Extreme Drift

The Game

Extreme Drift was created using the Unity Engine, so don't expect Need for Speed, Dirt, WRC World Rally Championships or Cars 2 graphic quality; however, the graphics are okay. The game starts with a configuration screen that enables you to change the screen resolution and play in either full screen or windowed mode. There are five tracks to play on, but you have to unlock tracks 2 to 4. The game starts with a vehicle selection screen with 12 cars to choose from; however, to be able to use most of the vehicles you have to earn cash through racing. Prices range from 3000 to 23000 credits.

Once you've selected your vehicle there are a couple of basic customisation features, i.e. changing the colour of the wheels and/or the smoke to the tyres. There are only eight colours to choose from, White, Yellow, Red, Black, Purple, Orange, Scarlett and Blue.

Gameplay -wise, check out the video link below. My own experience was pretty dire, but I didn't spend enough time getting used to the games controls. Once you get used to the controls it may be fun? Changing the smoke colours adds some pretty effects, but takes away from the realism. You can play the game with either the keyboard or a controller. Pity there's no driving wheel control.

The latest game from Epic, called 'The Fall' is an acclaimed award winning game with engaging puzzles and tense action. You are ARID, the AI onboard a mark-7 combat suit. The human pilot encased within the suit is unconscious. You must find a way to follow protocol and save his life. Won 2014 Game of the Year for best story. Next Thursday 25th March we will be getting Creature in the Well a top-down (isometric), pinball-inspired, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler.

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 60 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcowares home page after the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free.
