The Game:
The first Echoes of Sorrow game was such a blast to play at the time it was released, however, there seems to be not much improvement during the three years gap between the first game and this sequel.
The story in Echoes of Sorrow II is all about love, betrayal and tragedy with a interesting plotline. It begins when Luke, your previous lover shot your husband dead as well as killed your father and kidnapped your children. That seems like a lot isn’t it? You then need to use the Mind Machine to teleport into your dead husband’s mind and solve all the secrets and reveal all the truth behind this murderous plan.

No matter how exciting the story might sound; the production values of this game are fairly low. The game consists of both bright and dark scenes, the artwork is fine, but the quality is not there. The graphics are grainy and look like the game has been put on the shelf for a little while. The soundtracks are good though, they are orchestral and have done a good job in building the excitement.
Echoes of Sorrow II has quite a simple but frustrating gameplay. It has all the basic features except a interactive jump-map, the gameplay is nothing special; straightforward and fairly easy. There are two modes of Hidden Object scenes, finding multiple items and the standard-list type – puzzles are nothing much, all of them are the same old. What bothered us are the sparkles which seem to appear everywhere no matter which of the two difficulty modes you choose to play – there are even sparkles on the areas that have no objectives whatsoever.

Conclusion:
I was intrigued by the story line, but HOG’s are not my favorite genre and I didn’t finish the game, so cannot give a fair comment about what I think.

Having problems installing today's game?
If you have a problem installing or activating or getting Echoes of Sorrow 2 to work please visit the problems section, which you can find in the FAQ's thread HERE. Also read through the community’s comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted. The main issue we have is with the giveaway wrapper, which uses a Themida based code to protect the games executable. Unfortunately, Themida is also used to hide malware; so, as a precaution, some security software may block the installation and sometimes even delete the executable file. Blocking or deletion is usually determined partly by the way your computer is set up. Usually you'll get a message saying ''the file is corrupted'', but, the files are okay. There are a couple of things you can do to overcome this issue. The first is to reboot in safe mode with networking, install the game then reboot, or secondly you can (at your own risk) temporarily turn off your security, install the game, then turn your security back on. A note of reassurance to those that choose the latter and quicker method. The game giveaway team have been giving away games for over a decade (Dec 2006 & prior to that, via the main site 2 or 3 times weekly from Oct 2006 to Dec 2006) and have 'NEVER' given away a game infected with malware; they always test every giveaway with several of the top anti-malware suites to ensure all games are free from malware.
If for any reason you want to contact the giveaway team, for example, if you have a problem getting the latest game or other issues that the FAQ's thread or these comments don't cover or solve or if you have a game to offer the community you can do so HERE

Hi!
Downloaded easily and opened quickly in windows 8..1. Game play is smooth and
graphics are good! Its a simple hog, but I like the story and have followed through
to the dream section. Thank you for another great game and have a great week! Lee

Downloaded and installed fine on Win10 Home x 64. As always, paused Avast AV and Zemena AL for the install.

Fairly standard HOG fare here. Sharp graphics and I like the music, very atmospheric. A map would be nice.

Thanks to all involved!

Echoes of Sorrow is a good name for this game. That's what I got out of it. It took quite a long while to activate, so I got busy doing other things. I finally opened the game to play it, and the cursor would not 'click' anything, to get into the house. Turned off the games cursor, and then managed to get in the house. Seems like the arrows, and cursor and things ar4 not aligned properly, so no matter how many times I click, there is no response. Gave up beating on my poor computer, and uninstalled and deleted this one. Too bad, as I was just in the mood for a good HOG. I'm running Win 10, on a 64 bit laptop.

"I was intrigued by the story line, but HOG’s are not my favorite genre"
I totally agree with this. I was going to pass but that story line sounds very interesting! So far, I'm getting a bit frustrated because some of the things don't make much sense to me. The worst I've seen so far is trying to pick the lock of the suitcase in my husband's hospital room. The trick seems to be to go pretty slowly so you don't set off the click penalty while going fast enough that the lock parts don't reset. Where else would you just go into a police car and steal a lockpick?!

Gotta say, I love seeing my comatose husband in a hospital bed, clicking on him and seeing: "I'm not sticking my hand in there. It's too dark to see. What if a rat bites me?" Where in his body do you suppose the surgeon put that rat?

The game is stuck, I am in a room, nothing left to do but no way to leave it and closing the game and reopening do not fix the problem. I had this problem in another game and was unable to continue playing. Any suggestions?

Initially the game didn't fit my screen, but right clicking on the icon and using troubleshoot compatibility soon sorted that out. I wish there was a map with a quick way of navigating, but it's a nice HOG (which I love) and looks like being a relaxing gameplay. Thanks GG.

I found the installation folder downloaded even though I did not get a prompt of any kind from Firefox, so I guess the link worked directly. Anyhow, installed the game fine on my Windows 10 Home Edition 64 bit laptop and played awhile, it's not too dark to see and I used Windowed mode with no issues. It looks familiar, not sure if I played it before, or if it's from Echoes of Sorrow, the previous game. Skipped some puzzles that I didn't understand or have patience for, but the HOG scenes were pretty easy and I managed to find all the pieces without asking for help. (This is unusual for me.) Nice mystery, a little old-fashioned in the hints and technology, but that's true often with other games too. I would say however that if you don't like repetition and you already played Echoes of Sorrow recently, this one might be boring.

Download link isn't working in Firefox, looks like bad javascript. I see when I mouseover "https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/echoes-of-sorrow-2/#" which I know from experience that Firefox simply reloads the current page.

Therese S., make sure your browser is not blocking popups. That link correctly brings up the download dialog in Chrome. If you have another browser, it might work better.

I have downloaded this game but it keeps flickering all the time I have not had this problem before HELP

Helen ,
Not sure if this will help....
Flickered for me initially in full screen so I put in window mode and it stopped. After closing the game, then reopening it, still in window mode, I switched to full screen and it no longer flickered. I then left it in full screen, closed it and reopened and still, no flicker. I cannot explain why it flickered or why/how this fixed it but it did. I hope that helps.

I've found my comments from when I played this game previously. I felt that it was a bit old fashioned and suffered from not having a map.
