if you want silence, TURN THE .....edited...SOUND OFF!

Now what's so hard with that?

Love puzzles. INstalled fine, don't really like the music, but turned it down so I don't have to listen. Nice pics. Good locking of the pieces. Thanks.

Consistently crashing within a minute after it displayed the puzzle pieces and I have not even started doing anything yet. I have Win7 64-bit. Tried delete directory, reboot, and reinstall - same result. A little disappointing.

......................Moderator comment................................

There may be a conflict with something you are running in the background, or you may need to update some drivers. I'd try running the game again, then check the logs to see if you can pinpoint the problem. There has been approaching six thousand downloads so far with only a few users reporting problems. Please do check the problems section of my post @ comment #1, you may find a fix there.

For me this puzzle works absolutely fine on five computers (4 desktops and a laptop) I've installed it to:

XP Pro 32 bit SP3
Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP2
Vista Home Basic 32bit SP2
Win 7 Pro 64 bit SP1
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1

How can you switched from full windows to the small one? Also to mute the music. please help

........................Moderator Comment.................

Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any way of putting tis game into windowed mode; though it may be possible by adding a registry key to the registry, but I'm not experienced enough to give you the help to attain that. Usually it's a simple change in the registy key gfrom a 1 to a zero, but you'd have to find the key. most giveaways don't register via the registry, and rarely install a full set of registry keys, meaning these games are free standing (well usually, I've not actually checked to see if this one is).

Also the only way to mute the sound is to turn the music off via your sound cotroller. If you right click on the speaker icon in the tray next to the clock you should be able to turn off just the sound to the game. Just click on Open Volume mixer', that does give you some control over the volume without affecting all programs on your computer. I think its only available in Vista and Win 7 (though I may be wrong).

This is where you need to right click (Speaker symbol next to clock) and you'll see the drop down menu (Open volume Mixer):

This is what the volume mixer looks like:

I love jigsaw puzzles. Thanks! I'll try the suggestions for changing the music. My only complaint is that they should change the name of the game folder to something like "Glamour Puzzle". I did it myself and it didn't seem to affect the game play.

This installed very easily and quickly.

I completed the first puzzle and the background music was nice and soothing.

I'm looking forward to using this as a nice time-killer while daytrading.

For those who don't want to install something like this and/or hate the music, may I suggest an online alternative? Jigzone (http://www.jigzone.com/), which has a ton of puzzles, a new one every day, you can change the cut of each puzzle to make it as easy or difficult as you want, and you can upload your own photos to create a personal puzzle page you can keep private or share with family and friends. My nieces (8 & 11) love it when I post pics of them, the family, their dogs, etc. And no music.

Downloaded and installed fine on Win7 Home Premium x64. I had to turn my speakers down to try to play though - too loud and the music was quite annoying to me, just not my taste in music.

I quite like this puzzle game. It installed fine on windows 7 and the music files can just be deleted and it still works although the sound effects are still too loud so have to remember to turn the volume down before playing.

No complaints here. Although installation threw me off, that was a first for me. The music is just fine for jigsaw puzzle doing. Ya-hoo,
Brickshooter is being put on hold.(nice break). I love Jigsaw puzzles. Past time favorite coming back. Thanks GGOTD and Fly Games
