After installing the game I checked the installed folder for the game manual and found that there wasn't an English translation so decided to create one by copying the Russian version and translating it via Google Translate. It took a lot longer than I expected (over 4 hours) because I wanted it to look as close to the original as possible (though initially I decided not to create a black background with white text due to time constraints, but after posting this I did convert to a black background and posted links below the main comment). This meant screen capturing all 47 of the images then resetting the text to fit properly. I could only capture the text in small sections, which added to the time it took to complete. What I forgot to do until after I'd uploaded the manual was to correct the grammar. There are always issues when using Google Translate from some languages; though overall the translation is okay. I wanted to do this, but as already mentioned I'd spent far too long on the initial translation, so didn't proof read the thing once i'd completed it. If there are any issues with grammar and it bothers you, make sure you download the DocX version rather than the PDF versions so that you can edit the document. :)

Unfortunately I don't have any time left to check the game out today, so I won't be able to post my own thoughts on the game; however, I have posted some information such as the key bindings, some images and links to videos as well as download links for the translated manual. After skim reading the manual while i was translating and screen capturing, it definitely piqued my interest, partly because I've always enjoyed playing first person shooters where you can travel from planet to planet, land and fight on each planet and explore etc (I do have a couple of games that fulfill that requirement, but I'm always looking for more.

Derrek Quest VII purports to be able to do that; however, the graphics are pretty basic and retro looking so may not be to everyone's taste ( the graphics are very minecrafesque); that said, I will be giving the game a go when I have time to spare. As a consolation to not posting a review today, you can see a few game play videos, though most are in Russian apart from the last one, but you should still get the gist of the game HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Game Manual downloads - English translation

The manual contains all the background information about the game that you'll need to know including key bindings (see below) as well as descriptions of all the characters you'll come across e.g. Colonel Bighet, Alice Spaceman, Bill Firstrum and Android Engry, etc, plus the planets and system states you'll get to visit; for example, Kingdom of Orel, New Paradise and the Segov Empire to name a few of the 10 states that comprise the Terran system. All the available weapons such as explosive barrels, laser batteries and anti personnel mines as well as a few vehicles miniflay-04 and the Eagle-01) are detailed in the manual

You can download the Russian to English translated manual in the form of a Doc X document (I used the free version of Text-maker via the following links, The first link below has unlimited downloads via Gamefront and has now been verified so is working. The rest of the links are via Firefox Send. Each link only allows 100 downloads or lasts for 7 days, so I've posted several links. I had to remove the coding that hide the actual address as it wouldn't allow you to download the file. instead you received a message saying it had expired, which it hadn't. you still need to copy past all but the first link to your browsers address bar to get the download. The Gamefront link works fine.

Key Bindings

LKM - shoot or hit the selected weapon
RMB - turn on optical guidance (if any)
W - move forward
S - move back
A - strafe left
D - strafe right
SHIFT - switch to running (limited in time)
CTRL - crouch and sneak
C - lie down and crawl
Q - bend to the left
E - bend to the right
SPACE - jump
F - take the item
R - replace the laser battery
H - remove weapons
Z - drag object
X - throw a dragging object (you can throw small objects at mines)
T - slow down
TAB - pause
M - start the level over
ESC - quit the game (the game closes immediately, the next time you have to start the current level from the beginning)

If you like Minecraft , or games modelled off minecraft, as well as First Person Shooters and space travel and visiting different planet environments, you'll probably enjoy playing this game

The game installs to C:\Program Files (x86)\Derrek Quest 7 by default and once installed is 221MB in size. Pressing F1 while in game will bring up a list of all key bindings. The game is in Russian, with no English translations in game.
