Egypt Solitaire: Match 2 Cards:
Egypt-Solitaire-001

Egypt-Solitaire-002
In Brief:
Egypt Solitaire: Match 2 Cards has never been given away before. As the name implies it's a solitaire card game with a theme about ancient Egypt (with an Indiana like introduction). We've had several of these games from 8Floor over the last few years, all of them with the same or similar game mechanic. Todays' game differs from previous titles in that you can only remove pairs of cards rather than runs. This makes it harder to finish levels completely or get to the maximum score. I didn't complete any of the levels up to level seven apart from one where I gained the required number of point's. These solitaire games are a pleasant distraction for a few hours; worth downloading especially if you enjoy playing solitaire games. The graphic is slightly muted colours and the game is introduced with a simple tutorial to walk those of you who've not played this type of game before through the basics. Thankfully the tutorial can be skipped if you wish.

There are twelve packs that cover various stages of the journey; for example, Start of the Journey, World of the Sphinx, Mysterious Pyramids, Long-Awaited Oasis, Temple Entrance, Secret of the Tomb etc. Each pack contains ten levels making a total of 120 levels to work through. There are trophies awarded for attaining various points and goals which you can see via the main menu.

Egypt-Solitaire-004
You can see a few videos of game play HERE, HERE and HERE.

You can also pick this up on Steam for £3.99 HERE when not on sale. These solitaire games are often on 90% off deals as well.
Conclusion:
The only thing that changes for most of these solitaire games is the story and the graphic, though todays requires you to remove pairs of cards. This made the game more difficult to complete levels and gain achievements.
In the last solitaire game we were given last week, I was able to complete a run of several levels before having to repeat a level, plus I'd gained several achievements. Todays game is much more of a challenge. Still, if you enjoy solitaire, this one is worth downloading.

Whiterabbit-uk,

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 4 hits (VBA32, Jiangmin, MaxSecure & BitDefenderTheta) from 59 antimalware engines. These four are amongst only several antimalware suites that often tag Toomky Games compared to most better known and more reliable antimalware engines.
The giveaway team has so far never given a game away that was infected with malware ever since the game side of the project started back in December 2006; bearing this in mind, it's very likely to be a false positive.
You can see the results of the installed games scan via the following link:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/d1a1b23fbd7034cda9f730a200d1ef68a364dfb8511d70ff585ef3e74b92e84f?nocache=1
If you're still not convinced of the games efficacy and want to be absolutely sure that the game is safe to install, please use a sandbox program first to check that the game is safe to install before installing it to your C drive or other drives on your computer (assuming you have more than one drive).

There are free sandbox programs such as Sanboxie, GeSWall, BitBox, Windows Sandbox, Bufferzone (a six month commercial license was given away via the applications side of the project back in December 2009 HERE), Shadowzone, as well as others. (You'll find them all on the same page from Techwhoop.

As said, since this is a match solitaire, rather than an up/down, there's more difficulty, and maybe more strategy, since your decisions on what to buy, and when to use the bonuses, are probably more critical. A couple of things not mentioned in the game help, or tutorial, you can go through the deck more than once, until you get a zero. You can match the 2 turned up from the deck to each other. Of course, your risking that you won't need those 2 cards later, but you get the money for them. A bit of strategy there. Finally, at least in Newbie mode, the game will alert you if you make a mistake - this is also true in 8Floor's up/down solitaire. If you miss matching a deck card with a card on the table, and turn over 2 more, the card on the table will jiggle to alert you that you missed one. If so, should you have a mulligan, or can buy one, you can elect to use it, or go on.

Slightly above average review aggregate on BigFish's main page, as linked in the blue box, though only 8 reviews. And only 50/50 on recommending it, though part of that is "should you buy", and today you don't have to calculate whether it's worth the money. : ) I have one or 2 of these memory matchers from 8Floor on my down - needs parts - old Win 7 gaming machine, but none on this ancient machine, so worth it for me.

I probably should have mentioned on previous giveaways, I'm finding some of these ToomKy's on this Win32 XP SP3 machine give me the "not a valid Win32 application error" when I click on the main link, but I just click on the "Game" executable in the folder, and it works fine. No idea why that would occur. But, just saying, try that folks before you give up on some of these. You can always make your own shortcut from that "Game" executable if you need one. Me, I only play these games sporadically, I don't usually play a game every day, so I just go into the folders when I want to play. I put them in a Shared Games folder, rather than program files, with type subfolders, like Solitaire, for easier access. If I just want a quick play, usually just do some of the built in Windows - solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Minesweeper, because I can do them in windows instead of fullscreen and multitask. Of course, I realize I can do a lot of these in a window instead of fullscreen, but, to me, the windows solitaire and Minesweeper are more conducive to small windows, which I prefer, so I can go back and forth from skimming a page to playing a card, for example.

As far as look, feel, music of this game, all fine with me, but I'm not too hard to please on that. Gameplay is the most important, by far, to me.

Well, I'm tired, and I'm sure that as soon as I post this, I'll remember all the things I forgot to say. LOL. In any case, thanks to GGOTD, ToomKY, sailorbear for another fine contribution, and the always exceptional Whiterabbit.

For those of you who are downloading todays game, this type of solitaire may not be your typical Tri Peaks Solitaire kind of game where you match the suits. Instead, you are matching like cards on the playing field.

The best strategy advice I can give in this instance is to start out with matching the cards on the playing field first before opening your deck to continue to match. This is a format I've never experienced before. Maybe I had on Pogo but they have changed their format dramatically and I don't know what games they have anymore.

You will be taking lots of time completing levels in this game. Also you earn coins in game to purchase the ability to help you complete a level. One of the things that kind of slows down for me is when a notice comes on the screen , dims it a little and says 499 coins! I think the dimming transition to this game can be eliminated as there are other ways to communicate to the player what they earned.

The coin system does have a micro transaction feel to it in a sense but at least you're not looking at advertising unlike many of the free solitaire games out there in the Apple App Store.

8 Floor Solitaire games are always on sale with Steam so you can check them out and keep them permanently if you like that. Be aware Steam is a fairly large download on your PC so for those of you with limited space you can actually install Steam to an external drive and configure Steam to install games there.

Another solitaire game from 8Floor, this time with slightly different game mechanics: match 2 cards to remove them both, instead of the usual increments of 1 up or down. I like the Ancient Egypt graphics, too. Works fine on Win7. Thanks, all!

I hate the game play in this game. Played 2 levels and uninstalled. Impossible to win. You can only remove one card at a time. If a 7 comes up from the deck, you can only remove a 7. Nothing else. Worthless to me.

Robert, the game is totally winnable! I've already completed 7 rounds in this game and trying to get myself to unlock the rest of the game. You will be drove crazy the first time around trying but you have to try different combinations of matching cards that you think works best in order to win at this game.

This is a good solitaire game. Works on windows 11. Worth trying if you like card games. You have to match 2 of the same card to complete the game.
