Whiterabbit-uk, I got to level 31 before the game crashed on me, so it isn't just you suffering the crashes.
It does seem to be an enjoyable game with the difficulty level increasing at a manageable rate. I would find it helpful to have a proper exit button rather than having to press 'Esc'.

emperor,
I do suspect we are beta testing this for the developer. Which means i hope they do give us the opportunity to see this again when the bugs have been fixed. :)
Thanks for your feedback

emperor, Would it be possible to either post a screen capture. I use https://postimages.org/ as the host site which is free to use, then once uploaded select 'hotlink for website and the 640 x 480 (for message board) size as this is perfect for this comments section. This will then enable the community to see the error message screen capture or comment on the error message that is being presented.
This would help the developers identify where to look when bug testing. If you've not deleted the save files yet, playing the game again, will probably throw up the exact same message. Thanks in advance. :)

Whiterabbit-uk, Sorry, but I can't upload an error message as I tried the level again and this time it worked without a problem. That doesn't mean I won't get any more error messages in the future, but the one I had previously has not been repeated. It pleases me, but doesn't help you.

emperor, No problem; however, if you do get another error message please make a note of what it says and post it. This may help the developers fix any bugs (hopefully). Thank you in advance for any feedback, appreciated.

Whiterabbit-uk, I have now sort of completed the game, without further crashes. Between my first comment and my second one above my Windows 7 system decided it needed to run chkdsk when I started up, and after that there was not any hint of a crash.
I say 'sort of completed' because there are some oddities towards the end. The level counter showed me I was on level 100, but there was no boss. I was able to play a level beyond that, which is not shown on the progress bar, which it said was level 99. After that I was able to play another level which showed as 100, and this time there was a boss. I am now onto level 101 (by my reckoning, level 103).
My initial enjoyment of this game turned to disappointment as it stopped being challenging after about level 50. There are only three types of monster (apart from the bosses) and they do not grow in resilience or speed. Their numbers also do not grow very much over many levels. Thus there is a sameness to a lot of the later levels. It is also possible to get to the point with the missiles and the tesla coil that no manual intervention is needed. For all the levels in the 90s I did not upgrade the weapons or use the napalm and super-charges at all, and the levels were still completed without any monsters getting through.
The weapons can be improved far quicker than the monster challenge grows. To improve the game and make it worth playing the later levels, I think more types of monster are needed, that are more resistant to the defensive weapons, and/or the numbers and speed of the existing types need to increase in line with the increase in firepower. This has the potential to be a really enjoyable game if some changes were made. As it stands, I think it is too long for the challenge it presents.

emperor,
Thank you for your reply. I found the same with respect to hardly needed to bother shooting from the cannon as the homing rockets did virtually all the work after several levels, and I would be left twiddling my fingers, lol. There are a few games similar but much better than this, but even those tend to become too easy once you've upgraded your weapons for example, defendoooorll
See my Steam review of Defendoooor HERE.
I joined Steam Jan 2009, this was the first game I've ever started and played through in one session (after a few false starts and leaving it running for hours after I got called away and had forgotten to turn the game off; hence the 11 hours, despite the full play-through only taking 1 hr 25min

Отличная игра Прошёл до 18 уровня без сбоев.
Единственное пожелание, чтобы была возможность начать игру под другим именем.
