The Game:
Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is the thirteenth game to be released in the Time Management Farm Frenzy franchise, though technically it may be also called Farm Frenzy 5 because many of the previous titles were considered expansions for example Farm Frenzy 3, Farm Frenzy 3: American Pie, Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age, Farm Frenzy 3: Russian Roulette etc. The last in the series is called Farm Frenzy: Heave Ho. You can get several of the Farm Frenzy franchise free from MyPlayCity and other free game sites (see below for links to all the free ones). It's one of the only time management game franchises that I actually enjoy, having first played it when I was a beta tester for Alawar and ended up beta testing the first three games. I did find later games a little tedious as they all follow the same formulae, with mainly re skinning and different music added. That said, all of the Farm Frenzy games are very playable. I'd not played any Farm Frenzy games since the last Farm Frenzy giveaway last year (25th Dec 2016). And really enjoyed the couple of hours I played this game last week when I discovered it was being given away here. I purchased it via Steam HERE when it was released on Steam a couple of years ago. We've previously been given Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age (Christmas Day 2016), Farm Frenzy 3 (28th March 2015), Farm Frenzy 3: American Pie (18th July 2015), and Frenzy 2 24th Aug 2014). The following two reviews are a positive and slightly negative look at todays giveaway.

⦁ Bright and colorful visuals
⦁ Simple point-and-click gameplay
⦁ Awards for kicking Farm Frenzy butt!
⦁ Hilarious stickers to collect!
⦁ Learn-as-you-play tutorial

Review 1:
Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is another solid entry in the critically acclaimed Farm Frenzy franchise. The game’s trademark addicting gameplay is as good as ever. Fans of the previous installments will feel right at home—and have a hard time turning it off—while newcomers to the franchise will likely be convinced to stick around.
Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season begins with you overlooking a massive landscape of destroyed farmland. You are immediately approached by a woman named Scarlett—who, in her own words, runs the “Farm Association of The World.” She tasks you with rebuilding the beleaguered farmland with the aid of several of your farm animal friends.
20171114172358_1

20171114172431_1
The storyline of Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is by no means the game’s focal point. Rather, the brief story elements between levels help to illuminate various gameplay mechanics and guide you along as you move from level to level. The game’s characters handle this job well, allowing you to seamlessly learn new facets of the game without taking you out of the experience.
The story plays a minimal role, but does what it needs to: teach you about the game while keeping you immersed in the world.
The graphics in Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season are exactly what you want out of a casual time management game. The bright, colorful artwork is beautiful, and the game’s bouncy cartoon style sets the less-than serious mood wonderfully. Hurricane Season’s animations make the game come to life. I often found myself distracted by the interesting movements of the animals and farm equipment.
All of Hurricane Season’s components fit together effortlessly. You never get the impression that any of them are out of place. The game’s visual cues do an excellent job of letting you know when an aspect of the game needs your attention. Eggs about to spoil will blink rapidly, ambushing bears are preempted by a swelling shadow, and your delivery truck will bounce and puff when it’s ready to go.
The Farm Frenzy series is already known for its wildly addictive gameplay—this addition to the franchise is no different. Fans of the previous installments will feel right at home with the fast-paced clicking spree that you engage in straight out of the gate. You will find yourself frantically scanning the landscape for thieving predators while maintaining your farm and upgrading your equipment—and quickly accepting the next mission as you crave more.
For those who haven’t played any of the series, Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is one of the more recent releases and is a time-management strategy game that hands you the reins of a small ranch. You are required to gather eggs from the chickens you keep, and use them to produce dozens of products, which you sell—using the profits to upgrade your farm. The game uses these mechanics to create various objectives; produce a certain number of products, or bank a specific amount of cash.

Hurricane Season challenges you with a timing benchmark in the far right corner of the screen. Although you are allowed to complete the levels at any pace you like, I found myself clicking away as fast as I could, trying to finish the missions in record time.
As mentioned before, the gameplay is wildly addictive. After the game’s initial warm-up levels, the fast-paced style is hard to walk away from. The levels go by quickly, and it’s easy to convince yourself to play just one more.
Boredom is not in the cards. There is more than enough going on at any one time to keep your attention, and I found myself forgetting to breathe at times amidst all the frantic clicking. The game gives you a rush that you want to experience over and over again.
Like its predecessors, the sound effects in Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season are excellent. Egg powder machines swish and swash as they churn eggs into power, your water well bellows a resounding glug after each refill, and the oncoming bears sound convincingly menacing as they storm toward your flock. All of this adds to the feeling that you are part of a living, breathing environment that you want to become immersed inside.
The game falls short in the music department. While time-management games are not known for their brilliant musical scores, Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season could have done well with a little more variety. You will spend most of your time listening to a single, short, country-style musical loop on repeat. It does a good job of setting the cheery mood while not becoming intrusive or distracting. However, it is hard to not feel like you are going insane after an hour of hearing the same thing over and over—and continuing to hear it in your head after you shut the game off.
However, you shouldn’t be too bothered by the music either way, the gameplay will steal the lion’s share of your attention the majority of the time.

20171114173511_1
Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is another excellent addition to the already strong Farm Frenzy series. The game promises to keep long-time fans happy, and is sure to help attract new followers to the franchise. Hurricane Season provides a slick package. The gameplay is a homerun, the graphics are beautiful, and the storyline helps to keep the whole thing moving. The less-than polished aspects of the game were unlikely to grab too much of the limelight, even if they were executed well.

Review 2:
After Melesta was removed from the production of the classic Farm Frenzy series, things seemed to be going downhill. We can all agree that Farm Frenzy 4 was a total mess, and so we did not expect much from this new installment. Luckily, the developer has now been switched again to Alawar Stargaze – and the standard of Farm Frenzy seems to be returning to normal, if not, acceptably close.
First off, there is nothing special about the storyline in Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season, which is not very unusual for a Time Management game. As for the gameplay, in some ways, Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is different from its predecessors. The main mechanics of the game remain the same; you plant grass, feed your animals, process products and sell them to the market. The bears and other intruders are also there for you to capture and sell them off; of course, before they eat your animals and destroy your farm.
Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season does not offer difficulty selection; thus, you have to carefully plan your strategy and manage your time well. However, it is not the end of the world if you run out of the time required to meet the Gold or Silver medal – the level can still be continued.
20171114173712_1

20171114173750_1
In this sequel, earning the Gold medal will not only award you with extra money to spend in the shop, but also a very special token. This token can be used in the Slot Machine, which is the main new feature included in this installment. If you are lucky, the slot machine will award you with a range of pretty cool bonuses – many of them are very helpful throughout the levels. We think that this is a very neat idea and it definitely motivates us to win that gold medal.
On the other hand, one change in the game has really annoyed us; the animal inventory bar. In this game, the animal inventory bar at the top is folded up. Therefore, each time you want to buy a new animal, you need to click on the icon for it to unfold – this extra step feels like a big waste of time in an environment where time is scarce.
Moreover, the level of challenge in Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is satisfying. Although there might not be anything particularly new about the gameplay, each level is professionally designed in a way that random-clicking will not allow you the gold or silver medal.
On the presentation, the visuals of Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season is million times better than the those in Farm Frenzy 4. The graphics are bright and colorful, with a little bit of pleasant 3D elements. In our opinion, we think that they are still no match for the graphics in the Melesta-era Farm Frenzy games – but they are not awful either. The soundtracks are fine, we did not find the animal sounds too distracting.

Other Reviews and Videos of Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season:
You can see Big Fish community reviews of Farm Frenzy Hurricane Season HERE and more information in the Big Fish forums HERE and HERE plus more community reviews HERE. you can also see Steam community feedback HERE. You can see a slideshow of around 40 in game images HERE and there are several in-game videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. The last video is from a game trainer. In the comments it tells you where you can find a trainer. You can get a couple of trainers for Hurricane Season from GameCopy World HERE. I have used the site for over a decade to download patches, mods, maps and other extra content for various games I've played as far back as 2005. The site is not suitable for children or young teenagers because there are some inappropriate adverts; for example, scantily clad women and erotic CosPlay adverts, but these are not in your face adverts. I've never had an issue downloading from this site, but I've only evey used the download links and not clicked on any of the adverts, so cannot say whether any of those are safe or unsafe. To be on the safe side download using your VM (virtual machine) if you use one for example VMWare Player, Oracle VM Virtual box, Windows Virtual PC, VMWare fusion, Virtual Box, (some are free others require license). .
Conclusion:
I've always enjoyed playing these Farm Frenzy games even though I profess to not liking Time Management games. Apart from a few other TM games, they are the only TM games I seem to like. This one is no exception. The game play is reasonably paced, with varying levels of skill catered for. There's lots of replayability, especially if you want to gain all gold stars . The graphic is great for all the family, even the young ones, tohugh they will probably require adult supervision in case the attacking animals such as the bears and foxes scare them. I do think Alawar stretched the series to its limits with 14 games in the franchise, the last one being released in 2015; basically milking it for all it was worth IMO. I beta tested the first three and loved them, but did find later ones were becoming a little stale, but that was when I was playing the franchise regularily. After a break of over 10 months (I played the last Farm Frenzy giveaway 'Ice Age') I have throughly enjoyed the few hours I've put into Hurricane Season. I previously purchased it via Steam when it was released on Steam 1st April 2015 and highly recommend it to anyone who loves TM games and even to those who don't as it's not like your typical TM games like those shop types (Burger Kingdom, Amelia's Cafe 1-4, Cake Shop 1-3, Coffee Rush 1-4,) and builder types (Weather Lord and Rescue Team franchises) that I really abhor (perhaps that's too strong a word, lol). I'd give this game a good 8.75 out of 10 for game play. The only reason I don't give it full marks is because of the previous 12 titles, all of which are similar in structure and game play.
Suggestions:
After you've had an opportunity to play today's giveaway please take a few moments to give some positive or negative feedback; for example, what you liked or disliked about the game, or how it could be improved. If you don't like the genre at all, please explain why and if any, what improvements would change your mind? If you don't have time to post a comment today, please do so at your convenience, thank you. If you wish to post a review or comment about the game at a later date, you can access the comments section by going to the game giveaways home page, then scroll to the bottom of the page where it says Archives and select the date the giveaway was live (giveaway days are in bold type). This will open up the appropriate page for you to post your comment or review. Alternatively, you can google the name of the game and include Gamegiveawayoftheday in the search. This should give you a list of links to whenever this game was given away.
There are thousands of subscribers to the game giveaway of the day every weekend which makes this an ideal forum for giving developers new or fresh ideas as to what their consumers (i.e you) would like to see in a game. For example, you could suggest extra content such as better or more original mini games, or a level editor that you would like to see that would make it more appealing to you. Maybe you think the graphics are a little dated and are in need of re skinning, or maybe you've just had enough of the genre and want to see something different or something with more originality? Giving such feedback instead of saying nothing or just saying this game is rubbish or good may bring more developers to the site, which could mean more and better games. Would 'you' give away thousands of copies of a game (or extra content for a game) away to a community that complains all the time instead of giving useful feedback? It only needs a few moments of your time.

This site could be transformed if only the community would be more forthcoming in their opinions of the games they are getting for free instead of complaining about the way this site has changed, for example, they don't like MPC games, they hate HOG's, have had enough of Match Three and Time Management games, or they want to see the latest version of Call of Duty or some other big name AAA game given away or that they don't like Steam games. If something isn't for you then please move on to the next giveaway, or check out the forums HERE, HERE and HERE, where a few members of the community post details of various free games and free game sites as well as links to various indie bundle sites etc; you never know, you may find something that really interests you.
If you miss today's game giveaway you can always get the game via MyPlayCity 24/7 HERE; or If you prefer to purchase the game you can get it HERE via Big Fish Games or HERE via Steam. You can also get the complete collection of Farm Frenzy games via Steam HERE. The Farm Frenzy bundle includes 14 Farm Frenzy titles plus six other farming titles (Terrafarmers, My Farm Life 1 & 2, Tropical Farm, Virtual Farm 1 & 2 and usually costs £28.76/$37.96, though it's on sale at the moment for £15.08/$20.06 (48% off). You can also get thirteen of the titles free mainly via MyPlayCity plus one from TooMkyGames. The only one I cannot find for free, at least from safe sites is the last one 'Heave Ho'. The following are links to each of the free version in order of release. Farm Frenzy, Farm Frenzy 2, Farm Frenzy: Pizza Party, Farm Frenzy 3, Farm Frenzy 3: American Pie, Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age, Farm Frenzy 3: Russian Roulette, Farm Frenzy: Gone Fishing, Farm Frenzy 3: Madagascar, Farm Frenzy: Ancient Rome, Farm Frenzy: Viking Heroes, Farm Frenzy 4 and Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season.
Problems getting the game to work:
If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted (also check the links I've provided to the Big Fish forums and Steam community reviews above in the other reviews and video section above); for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank MyPlayCity for giving away Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games.
Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
If Farm Frenzy: Hurricane Season doesn't interest you, but you still hanker for something new to play, you'll find details of some game deals whether they be sale items, indie bundles or games being given away for free HERE (I've not updated the thread in a while, but most of the links still take you to the latest deals).
The rest of the information that used to be posted in the game review can be found in the forums HERE. Finally, check out Delenns threads for details of other free games and offers HERE and eslewhere in the game discussion forums HERE, (usually on the first page of the game discussion forums).
The latest Origin giveaway is Plants vs. Zombies Game of the Year Edition. which you can find HERE. If you love Tower Defense, or arcade games in general, this is a fabulous game. It's not like your typical TD game. It's easy to pick up, but hard to stop playing. A fantastic and well balanced arcade game, with brilliant game play and in my opinion one of the best of its kind. You can see a couple of game play videos HERE and HERE.

Not a super TM fan but this one is nice looking. First level ok, (couldn't replay it unless I guess reinstall) but could second level. Thing about 2nd one is to catch those 3 weasels you have to bang the cage element (click the critter) like 8 times or so. I hit like 6 times and wasn't matching the 3 requirement thing. Frustrating. Replayed and discovered how many clicks needed, way unusual for genre. Then the chicken appeared to help match the 2 needed to finish.
Hope there's not too many such things ahead. Anyway thanks GOTD for keeper so far.

The Farm Frenzy games are the only time management games I really like, this one is like the first games, fun to play, nice graphics.
it starts very easy and later on it gets harder to get the 'golden' result. Harder but not impossible, which make playing a nice challenge.
The only thing I don't like is he fold-away animal bar. It costs precious seconds ;-)

Thanks for this nice game

Thanks for the feedback Irene. Sane here re: TM games. This is about the only series I've ever enjoyed.
