With havin so much content do yyou ever run into any issues of plagorism or
copyright infringement? My website has a lot of completely unique content I've either written myself or outsourced but it
appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement.Do yoou know any ways to help stop
contentt from being stolen? I'd definitely appreciate it.

It's not possible to stop such copying. Though if you use images and/or video, you can add watermarks to these to show that they are yours. I'd even go as far as to hide data withing images (called Steganography) because watermarks on images can sometimes easily be removed using cloning tools, whereas video watermarks are almost impossible to erase.

I can certainly see a use for such software, and passed on the link to some people who could probably use it; though for the typical gamer it hardly falls in their category. But I must take exception to those who denigrate a program simply because they have no use for it; that's like saying a dump truck is worthless because you personally do not need one. Developers spend time on their products and generously make them available here for us to freely try, at least we can be appreciative and judge each program on its own merits.

Jedem GOTD download ist ein readme.txt beigefügt.
Es hilft ungemein diesen text zu lesen und zu befolgen.
Niemand muss hier etwas erwerben - es sind alles "giveaways".

Thanks Graylox. Here's a rough translation for non Germanic speakers:

Each GOTD download a readme.txt is attached.
It helps immensely this text to read and follow.
No one has to buy something here - they are all "give aways " .

@comment #4 I happen to know that the GOTD and GGOTD are very popular in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany whom obviously are native Dutch or German or even French speaking. I have seen over time Russian, Chinese, Greek, Malasian, Indonesian and Saudi commenters on here. I think that at least 30% if not more are not native English speaing visitors on here. Why you don't see them commenting that much? because they are not native English speakers. Since I have no troubles expressing myself in English (writing might need some work though) I pass on this edugame. Than you GGOTD though for offering something that is not only fun but educational as well.

Seems that alot of countries have nonnative speakers due all the wars and people running away to be safe..In US, we have asians who came from wars in southeast asia, muslins from wars in mideast, lots Spanish speakers from central and South America..and worst the dudes that come from Great Britain that need to learn true English..AND we dudes who can't spell..

I'll pass on this one as I am already quiet fluent in English (I am from Switzerland). Looking forward for the game tomorrow.

Hope you could catch up some sleep.

While I will pass on today's game because I don't think it would be much use or fun for me, I thank you for it. I also passed it along to a teacher friend of mine - hopefully she will find use for it for her ESOL students. :)

Thanks again! The giveaways are appreciated.

I appreciate that you can only offer the games that the developers permit, but some games are so inappropriate they should be declined when offered. This looks like one of them.

All people are different and have different tastes and needs. Every program that you've graced us with has served a purpose for someone; be it useful or fun. It's nice to have someone give you something with no strings attached; just that you use it and enjoy it. Thanks for all you guys and the publishers have done over the years! I just wish I could use the program to translate what Wolfgang said in Comment 8. Have a good one!

Hi White Rabbit.......the dust will seep under and around the doors closing off the construction area.....get some plastic drop cloths and tape the edges to cover the doors to the walls and floor, that will cut down a lot on the dust! Painters tape works well and won't leave marks on the walls. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Lady Lei

................................Moderator comment..............................

Thanks for the advise. We did get some tape, but becasue the Study was totally filled with building materials, plus a bathroom suite and all the things that were originally in the bedroom, you couldn't get to the doors to go out side, so the builders were having to come through into the main house. It's amazing how far dust travels in a house. From the two doors that shut off the master bedroom where the work is being carried out to the original part of the bungalow (one door that closes off the bedroom from the stairwell up to the second family room, then the second door that leads into the dining area (originally the old bungalows kitvchen) to the furthest room (a small room we call the snug as it got one wall that's just glass and is always warm as it faces south) is over 50 feet and five doors, yet everything in that particular room was still coated with a white powdery dust from the cement mixing and plasterboard removal. :)

Some weekends there is just one game giveaway. Thus, I see no problem with having something. I know non-English speaking people who want to learn English so I can download and show this to them. :D

I'm a not native English speaker. A few years ago I might have used this for my kids, but they are already learning English in school, so don't need this anymore.
A suggestion for the developer: some parents (me for instance) might be interested in an option to import own words/images.

...............................Moderator comment..........................

That's a brilliant idea. Similar to a game we got some years ago, where you could import your own images into one of those jig saw games.

This is no more a game than school is play. It could have been offered on the main site.

There is some debate as to whether educational games truly educate or if they just teach the children to play. But since I have no use for this I have to pass.

Might I suggest you look into open-source games and some abandonware games?

For those looking for a real game might I suggest Chex Quest:

I have to agree with the moderator.

NOT every game is for everyone. If this is not your gaming preference, there is no need for nastiness. If you think this site is "now scraping the barrel" then go elsewhere. Or better yet, pay for your games and get exactly what you want. Alawar and Playrix have both been providing some excellent games here, for which I am thankful. Kudos for this site!

My Spanish partner finds it a useful language aid, so this programme/game does exactly what it says.
Therefore, a thumbs-up from me and her. :-)

Nice one! As someone else mentioned, it's a pity we can't add images and words to expand the datbase. would have made this a much better program for learners.

Based on the poor quality of previous PlayJoWee offerings I am not going to bother downloading this and trying it. Some people will like this and the other PlayJoWee games and that is not a problem. You give us the games for free so it's not like we are losing out on anything.
Thanks for the vast majority of games that you share with the world through this site, I do appreciate them and love some of them, others I download and try and think this is not for me and others, like this one, just don't interest me at all based on previous experience of the publishers other products. I know there will be a game I like along tomorrow/next weekend/the weekend after so I will wait for those and appreciate them.

Don't miss tomorrows offering. It's a common genre, but definitely one of the better ones. I've already spent a few hours playing it yesterday when I managed to get a copy.

I'll try this. As all my children are learning English early in school (we're in Germany) this might be useful. My oldest son is too advanced I guess but it might be suitable for his younger siblings.

There should be a review for tomorrows game.

Nearly 5 hours later (since my first post), I didn't get any more sleep. Building work started last week and my wife made a passing comment at how untidy the house was looking as she was taking my daughter out to her gym class, so I've spent the last 5 hours dusting, sorting, moving and cleaning everything (almost everything was covered in a fine layer of dust from the building work, even though it's been isolated from the main house via two doors. lol

I did post a mini review shortly after my initial post in response to the comment following mine and then added a conclusion after posting this. :)

I wonder how many visitors here are not native English speakers, or teachers of English as a second language; and if this program wouldn't be better promoted on a foreign-language site.

On a related note, if you want to improve or test your English vocabulary with a game that also generates food donations as you play, check out http://freerice.com/#/english-vocabulary/1430 Do you know what a 'calverium' is? :-)

.......................Moderator comment.....................

Thanks for the link. hopefully some community members will find it useful. Maybe post it over in the discussion forums because once the giveaway is over, few if anyone will be checking these comments agin (unless the game is given away again later).

I used to study anatomy many years ago, so could answer your question without googling it. It's the top of your skull.

This is not a game. Seems like this site is now scraping the barrel!

...........................Moderator comment...............................

They can only give what the developers will give away. We still get some excellent games here, just not as many as we used to get. Alawar have been giving us a lot more decent games from their library over the last several months and Playrix continue to give us games.

Please do remember that game giveaway games are different from the games given away via the free game sites such as MyPlayCity. Those sites earn income from the games given away. There is always a small price to pay, whether it be your browser being opend up to the site when you close the game down, to toolbars being installed or your home page being changed.

Same as last week, I wasn't able to access a demo to at least play the game before it went live, so there will probably be no review today. (I may post a mini review later, once I've had more sleep).

Here's the mini mini review :)

An extremely short and to the point review:

Another short android game from PlayJoWee that at most caters for young children learning the English name for objects. Great for the very young English speaking and maybe for someone learning english for the first time.

The game is divided into several categories such as Shopping (26), City life (9), Food(9), Casual (20), Find the word (18), Find the Picture (18), Type the word (18), (the numbers in brackets denoting the number of levels each category has. Each level is sub divided into several questions. most of the categories share resources, which initially I thought limited the potential of this game, but for the very young, it does give you different perspectives on the use of the word.

Overall a poorly presented game, with little replayability. It may be of use to a very small section of the community who are looking to expand their English vocabulary and would help the very young (2 to 4 year olds) to put names to objects and learn some of their numbers.

For most of us, this game would be a total waste of time and effort to download, unless you have someone in the family that fits the above criteria.

Conclusion:

It's not a game most of the community will find useful, but it does have its uses for those learning English. It's a pity the words aren't spoken in-game to help with pronunciation. It would have been a much better program. I'd also have added a lot more items rather than using the same images over and over for the different categories.

b.t.w.

Don't miss tomorrows game, which is as good as the best in the genre it represents.
;)

I'll post some images later. got to get my daughter sorted for Gymnastics beofre I can continue, plus i need a couple more hours sleep once she's out.
