Easy-as-pie installation/registration after I temporarily disabled my security software. I really enjoy some games that aren't too taxing on the brain -- just relaxing, like this one seems to be. It looks like fun! Thanks very much, GAOTD and MyPlayCity!

Wouldn't install. BitDefender: The file C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPlayCity.com\Detective Solitaire - Inspector Magic and the Man Without a Face\is-3RFQP.tmp is infected with Trojan.GenericKD.30482559.The virus has been successfully blocked and your PC is now safe.

Please read the readme. This is a false positive. Your security software is detecting the Themida wrapper as malware because the wrapper can also be used to hide malware. The giveaway team have been giving games away since Dec 2006 and have never given away an infected game.

What anti-virus? Because I checked it at Virus-total against 61 AV Apps and only one of those (cylance) flagged it, if it was actually infected then I'd expect if to be flagged by several of the AV apps.
Update your AV and scan again.

MrL0G1C, The AV engine that has recently begun having trouble with myplaycity.com derived giveaway games is Bitdefender... I do not think it is a Themidia problem as the file it complains about is in the games installed program folder and if themidia was being interupted the installation would never have created the games program files folder would it? I suspect it is something to do with the adware self promotion that myplaycity.com injects into the games it distributes even by game.giveawayoftheday.com performing actions not expected of a game so bitdefender thinks it could be trojan activity.

Thanks to GGOTD for another of these wonderful solitaire games. I enjoy them because they aren't your basic, boring solitaire game. Besides the interesting themes, they are challenging and fun. The different layouts make it much better than the basic games.

Downloaded easily and installed with no problem on Win 10. Sharp clear graphics and smooth play. I find these very relaxing and not too taxing on the brain cells. I enjoyed 2 others from this series and this one is equally good. McAfee recognized the file as safe, so I don't have to turn off AV any more. :)

MyPlayCity pay developers to give this away. They earn money by opening your browser to their site when the game closes down, a portion of those earnings goes to the developer. You'll find most games free via MPC are actually commercial games being sold via sites like Big Fish, Alawar etc.

Terra, that is perfectly true. The only difference is that by getting the GGAOTD version, your browser will not open the usual website on closing the game - which is absolutely safe, but it does annoy some people.

Either way, I really like these games. I was considering downloading this latest one from MPC, but waited to see if it would pop up here one day. Today's the day! Thank you . . . I'm off now to download. :-D

Basilica, with the GGAOTD version it will open their website on closing the game, you said it will not... Simplest solution to that is to put the domain the page opens to into the systems hosts file in order to block it making a connection. Then it won't load the unwanted page of adverts.

The Themida wrapper can also be used to hide malware, which is possibly why Chrome is blocking it. Try using a different browser.. The giveaway team have been giving games away since Dec 2006 and have never given away an infected game.

Firefox let it through. Similar to other solitaire games given away recently, good fun to play while I listen to radio plays. I really do not know why they make such a big deal about the 'story'. I pay no attention to it, I just want to know what the game is about, but perhaps I am much older than their target audience.

Some years ago I was chatting with a friend who had been an amateur / volunteer archaeologist on various digs, and I asked him if he had ever found anything wonderful. He pulled a face, and admitted that the only item of note he had ever found was one complete human molar.

I was delighted to be able to point out that he had come up with the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth. (And that, my friends, is an absolutely true story!)
