In Brief:
Fire Story is a casual top down action/strategy game with pixel graphics with seventeen levels to work through. This may not seem like many, but you may find it a struggle to unlock later levels. When completing a level you'll receive a message saying ''Good Job'' The first level is relatively easy to beat, but as you progress it gets harder and harder. Each victim can take a few hits before dying. If all the victims die before the timer reaches zero, you lose the level and have to start again. Progress is saved in this game (unlike others we've received recently using this game engine).

The aim of the game is to save the people from flying fire extinguishers and what look like burning knives by deflecting them from the the people before they kill them using your trusty fire axe. Every time they are hit it adds time to the level timer. The longer it runs, the less likely you are to win the level.

This is a fast and furious arcade game; using the WASD keys to move and the left mouse button to swing your fire axe. As with other game susing this game engine, you can use the Up & Down arrows then enter for the menu items. To return to a previous menu use the Esc key. Controllers are only partially supported and can be used to select menu items, but you cannot return to a previous menu once in the new menu for example going to the control menu, you cannot return to the main menu using a controller. You have to revert to using a keyboard Esc key.

You can see a video of game play HERE

It was released on Steam June 22 but has no community reviews yet. However, four Steam curators have commented on the games HERE; all four posting as informational.
Conclusion:
After the first few levels the game at least for me became almost impossible to beat. I'm just not coordinated enough or fast enough to deflect the fire extinguisher quickly or effectively enough.

What would improved this game would be to add profiles so you could try to beat each others scores, also the number of total seconds taken to beat each level or at least an accumulative score.
Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 63 antimalware engines. You can see the results of the scan HERE.

High difficulty is right..... Per the description of the page. Before reading Whiterabbit's review I decided to figure things out for myself and eventually I got the idea of this game but in the end I felt absolutely frustrated on some of the levels. I think I maybe got past 2 or 3 of them and just put the game down and left it at that. I may go back into the game later on today as time permits.

Per the last couple of games being given away in the weekdays, I am actually digging the retro style music. I wonder what game engine they are using it would be intriguing to know.

If you're ever intrigued or inspired to make your own games, There is the RPG maker series on Steam which I actually got a couple of them off Steam through a bundle I think it was from Humble or Fanatical I can't remember which.

FYI I am still currently playing the Jack Frost Solitaire game given away on Saturday as its been an entertaining Solitaire game to keep playing for countless minutes etc.

sailorbear510 aka Jason,

One of the games given away last week was reviewed by one of my Steam friends called Obey the Fist. He's a prolific reviewer often posting several reviews a day. He said the game we got was created by the Game Maker engine.

I've purchased all of the RPG Maker versions and got loads of DLC from two or three Humble Bundles. I think the earlier bundle from several years ago also included GameMaker, plus some asset packs..

A couple of the solitaire games from the developer have been on 90% off sales recently.
