I haven't even dloaded this yet, but my first reaction from seeing the screenshots from this game was "Super Mario Bros." It looks like a Super Mario Bros. type game... Everyone has played Mario Bros., it's pretty much a classic. But you know what? It's basically a game for kids. Yet you see adults playing it on their Nintendo DS's. So stop complaining that this game is for kids. Just think of Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, etc.

Downloaded and played the first few levels of this game. Very fun and challenging. Loved the graphics and I agree with #16 it reminds me of an early Mario (which I love). BUT...as i got further in the game the levels had lot of glitches in them. And when i skipped the the last few levels..it kept freezing. I ended up having to uninstall it. I wished it would have worked for me.

There are indeed a lot of games that are freeware everyday but good luck sorting through the junk to find good ones. Many have poor or very pixilated graphics, buggy programming, run choppy, etc. Even some games at Caiman, a site I recommend as it's all freeware and safe downloads, has games that aren't very good incuding some of the highly rated ones. The ones here are better than most, even though only free for one day and not every game will appeal to everyone every day.

So what say you Semicolon? Where are all those "MUCH better freeware games" of which you speak?

Boring, uninspired, unoriginal. A very bad game indeed. It's good for kids because they are KIDS. Children are easily amused and can be entertained by garbage for hours on end.

There's MUCH better freeware games out there than this bilge; Alawar just rips off classic games and slaps childish, ugly graphics over them and actually makes money for it. Disgusting...

These r the types of games I Luv 2 play. U can be entertained all day if u have the time.

Great to see another selection from Alawar. Like Realore's games, Alawar's are always good and they just WORK.

This is a cute game for kids, very nice cartoon graphics and sounds. Disappointed at first to see it's all keyboard controlled as mouse controlled games are generally easier for kids. But this game allows either a single player or two players at once, so keyboard controls make sense.

CTRL+ R for 'fire' is a little awkward though, some kids just don't have big enough hands to do that move quickly. But here's the really good part! If your kids are finding the default keys difficult, you can actually edit the keys that control the game in Options! Just click on "Edit Keys" and it goes to each field so you can choose the keys that control different functions of the game, and you can edit keys separately for each player whether single or two players. That's a very nice touch, quite thoughtful of the programmer.

There's been quite a few kids' games offered but certainly not all. XMas Blox, Treasure of Persia, Sky Bubbles, Mahjongg Artifacts, & Strayteg were not kids' games. Astro Fury, Pacmania 3, and Jeanne D'Pac would appeal to adults who remember playing Space Invaders and Pac Man. Robbox, Phatasia and Phantasia 2 get very challenging after the first couple of levels and would then likely be too difficult for most kids. Some previous games with adjustable difficulty levels can be enjoyed by either kids or adults, like JigSwap, Aqua Words, Aquatic of Sherwood, or Lines Deluxe.

All three of your posts are showing. If you post and come right back you won't see your post right away, but it will get there. Check to see if your system fits the requirements for the game. If so then you might try uninstalling with the uninstall.exe in the game's folder. Then redownload, reactivate, and reinstall. A lot of times this fixes any problems. When you reinstall make sure any unneeded programs that may conflict with the installation aren't running in the background. Also, if you have done a lot of work in other programs then try restarting your computer before beginning the installation.

Unzip the file downloaded from GGOTD, instructions in the brief readme.txt were to run activate.exe FIRST, then install the game.

If you already installed without activating first then completely close the game, make sure it is CLOSED and not just minimized. Then go back to the original downloaded zip file, make sure your internet connection is open, then double click on the file activate.exe Remember to look for activate.exe in the zip file you originally downloaded from GGOTD, do not look in the installed game's files as you won't find it there.

If you do this correctly, that is CLOSE the game first then run activate.exe from the original zip file ... you will then see a little gray box that says 'activation successful' ... if you don't see it, look to make sure it is not hiding behind another window. Click the "OK" on that litte gray box and then your web browser will open and take you to a page that says you have successfully activated the game. You can then reopen the installed game and find that you have the full registered version.

If you did not see that little gray box and did not get the web page telling you activation was successful then you did not activate the game.

You may have missed it when they offered Mahjongg Artifacts back in December. You can choose from 4 tile sets, 99 layouts, and choose from many very beautiful backgrounds. It also has an option to dim inaccessible tiles to make accessible ones much easier to see. Not free anymore but it's only $19.95 from Alawar and it's truly the best Mahjongg solitaire game I have ever seen.

Fun game -- Two Thumbs up -- Got to lvl 32 before I had to shut it down. My 4yo came in and started playing. After letting him play a bit I had to tell him that it's my computer that he had to stop playing. He wasn't too happy about that. oh, well... Great Find GGOTD Team!!

Why do you only distribute children's games. When will you ever distribute a real game?

This is an excellent game. For kids it's even better. The first couple of levels seems to easy, but for kids this is good. This way they can grasp how to play first and not become frustated by a game that is too hard at the beginning.

The graphis are great, the smoke coming from the Fox when running is a great touch too. It seems like a 'version' of Mario Bros. But that's a good thing as this has easy and great gameplay. I can't wait to try the higher levels.

I think the game giveaways are almost always BETTER than the regular s/w that GOTD gives away :P

Seems pretty good, this is the second game (after Styrateg) I'll download from this site, ever (yes, i wasn't on line when Phantasia2 was given :P).

Thank you for yet another game that I know my kids are going to enjoy; once the weekend arrives. There arn't many games that myself my son or my daughter haven't liked. Very colorful and entertaining :)

I am having a problem with this game - when I try to start it, it goes to the loading screen and then crashes. I hope someone can help me fix this because my kids will absolutely love it.

I really like this! I put it on my kids computer. They love stuff like this. I think the graphics are so bright and kid friendly. Thanks for another great offering.

Alawar is another great publisher (in the ranks of one of my other faves Realore) and this game has their signature all over it.

Definitely one for the kiddies and nice gradual scale in difficulty level. Not a great game for the rest of us but nice graphics and simple game play, controls very responsive (for some a bit too responsive).
Conclusion, the younger crowd will be easily attracted by it and will enjoy it for a couple of days. Us older folks will be distracted for an hour at most.

Looks good from the screenshots. I hardly play the games from here just so many. The one I did enjoy was the cube one which I installed lol. How about a game like Battlefield 2 or 2142 :P
