Lock and load to exterminate invading insects in our thrilling new arcade shooter!
Ready… Aim… Fireflies! Evil insect forces have kidnapped your colony's queens, spelling doom for your collective unless you can protect its few remaining eggs. The embryos will eventually hatch into new queens if you can mow down the hordes of creepy-crawlies and winged menaces out to break or steal them.
Don't worry; as the heroic bug, Agent Brisk, you're outfitted with enough firepower for the job. From shotguns and bazookas to guided missiles and air strikes, you'll be able to exterminate your enemies with extreme justice. You'll need a quick trigger finger, though, to keep worms from booting the eggs off-screen and spiders from grabbing the embryos with their sticky webs!
If you accept this mission, intense action, awesome graphics and pulse-pounding audio will be your reward. Can you save the bug kingdom from disaster?

Not my cup of tea. It might be an okay game I guess, but I can't see the 20$ value and it didn't hold my interest for even 2 full levels. If you enjoy this game, perhaps also the classic Missile Command and the not quite politically correct Ganja Farmer could be worth a shot. Not sure whether the latter works on modern operating systems.

Too hard for my children to keep up with. (kids age 7 & 9) Definitely an adult game if you can stand the cutesy appeal. I liked the shooter aspect but after about 5 minutes my fingers were screaming for release.

At first glance this game appears to be designed for kids, but a few levels later it becomes significantly more appealing to the older audience. This game requires quick reflexes, time management, and a sense of humour. Anybody can enjoy this game which makes this an outstanding offering from GGOTD. Thumbs way up!

Is there a way of using a controller, joystick, gamepad instead of the mouse my "shooting finger" gets tired realy quick?

Just to add - you can also move the screen left and right by using the cursore keys which will make things a little easier.
Great range of power-ups, nice graphics and amusing sounds, it's for kids really but I quite like it and imagine I'll come back to it when I'm too stoned/drunk to play Forza.

I have had this game for along time and it is one of my favorites! The graghics are great and the progression is outrageous. Cool power ups. 2 thumbs up. Thanks for bringing some great games to the table, it almosts forgives your long vacation.

It is a break from space shoot'em ups. Ignoring the graphics & targets, it's a pretty good "shooter". I added it to my library the first time around & I use it within my "game rotation" when I remember. It is fun game in small doses for me. "Thumbs-Up"

The kids will love this and the adults will not be too bored to sit and teach them how to play. Cute graphics.
Brings back fond memories of the debut of Hogans Alley in the arcades of yore.
One downside is the lack of skill levels. under 6 might get frusterated fast unless their mouse skills are a bit advanced for their ages.

No problems with download and activation. I usually check the comment section before downloading but today none. Being the game was from Alawar, I took a chance. It's not a bad game but I got fed up with it pretty fast......It's always the same thing . Not much difference in each levels. To be fair I must admit I only went to level 2 which I did not complete. Graphics are good with brilliant colors but everything looks like plastic! First thing I noticed when I first started playing the game. Would I play it again? No but my game tester is still in bed.It is worth downloading for kids. They'll enjoy it for a while. It's definitely not worth $19.99. Maybe $10. at best . Overall a 6 out of 10

The game almost installed like a dream, with the usual activate and set up modules, although I say ‘almost’ because if you’re fussy as to where you install your programs (like I am) then ensure that you choose the custom install when the install window pops up otherwise by default it will be installed in the C: drives program files folder. (For those that are new to the site, please read the read me before you comment about not being able to activate the game as everything you need to know is written there) The previous comments may be worth re reading, but only to read poor Howser’s come back after being flamed several times for being rather rude.
As usual, I’ll reference my kids for this one. They thoroughly enjoyed this game the first time around. So if you’ve got kids you’d more than likely have some very satisfied children today :) This is another excellent rerun from Alawar.
Check out the unusual main menu. I didn’t see this the first time around. You can shoot down the insects that fly across the main menu screen by using the mouse pointer, which is in the shape of a gun sight.
The main menu gives you access to the help menu, high scores, and the options menu, which has the usual music and sound sliders, as well as a window/full screen toggle, and a hints toggle that is grayed out at the start of the game. Starting the game automatically starts the tutorial mode. This can be turned off by clicking on the ‘don’t show this again’ button. You will also find hints pop up from time to time during the first few levels of the game, such as ‘shoot the dragon fly to make it drop the power up’, although some power ups are dropped before the dragon fly disappears off the screen anyway.
You can’t see the whole of the screen at any one time. When you place your cursor to the edge of the screen the playing area will scroll to the left or right depending upon which side of the screen you’ve placed your cursor on.
This is definitely a game for the children, (IMO) with it’s cartoon style graphics, cute sound effects (even the screams of the dying insects are cute) and fairly relaxed mode of play, although towards the end of each level, things do become rather manic; but the frequent power ups such as the machine gun, freezing cubes, grenade launcher, missiles and rockets should help any budding bug exterminator to cope with that.
This game will certainly help with your child’s coordination and motor skills as well as entertain them for short periods of time. I know both my children enjoyed playing this one a lot when it was first given away. I’d say it was nearly as popular as ‘Zak & Jack in showdown at Monster Town’, although apart from saving the eggs and earning medals, it didn’t have much else in the way of incentives such as the ranking system Zack and Jack has. Still for a kids game this is great and I would give it 7 out of 10. Personally, I don’t think it quite gets there for replayability though due to the lack of incentives. Still, it’s the kids that should have the say, with respect to keeping it, with this one.
The game is fully mouse controlled as you would expect for a point and shoot game such as this. You will need some sort of 3d emulation and if you’re running older windows OS platforms then you may need to download directX 9. Check my comments yesterday for a download link.

If you do have kids then I’d download this and see what they think. As for the adults amongst us, well I can take it or leave it and would score it 6 out of 10 simply because it’s got some cute graphics.
I'm suprised not to see any comments yet, although I do appreciate that the game giveaway team must like to have break on a weekend as well. :)
Thanks alawar and the game giveaway team.

I really wanted to like this Alawar game since the graphics are kind of cool and it looked cute - BUT - it is just a simple shooter and a very boring one at that. Bugs fly or walk onto the screen from the left and right in order to try and steal eggs. There are some that carry weapons which they drop for you to use to defend the eggs. After 3 or 4 levels I had enough and my "shooting" finger was tired. Each level looked basically the same as the last one except for the position of the eggs and the number of attacking bugs. IMO this is a mind-numbingly boring game suitable for entertaining little kids for a very short time.

I've been downloading games and giveaways for a while now and I must say, this game is addictive.
Originally, I would download the games for my 3 year old son; now and then for myself. But, this game can capture the attention of any age group (at least in my opinion).
The kinds of insects/humans one has to battle in this game makes it very challenging. Beattles, worms, airbourn people, ants and other challengers are just a few obsticles in just the first 4 levels. And as far as I could see, there are many more levels. In addition, there's an array of weapons to destroy the invaders.
Miss B.
P.S.
More word games please.
