I've only recently found this site, and although not everything is for me, I quite like the fact it's all FREE. Thanks for the games; some are good, others not so much.

I don't think all the complainers are being greedy...or selfish.
They are far too ignorant to be culpable!
My bet is that they are so damned ignorant that you have to pity them and realise; they don't even understand that it isn't the way civilised people should behave.
They are products of this generation of I WANT I WANT I WANT and if I don't get, I GET ANGRY!
Bad parenting will come back to haunt us for years. Look around, it's already everywhere.
These morons don't even understand simple words like THANK YOU or maybe PLEASE.
Should we pity such morons?
I blame the parents.

By the way this game is brilliant!
THANK YOU for giving it away for free. Keep up the good work. Love this site. Wish you could get a moron filter though.

I liked this game. Although it did become a bit 'more of the same' after a few rounds. Some more options would be nice. But a thumbs up all the same!

First of all...thank you so much for this game. I wasn't able to get it last time as I wasn't aware of this site at the time. I greatly appreciate it! Secondly, this game is pretty darn cool. It's actually more difficult that it appears. I think I was able to make it to the 3rd or 4th level before giving up for the night. It downloaded, installed and ran beautifully on my Vista computer. No issues what so ever. Anyway, thanks again and it's so nice to have you back! Blessings!!

This game stunk last time, and it still kinda stinks... "my farm" was better, then "my exotic farm" I'd like a farm sim better than them all...

I, for one, appreciate the opportunity to download games and programs I may have missed in the past. (Selfish me! How dare I benefit from someone else not being able to download a new game today!)

To all the folks at Game Giveaway of the Day.....Thank you!

I got Funky Farm in the past. My 5 yo grandson and I played it off and on for a few weeks, then moved on.

It is a fun distraction for free.

I have to ask where publishers get thier price from, though. This is not worth $20, IMHO. More like; if I got a CD with this and a handful of other, similar games for $10, I would consider that a good value. But, not $20 for this one.

I wonder if anyone realizes how difficult it is to find a publisher that is willing to GIVE their software away for free...AND to find a place willing to search out and FIND new software to give away EVERY DAY...and harder yet...to find a NEW GAME every single day...jeez peeps...human greediness sometimes amazes me.

Downloaded it last time and deleted it. Good game but one I could live without. Welcome back and keep the games coming.Newer recruits would not have seen some of the reruns. Seeing I'm relatively new to the site there will no doubt be some reruns I haven't see too.

Cheers

Ahem.

There truly is nothing more pointless than posting a comment COMMENTING on the fact that other people post "negative" comments, whatever those may be. The comment section doesn't exist so people like Iva can waste everyone's time with their unimportant "opinions" about how and what other users should say about the games that are offered on this website. Seriously, just save it.

As for the game, it was already offered and I enjoyed it several months ago. As easily as you people can say "this is for newbies" I can also say, I have been visiting this site for a long time and don't really see much of a reason for repeats when they are not spread out across a long enough period. Funky Farm was given away only a couple months ago. If GGOTD truly cared about giving away the BEST titles, they'd have rereleased Jets N' Guns for today instead of Funky Farm. There are plenty of bad giveaways on this site, but the truly great ones don't seem to get repeated. I recommend this for newbs only.

I agree with #40: It's great to have re-runs of programs, especially considering that they aren't really re-runs, but newer versions. Newer versions usually have less bugs and work better. I like the re-runs. Keep up the good work, GGTD.

Why do you people keep complaining about what Game Giveaway is doing for FREE? If you had paid a subscription price, then perhaps. Since you haven't invested anything into their operations, why complain? I am thankful that there is a website that allows us to download commerical software for FREE. If you don't like their choices of software to be given away and/or re-runs, good luck on your search to find an alternative for FREE commercial software. I'm pretty sure NO other site like this exists.

Funky Farm is a favourite of both my 4-year old daughter, who can manage the simple objectives and controls; and myself for mindless entertainment when I need to wind down at the end of the day. We really like it and I'm thankful for the repeat, now I can put it on my daughter's computer instead of her using mine all the time!

I do wish it was compatible with Vista, and see that as a downfall of the game.

Also as far as higher levels go: when you lose a level, you immediately restart the level right where you are, without losing any animals or cash. So in a couple of tries you can pass literally any level no matter how high. It essentially just extends your time to lose and start again. Now for some of us this is not a bad thing! But it is a glitch, IMO.

Anyway I absolutely recommend this one for at least a try. It is beautiful and original and is developed with a great sense of humour. We've enjoyed it a great deal!

My first post has vanished so sending again; this game is indeed a repeat from June 22nd which admittedly was not all that long ago however older games may not allowed to be repeated due to developers' restrictions.

Funky Farm is a gorgeous game with wonderful humour, the review I wrote the first time is still applicable so for those who are new to the site, here it is again

From even before you install the game you get a sense of the joy that is to come as the entire “Terms and Conditions” you have to agree to before installation will complete are

“I promise I will spend a little less time working every day and a little more time playing games and listening to music.”

Upon albeit reluctantly agreeing to these terms, the game installed perfectly and opens with a gorgeous picture of a barn, painted in acrylic type paint. Every so often, evil-looking yellow eyes flash from within the dark depths of the barn, adding a sense of uncertainty and fear to the otherwise sunny picture with its Monty Python style font title and pleasant music that indeed cannot be turned off (although #12 you could just turn off your speakers). The screen cannot be minimised either which is a shame as in a long game you may need to use the computer for something else which is not possible without exiting, although the game does save for your return. There is no “windowed” mode, it is full screen only.

When first playing the game you are encouraged to play using the tutorial which is vital if you want to know what is going on. The tutorial is great and very encouraging, it shows you what to do and when you do it gives very positive messages of recognition before moving on to the next point.

The game is all about managing a farm; buying livestock and their supplies costs money and shearing the livestock, slaughtering them and rounding them up makes money. This is an excellent way of promoting simple business skills to children without them realising they are being educated!

You can buy pigs, sheep (complete with halos(!)), a dog, grass to nourish the sheep, swill for the pigs and fences. The animals need to be fed regularly, so responsibility is also taught, the pigs turning green and thin when hungry, the sheep not growing more wool without food. Additionally you have shears that will make you money from sold wool and (gulp) an axe to slaughter pigs and sheep that will provide income from their meat. Being a vegetarian, I found it very hard to slaughter even cartoon animals, particularly when on mouse-over of each animal you are given their names - killing Helen, Barbara, Miles and Julie is not an easy or pleasant task (!) yet I was not able to earn enough to progress onto futher levels from selling wool alone so butchering is a necessary part of the game. It stands to teach children about from where their roast dinners come but also perhaps stands parents in the “nut cutlet” aisle of the local supermarket after the game has been played……

Wolves are the danger in the game, their foreboding presence indicated by darting yellow eyes in the woodland that surrounds play. The wolves are kept away by your Old English Sheepdog who goes anywhere you put his bone. If careful attention is not kept, before you know it Brandon will be utilising his halo in Sheep Heaven, although at first the sinisterness seems to somewhat lessen when wolves are called Justin and Andy!

The game is joyful to play, attention to detail has been carefully planned; watch the way the pigs flock to the swill each time you buy a new bucket and the way they turn pink and plump upon eating, even the stars that appear next to each menu item on mouse-over at the start of the game fits in with the style and the noises the animals makes are realistic.

Possibly not a game that most adults will play regularly, if you are comfortable with your children slaughtering albeit cartoon animals (with names) without it adversely affecting them then this will teach them a lot about the basics of life, namely working for profit, managing a business and the meat industry. These serious concepts are dressed up in gorgeous graphics with upbeat tune and a game that oozes fun and tongue in cheek, fabulous humour and this game is therefore an absolute must to experience.

Also want to remind the complainers i am sure some of you have invited others to come here after this and many other games were offered and isn't it nice they are able to get some of the games you have and if you haven't invited anyone how is the site suppose to get bigger and better cause if they owners here are able to say we have such and such number of members it would look more impressive to the software and game companies to want to feature their game and software to increase the possibility of increased sales at the store and such. Which in turn increase the different styles and types of games we get offered here. Plus it is free and where can you get something free in this day and age?

Sad offering...Much better freeware games out there. Gamehippo.com has 100's better than this without having to have the blasted game 'activated' with the secret encoding to enable it. It gets old having to do that for games that they should have to pay you to play.

Glad to see you are giving away some games you previously gave. So many things happen we sometimes lose games we want to keep. Hopefully you will give away Butterfly Escape and Strikeball 2 Deluxe. I loved these games and lost them along with all my others I had been able to get from your site. Now I am down to nothing again until I can download from your site. I really appreciate everything you give away even if it is something that really isn't for me. Your site is awesome and I am so glad you are back with daily game give aways. Thanks again.

Hey all!!!

Just sitting here reading people's comments, and I was struck by how greedy people are. You want NEW games????... go BUY them. If you paid for this game, I'd understand you feel you can complan about repeats... otherwise, be thankful that some people are using their spare time and energy sharing games that would normally cost money!!!!

Keep up the good work!!! SOME people appreciate it!!!!
