Elementary My Dear Majesty! -- What I liked about it and what I didn't:

Likes:
* Nice graphics
* Great amount of humor! I found the introduction to be really funny! (Tip: Read the newspaper)
* Has a casual mode and an expert mode

Dislikes:
* The controls for the puzzles are a bit difficult to master.
* The help says you can switch between the Expert and Casual modes. In casual mode, you can skip puzzles. So, I guess, you can click on the menu and switch modes anytime. However, in expert mode, you can't switch between modes when you're in the midst of a puzzle! Also, when you switch modes, you have to replay the entire level. So, if you're playing expert level and come across a difficult puzzle that you'd like to skip, it's not possible -- because you cannot skip puzzles in Expert mode.

And when you're in a puzzle, you cannot even access the menu to switch modes, or even to exit the game! (Or, at least, that's what I faced.) So, when I wanted to switch from Expert to Casual mode, I had to alt-tab out of the game and then close and restart it.

Please let me know, if any of you faced a similar experience.

I'm not sure what to expect if the game normally sells for $1.99, but I'll give it a go!

This game is FUN !! It's an old one, and well before my game playing days, but once one figures out how to work the controls, it is funny and great to play. I've just done the first couple of levels, but I can see I am going to enjoy it very much, Thanks so much !! Try it !

Absolutely terrible game to try and play. I'm trying to run it at 2560x1440, and it causes the system to drop to virtually doing nothing, changing the resolution to a lower setting, results in the whole thing locking up and crashing out. Even when I just have the menu running, not the actual game, hard drive is churning like mad, cursor is woefully slow and sluggish, and end up having to use task manager to kill the game. Once it's finally back to my desktop, it's still churning the hard drive like mad, and still running processes in the background.

my notes from when it was previously offered were "silly, fun"

This is so fun! I don't think I've ever played a 3D hidden object/puzzle game before. Fortunately for me, Casual mode is pretty easy, and I've not gotten timed out... yet! Graphics are gorgeous, and hints are plentiful. Game by Alawar, which is a plus for me.
