A puzzle game that takes you into a world of surreal and creepy images.

You are Nick Naster, the most talented and well-trained Special Agent of the Interplanetary. You are chosen to stop a massive alien invasion and viral plague in your home system Zeta 2. Intelligence reports indicate that the alien virus has spread across the planet, infecting and transforming human troops into hostile mutants. Exposure to the planet's atmosphere will result in immediate infection and reinforcements are not possible. You are provided with the last drops of an experimental antidote that has been completed only minutes before the destruction of the Zeta 2 bio lab headquarters. All data and antidote reserves were lost.

Your mission:

  • Find your way trough six Cities;
  • Recover remaining data units and unfinished probes of antidote;
  • Neutralize any opposing alien treat;
  • Destroy six gigantic class-3 symbiotic organisms, halfhuman, half-machine, that are the carriers of plague and alien technology necessary for invasion completion;
  • Prevent a global eXtinction of all known worlds.

You have been provided state of the art technology. With your afterburner installed in your backpack, you can deploy nine powerful weapons: uzi, shotgun, chaingun, lasergun, plasma gun, bio gun, missile launcher, magma cannon and photon thrower. You are your planet's only hope.

This game was by far the best dl since I've started visiting this site. I would say that it is well worth the $10 that the company is charging. What I would have liked, is if the company would have allowed some sort of compatibility with controllers and game pad. I have not found a way to allow mine to work with this game.

Graphics are good
Action packed game
May be difficult if you don't have a mouse (or you're not acquainted with the touch pad)
Lots of blood

10 out of 10

I enjoyed the first half of the stage, then my eyes & fingers started to get numb, due to the repetitiveness of every single level.

Well I think this is a great game! It would be far more fun in 3D action though. Had taken 3½ hours on my 256kbps DSL connection. Which is only 6 times faster than dialup. I live in the middle of nowhere and I am lucky to have DSL at all. And yes, serious gamers mostly use game controllers. It would have been nice if this game did too.

Merril (#33)? It isn't the music that is so big! There are two movie files that add up to about 70MB. The music is much smaller. The most of it is the data for the game itself. And no, a half of a GB isn't too big. As most great games are this size or larger. And 320GB hard drives are cheap, and I would never fill it up. So size isn't a problem.

Yes jcka (#128)… It runs slow on my HP desktop too!

HP AMD Athlon 1.2 GHZ
512MB of RAM
Windows XP Home SP2
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400 (64MB installed)

According to the documentation, toggling the vertical sync or whatever they call it is supposed to help that under Video Settings under the game. But my HP, that option is grayed out. And I can't click on the new game option as the pointer only updates like every 5 seconds or so. While it runs fine under my Gateway laptop.

Gateway Celeron M 370 (1.5GHZ)
MX6124 (laptop) w/512MB
Windows XP Home SP2
Intel® 910GML (64MB shared)

I had to "download" this game seven times, because your @#!$ servers were so slow and inefficient that the files were corrupt. I finally got a good copy with 17 minutes left in the giveaway time frame. I activated the "exe" file, and it finished with 3 minutes to go... then I ran "setup" and it finished three minutes past the allowed time and the window popped up saying that the game was no longer available! I give the game 8 and this site which used to be great no deserves a minus score!!!

Would have liked to have tried this one out, but my attempt to beat the clock and download this finished approximately 2.5 mins after the 24hour time limit! It seems it was faulty somehow too - the darn file wouldn't even open, never mind install. Oh well, it's consigned to the bin now after all that. Still I'm sure there'll be something else I can try sometime soon. Thanks anyway though, and kudos to you for supplying a good run of much less childish and kiddie friendly games recently!

I know the file is 416MB but it is definetly WORTH the download. Please download and activate before it expires. Yes, its a shock that this game is only $9.99. I gurantee that you will love this game, even if you play it at the easiest difficulty level.
By the way, its an RPG.

This game started out well. The engine is nice and smooth, as are the controls. The music and art, while generic, are also nice.

I can't stand the gameplay though. Action seems to boil down to just plowing enemies while they plow you, with pretty much know strategy or skill involved in the gameplay. Level design is incredibly bland and is just a bunch of platforms placed above and below each other. Enemy design is also just as bland and random. All the key huntin' doesn't help.

So, a nice engine and art direction, great controls (I enjoyed flying around and aiming with the mouse), but the game design is ultimately had a slopped together feel to it, and feels very amateurish. Not a keeper, in my opinion.

Very good job, GAOTD :D

Downloaded and *installed* very well. Unlike TankCommander recently this game featured a simple and clean Winrar SFX and custom installer which did not abused the C:\ drive without to ask but installed directly to the drive i wanted it to.

Installation: 9.5/10

Just another point GAOTD team: please don't drop any further comments which are *not* spam related. Else it would look much too suspicously like comment censorship.

Hello,

I don't know how people with high speed connections get it faster than the 200 Kb/sec that my computer downloaded it. My connection is way faster than that 4Gb/sec, so it must be the server that is setting the speed limit, not mt connection speed.

Then again, I never got or used those download accelerators that are out there because I don't trust them. I downloaded it maybe 10 mins after it came out. I don't know if that is good or bad. I mean, are there a lot of people waiting for the games to come up and download it?

It looks that way because the main download site was full and I had to use the mirror link. I set the install and went to bed. I installed/activate it this morning without a problem other than the fact that it says that music was not available.

Fubar on comment #27 said the same thing happened to him. I don't really care, I usually turn the music off in games because they tend to destroy the suspension of disbelief. I thought that it was my computer's fault, but i tried half a dozen games, from Alien shooter to Half Life 2 and the music worked fine on them. I am curious though, did you find what was wrong?

I read people's comments about their hardware being inadequate for this type of offering, some even in a complaining tone. I don't think that having only small games here would be fare to those who are keeping up with tech advances. My HW is 1 year behind and I have no problems.

I am a gamer. I started with pong, synclair, Wolf, doom, ... I HAVE to keep up with tech to feed my habit. I make very little money (I'm on Soc. Sec.), but I pay $40 a month for cable broadband. I don't even get cable TV.

I helped Valve with the Steam translation so they gave me a few games for free, I save $10 a month to buy a game if I really really want it. If not, I play the ones I have until the prices go down which they always do. Hardware is cheap if you upgrade a bit at a time.

I know my priorities.

#73 wrote "For those of you with Dialup just go and get a free download accelerator.... It might take 1-2 hours...." Try 26 hours with an accelerator with 8 connections! The only other option to a 44Kbps dial-up speed out here in the boondocks is satellite internet. But, the two available providers limit your downloads and then put your account at a penalty speed for the rest of the month if you exceed the limit.

Not that I'm complaining about the dowload size - I don't want to fill up my external HD with this game, but I'm sure others will enjoy it immensely.

For those of you with Dialup just go and get a free download accelerator, if you get one that partitions the download you should have no problem getting this game. It might take 1-2 hours, but theres always a price you pay in life, is there not?

LOL, Care to tell me where this magic accelerator is located?

but theres always a price you pay in life, is there not?

A quality game. Equal parts metroid (the map exploration) and duke nukem (the violence). Not for everyone, and a large download, but if you're not on dial-up and you don't mind blood (which can be turned off in the options, but let's face it, it's still a violent game) it's certainly worth a download.

Thanks, GOTD, and good work, Merscom!

Geez, I'm glad you guys have dial up and just because I said I was disappointed because I have 56k and can't get the game, doesn't mean I'm complaining about anything. I shouldn't have to explain a thing but they just don't have anything other than dialup in my area.

I only wish that GOTD would work out something to make the activation available for an extended time for 56kr's, it's probably not that hard to do. It's a simple and reasonable request. Is that ok with everyone??

Controls are very responsive and love the violence level in that game too. Im tired of kiddie games. Reminds me a lot of Contra.

The problem with the server persisted for 5hrs and still doing so. It should have ended since then. Other downloads were all fine. It's just that game's that's taking so much time. Please do something about the server. Wish i were not in that little island where the telecom services exploit us consumers by giving us their so-called broadband which really resembles my old dialup.

Very nice game, I'm downloading it now.
I'm using Internet Download Manager. Less than 20min download.

If you have a dial up connection, if your a student you can go to school if you can and download, then use a usb drive or a CDRW or something.

Or a library close by, it should have usb and burners.

That's what I did before while I was still at school.

I have downloaded this game twice. I'm not on dial up, I have broadband, but the download speed ranges from 8 to 20 Kb/sec... far slower than my system capability!

The downloads took 4 hours and 3 hours... and both times the files were corrupted and would not install. GGOTD needs to break these large files into pieces for two reasons... 1) so that even those on dial-up can enjoy them, and 2) so that their inadequate servers can keep up with the demand.
