Today's giveaway aims to capture the spirit of a game that is known as Snooker in many European countries. It greatly varies from the style North America plays called "Pool" To be honest I've never played Snooker I was always a Pool player in sports bars. And there was that crazy rule where you hit a ball off the table you paid a quarter into the bucket. As the bucket grew, if you were witnessed to sink the 8 ball in on the first break you won all the quarters in the bucket.
Anyhow the graphics of this game is pretty basic. I know the Falco Engine is pretty powerful for indie developers but this one just does not say enough or do enough for what it tries to represent.
Controls are a big issue, well there is no real control. If you have played video game adaptations of Snooker or Pool you will notice that you have a cue stick on the screen and you can rotate the angle of the screen and the cue. in this one you just use the WSAD keys for the heck of it and see some amusing things happen on the screen and that's about it. *IF* the developer had a more detailed manual on how to master those controls it will help. And mouse control and a visible cue stick is needed badly here.
Maybe kids might find this amusing to just press those 4 keys to see whatever happens to the balls on the screen but adults looking to play a better game there are so many good games out there.
3D Ultra Cool Pool and Maximum Pool, all great games, Virtual Pool and Jimmy White's Snooker are decent games as well. For now there is a free to play pool game on the Steam Store called Pool Nation FX it is enjoyable too.
Until then, this game is a silly attempt at recreating a well known pub / bar game that needs some work to be more playable and enjoyable.
