I have not played many games of this type, but this Dino R-r-age Defense seems better. I only played through three levels, and could only get 2 of 3 stars at most on each of them. Game is easy to pick up and play, although I have no idea what some of the icons on the "towers" are for. In 3 levels I don't really see any towers that work better than others for different kinds of enemies, but that will add more strategy once I get to that point. There are decisions to be made as to how to spend your "DNA" for general upgrades, and on each wave you can buy or sell back or upgrade towers.
At the end of a wave, one or more circles appear with number of seconds until the next wave starts wandering into your screen. I found if I hit Pause right away, I can click one of the circles to get bonus "bones", and still take my time buying and placing towers. When I'm ready to put my defenses into action, I hit the Play button.
So far it's a reasonable game, don't know if it will hold my interest. I get worried when the enemies make it past all my towers and into the building, but I'm just not feeling the game enough to have any sense of panic. I suppose I could move towers during a wave (I _think_ that would work) but haven't tried that.
Would love to have bigger graphics -- even on full screen everything is tiny. I'd like to see a "zoom" mode that magnifies everything, and a way to move screen around while zoomed.

I do enjoy most tower defense games, and am going to download and give this one a try. However, if it is really very similar to the Royal Defense games of a few weeks back, I can't say as it will get much play time by me. I found those to be far too challenging. Don't get me wrong, I know there are many who like a challenge, and I certainly don't mean the game should be so easy as to be boring, but I would have been much happier if I wasn't defeated every time on the very first level! Usually, these types of games start out relatively easy, with lots of opportunity to try a few strategies and win enough rewards to check out a few upgrades, getting more difficult with progress through the game. But if I can't even get past level one, I really don't find the game enjoyable in any way, shape, or form. I am going to give this one a shot, though - the word "dino" is what attracted me. Not sure when I'm going to get a chance to try playing, though - it is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, so I may get to try it later today. Might not find time until tomorrow, though. And that is normal for me, download the free game Saturday, but no time to play until Sunday, though I can usually manage to play the Sunday game by the evening- always too late to comment on the giveaway while it is still active.
